After being wounded defending the Fatherland in the Great War, a soldier travels to America where he rises to international prominence as owner of The World News Association. He returns to his native country to give a speech but is deeply disturbed by the Fascist dictatorship now ruling with an iron fist. When he delivers an oration denouncing the book burnings and censorship of the press that he has witnessed, he is forcibly removed from the podium. At his hotel he is confronted by brutal fascist henchmen, who demand that he publicly apologize for his statements or face death.

This 1936 film is in black and white and is a drama based on events in the American Civil War and starts with citizens choosing loyalty to the Confederate States of America or to the Union in the first days of the crisis. Early scenes show the burning of the USS Merrimack by its Union crew to prevent it from falling into Confederate hands. However, the Merrimack, which had been burnt down to the waterline, was later rebuilt by the Confederacy, as an ironclad, and was renamed the CSS Virginia.
The film shows that, during the war, the Union built its own ironclad, the USS Monitor. When the Virginia emerged on its sortie in the Battle of Hampton Roads it inflicted major damage on the Union fleet in the harbor. Subsequent scenes show the arrival of the Monitor and its battle with the Virginia.
Scenes of the battle are dramatic and appear to have been done with actual sailing ships, not models.

Abraham Lincoln
Abraham Lincoln (
i/ˈeɪbrəhæm ˈlɪŋkən/; February 12, 1809 – April 15, 1865) was the 16th President of the United States, serving from March 1861 until his assassination in April 1865. Lincoln led the United States through its Civil War—its bloodiest war and its greatest moral, constitutional, and political crisis. In doing so, he preserved the Union, abolished slavery, strengthened the federal government, and modernized the economy.
Born in Hodgenville, Kentucky, Lincoln grew up on the western frontier in Kentucky and Indiana. Largely self-educated, he became a lawyer in Illinois, a Whig Party leader, and a member of the Illinois House of Representatives, in which he served for twelve years. Elected to the United States House of Representatives in 1846, Lincoln promoted rapid modernization of the economy through banks, tariffs, and railroads. Because he had originally agreed not to run for a second term in Congress, and because his opposition to the Mexican–American War was unpopular among Illinois voters, Lincoln returned to Springfield and resumed his successful law practice. Reentering politics in 1854, he became a leader in building the new Republican Party, which had a statewide majority in Illinois. In 1858, while taking part in a series of highly publicized debates with his opponent and rival, Democrat Stephen A. Douglas, Lincoln spoke out against the expansion of slavery, but lost the U.S. Senate race to Douglas.

Frank McGlynn
Frank McGlynn (born 1986) is an Irish sportsperson. He plays Gaelic football with his local club Glenfin and has been a member of the Donegal senior inter-county team since 2006. In 2015, Pat Spillane included McGlynn in his top 40 footballers in the game today.
Among other accolades, he has one All Star to his name (2012), one All-Ireland Senior Football Championship (2012), three Ulster Senior Football Championships (2011, 2012 and 2014). He was shortlisted for All Stars Footballer of the Year in 2012, but the award went to team-mate Karl Lacey.
Playing career
Youth
McGlynn played association football for Drumkeen United as a youngster. He has also played soccer for Finn Harps at underage level. His talent earned him trials with Wolverhampton Wanderers, Leeds United, Preston North End in soccer's English Football League. He played and scored for Everton in the Milk Cup - in a team which also featured Wayne Rooney, who went on to become one of the most-capped players and highest goalscorers in England team history.

This 1936 film is in black and white and is a drama based on events in the American Civil War and starts with citizens choosing loyalty to the Confederate States of America or to the Union in the first days of the crisis. Early scenes show the burning of the USS Merrimack by its Union crew to prevent it from falling into Confederate hands. However, the Merrimack, which had been burnt down to the waterline, was later rebuilt by the Confederacy, as an ironclad, and was renamed the CSS Virginia.
The film shows that, during the war, the Union built its own ironclad, the USS Monitor. When the Virginia emerged on its sortie in the Battle of Hampton Roads it inflicted major damage on the Union fleet in the harbor. Subsequent scenes show the arrival of the Monitor and its battle with the Virginia.
Scenes of the battle are dramatic and appear to have been done with actual sailing ships, not models.

