Average Yearly Compensation: $53,768 Additional Responsibilities: Create search areas within their geographic area of responsibility Work with the performance team to understand area and issues within assigned sector Work with System Performance counterpart to understand issues and help reduce Lost Calls and Ineffective Attempts within your sector Create Regional RF designs be gathering information for Regional management from utilizing geographical and database queries and summarizing the information on a presentable document Compound information from different RF engineers in the region to create a repository of information for other departments to access Create and supply cell site translations Perform drive testing to evaluate search area candidate as necessary Prepare Design Work Sheets in a timely manner Perform radio engineering evaluations for system planning and site acquisition Begin to identify location specific needs for new cells taking baseline, performance, capacity, and population into consideration Evaluate coverage problems and requirements for coverage and capacity cells Utilize propagation tools and other RF related equipment such as Map Info, GeoPlan, Datapro and NPT for site candidate comparison, propagation and coverage review and selection, determination of coverage boundaries for extensions, FAA/FCC filings, overall sector review of cell site locations for upgrades/modifications, and traffic engineering and investigation Create search areas and reviews search area candidates within geographic area by taking into consideration baseline, performance issues, capacity, and population Prepare necessary regulatory filings for sector/sites ensuring that compliance is met, and attends zoning meetings for assigned sector Required Skills: BS in Engineering or Computer Science or equivalent work experience Experience with RF Design and various RF System Optimization techniques for voice and data for Nortel, Motorola, and/or Lucent infrastructure 2+ years of experience in the cellular or telecommunications' industry General understanding and or working knowledge in three or more of the following platforms and/or technologies: Infrastructure including: Lucent and Nortel Operating systems and applications including: UNIX, Windows, MS Office Wireless technologies including: CDMA, 1X and EVDO, traffic theory, IS-41 standard Test equipment including: DataPro, pilot scanners, baseline equipment, spectrum analyzers and Agilent equipment.