He is the first African American to hold the office. Obama previously served as a United States senator from Illinois, from January 2005 until he resigned after his election to the presidency in November 2008.
Abraham Lincoln (February 12, 1809 -- April 15, 1865) served as the 16th President of the United States from March 1861 until his assassination in April 1865. He successfully led the country through its greatest constitutional, military and moral crisis—the American Civil War—by preserving the Union by force while ending slavery and promoting economic modernization. Reared in a poor family on the western frontier, he was mostly self-educated. He became a country lawyer, an Illinois state legislator, and a one-term member of the United States House of Representatives but failed in two attempts at a seat in the United States Senate. He was an affectionate, though often absent, husband and father of four children.
Lincoln was an outspoken opponent of the expansion of slavery in the United States, which he deftly articulated in his campaign debates and speeches.[1] As a result, he secured the Republican nomination and was elected president in 1860. After war began, following declarations of secession by southern slave states, he concentrated on both the military and political dimensions of the war effort, seeking to reunify the nation. He vigorously exercised unprecedented war powers, including the arrest and detention without trial of thousands of suspected secessionists. He issued his Emancipation Proclamation in 1863 and promoted the passage of the Thirteenth Amendment to the United States Constitution, abolishing slavery.
Lincoln closely supervised the war effort, especially the selection of top generals, including Ulysses S. Grant. He brought leaders of various factions of his party into his cabinet and pressured them to cooperate. He defused a confrontation with Britain in the Trent affair late in 1861. Under his leadership, the Union took control of the border slave states at the start of the war and tried repeatedly to capture the Confederate capital at Richmond. Each time a general failed, Lincoln substituted another until finally Grant succeeded in 1865. A shrewd politician deeply involved with patronage and power issues in each state, he reached out to War Democrats and managed his own reelection in the 1864 presidential election.
As the leader of the moderate faction of the Republican party, Lincoln came under attack from all sides. Radical Republicans wanted harsher treatment of the South, Democrats desired more compromise, and secessionists saw him as their enemy.[2] Lincoln fought back with patronage, by pitting his opponents against each other, and by appealing to the American people with his powers of oratory;[3][4] for example, his Gettysburg Address of 1863 became one of the most quoted speeches in American history. It was an iconic statement of America's dedication to the principles of nationalism, equal rights, liberty, and democracy. At the close of the war, Lincoln held a moderate view of Reconstruction, seeking to speedily reunite the nation through a policy of generous reconciliation in the face of lingering and bitter divisiveness. Just six days after the decisive surrender of the commanding general of the Confederate army, Lincoln fell victim to an assassin, the first U.S. president to suffer such a fate. Abraham Lincoln. Vampire Hunter. The very words evoke a juxtaposition that is unexpected, if not downright bizarre. Yet it's an idea to which the filmmakers have fully committed. Their work is a portrait of the man and leader we've all studied and the seminal events that defined him and our nation -- interwoven with the immersive, visceral action of a vampire story.
At the same time, ABRAHAM LINCOLN: VAMPIRE HUNTER presents the Great Emancipator as the country's first superhero. Notes producer Tim Burton: "Lincoln's entire life mirrors the classic comic book superhero mythology. It's a duality: during the day he's the president of the United States; at night, a vampire hunter."

Abraham Lincoln. Vampire Hunter. The very words evoke a juxtaposition that is unexpected, if not downright bizarre. Yet it's an idea to which the filmmakers have fully committed. Their work is a portrait of the man and leader we've all studied and the seminal events that defined him and our nation -- interwoven with the immersive, visceral action of a vampire story.
At the same time, ABRAHAM LINCOLN: VAMPIRE HUNTER presents the Great Emancipator as the country's first superhero. Notes producer Tim Burton: "Lincoln's entire life mirrors the classic comic book superhero mythology. It's a duality: during the day he's the president of the United States; at night, a vampire hunter."
That dichotomy is at the core of the Lincoln we meet in the film. "He was ordinary and extraordinary at the same time," says director Timur Bekmambetov. Adds screenwriter Seth Grahame-Smith, who adapted his best-selling novel of the same name: "Lincoln's life story is an archetypal superhero origin story. He's as close to an actual superhero as this country's ever seen. Forget about vampires. Lincoln had neither family name nor money. His mother died when he was a youngster. Of all the art I have seen in recent years, his is to me the most impressive. It's not because of my love for Andy Warhol, who is a repeat subject of his, but because of the utter perfection and mastery of his work. He is best known for his special-effects work in the film industry, for which he has won multiple awards, however his larger-than-life, hyper-realistic 3-D portraits are what really grabbed me. He has only created a few of them - of Abraham Lincoln, Dick Smith (his mentor), and Andy Warhol - but to stand in the presence of his work is to experience true awe and bewilderment. Wondering how he is able to create such detailed, lifelike art boggles the mind.
To satisfy my curiosity, I recently flew out to Los Angeles to meet with Kazuhiro Tsuji, who was gracious to agree to sit with me. Kazuhiro told me that he moved to the US from Japan many years ago to pursue special effects but that his true passion is art. In fact he left the film industry last year to pursue his portraiture work. Personally, I can't wait to see what he does next. I hope you enjoy the interview.

In other news, February is Black History Month and we wanted to share with you some of what we know about black history month.
The tradition of Black History Month goes back to the beginning of the 20th Century.
In 1926 legendary historian and educator Carter G. Woodson founded "Negro History Week".
Mr. Woodson chose February because it coincided with the birthdays of two men who fought for the freedom of American slaves...Abraham Lincoln and Frederick Douglas.
Then in 1976, Negro History Week was expanded to Black History Month.
Since then Black History Month has offered an opportunity to study, reflect on and redefine our ongoing legacy of American history.
Black history month's theme this year is "Hallowed Grounds: Sites of African American Memories"
The Association for the Study of African American Life and History reflects...
"The history of African Americans unfolds across the canvas of America, beginning before the arrival of the Mayflower and continuing to the present.
From port cities where Africans disembarked from slave ships to the battle fields where their descendants fought for freedom,
from the colleges and universities where they pursued education to places where they created communities during centuries of migration,
the imprint of Americans of African descent is deeply embedded in the narrative of the American past.
These sites prompt us to remember and over time became hallowed grounds."

should correspond to the emotions and the environment the session
designer wishes to promote.
Alain Wight of Cascade Productions used the story of Abraham
Lincoln's Gettysburg address to illustrate how short, focused
presentations are more effective. TED Talks embrace the same
approach.
Important to change pace in a presentation every few minutes to
keep the audience engaged. Mix presentation, demonstrations,
experiments, audience discussion, video, panel, discussion, Q and
A. Change presenter, tell a story, stop for discussion, voting

flexibility and reliably. Possible for all participants to become
presenters. Breaks the traditional "presenter/audience" model to
allow powerful sharing between participants. Devices can be PCs,
tablets or smart phones. Possible for multiple presenters to
share the same screen and the same information.
ClickShare has been proven over the last year and Barco is now
exploring how it can be used to enable new meeting formats such as
digital brainstorming.

presenters. Breaks the traditional "presenter/audience" model to
allow powerful sharing between participants. Devices can be PCs,
tablets or smart phones. Possible for multiple presenters to
share the same screen and the same information.
ClickShare has been proven over the last year and Barco is now
exploring how it can be used to enable new meeting formats such as
digital brainstorming.

Die westlichen Leitmedien sind in jüngster Vergangenheit stark in die öffentliche Kritik geraten. Grund sind ihre nachweislich falschen bzw. verfälschten Berichterstattungen, wie es alternative Medien stichhaltig an den Tag legten.
Doch wie reagieren die auf frischer Tat ertappten Fälscher? Etwa mit Reue, Geständnis, Entschuldigung und Wiedergutmachung, wie dies ein Edelmensch an den Tag legen würde? – Weit gefehlt! Denn – genau im Gegenteil – sie reagieren mit einem Frontalangriff gegen alle Wahrheitssuchenden Dienste alternativer Medien und deren Veröffentlichungen.
Nehmen wir hierzu das Beispiel des Zweiten Deutschen Fernsehen, ZDF, und dessen Sendung „Leben im Wahn“ vom 01. März 2016 unter die Lupe. Hier werden vom ZDF verschiedene Themen, mit denen sich Menschen kritisch auseinander setzen, aufs Korn genommen, um nicht zu sagen lächerlich gemacht und so vom Tisch gefegt. Aber nicht nur diese vom ZDF aufgeführten Beispielthemen, sondern sogleich jeder kritische Ansatz, wo Menschen innerlich damit ringen, was Wahrheit und Lüge ist. Laut dem ZDF liegt das alles im Bereich „Wahn“. - Aber liegt angesichts der ZDF-Falschdarstellungen nicht der Verdacht sehr nahe, dass nicht nur die in der Sendung aufgeführten Beispielthemen, sondern auch die nach Darstellung des ZDF sich im Wahn befindlichen Menschen gar nicht so verkehrt liegen mit ihrer Wahrnehmung? Denn der Verdacht zahlreicher Zuschauer, dass ZDF-Sendungen nicht die Wahrheit widerspiegeln, bestätigte ihre kritische Wahrnehmung an etlichen Beispielen:
Wir erinnern uns, wie das ZDF in seiner Sendung „Der Machtmensch Putin“ seinen Zuschauern zu suggerieren versuchte, es hätte eine russische Invasion in die Ukraine stattgefunden. Dazu wurde ein angeblicher russischer Soldat als Zeuge präsentiert. Später gab dieser vermeintliche Zeuge zu, von den ZDF-Filmemachern gekauft worden zu sein, um mit gezielten Falschaussagen Russland und dessen Präsident Putin massiv zu belasten. Selbst die OSZE brachte in ihren Berichten klar zum Ausdruck, das keinerlei Hinweise auf eine russische Präsenz in der Ukraine bestünden. – In unseren Sendungen vom 15. Januar 2016 „Die Taktik der 180-Grad-Verdrehungen der Medien am Beispiel des Ukraine-Konfliktes“ und „Kommt das Ende des ZDF?“ legten wir die Sachverhalte im Detail dar.
In unserer Sendung mit dem Titel „Werden Fernsehbilder vorsätzlich gefälscht?“ vom 11.6.2014 zeigten wir Fehlinformationen in einem Bericht des ZDF über Syrien auf. Dort wurden nämlich Bilder mit brutalen Misshandlungen durch Soldaten gezeigt, die dem syrischen Präsidenten Assad zur Last gelegt wurden. Tatsächlich stammte das Video zweifelsfrei aus dem Irak, welches schon Jahre zuvor im Internet veröffentlicht wurde.
Ein anderes Beispiel nachweislicher Wahrheitsverfälschung: Hans U.P. Tolzin, Herausgeber der Zeitschrift „Impfreport“, wurde vom ZDF für ein Interview zum Thema Impfen angefragt. – Die Aussagen von Herrn Tolzin wurden dann aber geschickt in ein ganz anderes Licht gerückt und die Begründungen zu seinen Aussagen einfach aus der Sendung heraus geschnitten. In unserer Sendung vom 4. April 2016 mit dem Titel „ZDF berichtet nicht neutral und ausgewogen“ berichteten wir darüber.
Doch nicht nur offensichtliche Fälschungen, müssen dem ZDF zur Last gelegt werden. Auch gezielte Nicht-Veröffentlichung dient dazu, Zuschauer in ihrer Meinung zu manipulieren.
Dies zeigt das Beispiel des deutschen Kabarettisten „Didi“ Hallervorden auf. Hallervorden wollte am 10.September 2015 bei seinem Auftritt in der ZDF-Benefizgala „Menschen auf der Flucht - Deutschland hilft“ einen Ausschnitt aus seinem Lied „Ihr macht mir Mut“ zeigen. Dieses hatte er anlässlich seines 80.Geburtstags geschrieben. Obwohl der Erlös aus dem Verkauf des Liedes zu 100% an die Flüchtlingshilfe geht, verweigerte ihm das ZDF die Ausstrahlung. Doch warum dies? War doch gerade die Hilfe für die Flüchtlinge das Thema der Sendung. Der Grund hierfür ist offensichtlich, denn in seinem Lied hinterfragt Hallervorder das Handeln einiger deutscher Politiker und die Berichterstattung der Hauptmedien.
Doch wie heißt es so trefflich: „Wer einmal lügt, dem glaubt man nicht.“ - Und je listiger die Medien lügen und als „Wahn“ brandmarken, desto scharfsinniger werden die Menschen. Denn – wie bereits Abraham Lincoln hinsichtlich dem vermeintlichen „Leben im Wahn“ trefflich feststellte – „Man kann zwar alle Menschen eine kleine Zeit und wenige Menschen alle Zeit, aber niemals alle Menschen alle Zeit belügen.“

This 1936 film is in black and white and is a drama based on events in the American Civil War and starts with citizens choosing loyalty to the Confederate States of America or to the Union in the first days of the crisis. Early scenes show the burning of the USS Merrimack by its Union crew to prevent it from falling into Confederate hands. However, the Merrimack, which had been burnt down to the waterline, was later rebuilt by the Confederacy, as an ironclad, and was renamed the CSS Virginia. The film shows that, during the war, the Union built its own ironclad, the USS Monitor. When the Virginia emerged on its sortie in the Battle of Hampton Roads it inflicted major damage on the Union fleet in the harbor. This 1936 film is in black and white and is a drama based on events in the American Civil War and starts with citizens choosing loyalty to the Confederate States of America or to the Union in the first days of the crisis. This 1936 film is in black and white and is a drama based on events in the American Civil War and starts with citizens choosing loyalty to the Confederate States of America or to the Union in the first days of the crisis. Early scenes show the burning of the USS Merrimack by its Union crew to prevent it from falling into Confederate hands. However, the Merrimack, which had been burnt down to the waterline, was later rebuilt by the Confederacy, as an ironclad, and was renamed the CSS Virginia.
The film shows that, during the war, the Union built its own ironclad, the USS Monitor. When the Virginia emerged on its sortie in the Battle of Hampton Roads it inflicted major damage on the Union fleet in the harbor. Subsequent scenes show the arrival of the Monitor and its battle with the Virginia.
Scenes of the battle are dramatic and appear to have been done with actual sailing ships, not models.
