The Mercury Summer Theater (1946) is a CBS radio drama series produced, directed by and starring Orson Welles. It was a short-lived summer radio series lasting only fifteen episodes, which harked back to Welles's earlier The Mercury Theatre on the Air (1938) and its successor, The Campbell Playhouse, but was not able to replicate its success. The series offered 30-minute adaptations of classic plays and novels, plus some adaptations of popular motion pictures, whereas the original had offered more depth in its 60-minute running time.
Although the Mercury Theatre troupe had disbanded when Welles was fired from RKO studios in 1942 and the Mercury players were dismissed with him, this radio series offered a reunion of many Mercury personnel, including Richard Wilson (who would direct the rehearsals) and composer Bernard Herrmann, as well as familiar actors such as Agnes Moorehead and William Alland

Previous to this we saw the opening of a 1985 airing of the same film on Family Classics, which sadly occurred a few weeks after Frazier Thomas passed away. (https://youtu.be/oFJsFaQ0Kcs)
The Family Classics theme song was called "Moviescope" and was a piece of library music composed by Dennis Berry. It was originally released on the Berry/Conroy label.
This aired on local Chicago TV on Sunday, March 15th 1981 at 3:00pm.

It included celebrity news, high street fashion, and sex tips. The magazine was published fortnightly until September 2007, when it became a weekly publication to compete with Look magazine. More USA is still published.
On 22 April 2013, Bauer Media Group announced that it would cease publication of More! Magazine and its website. In its closing web comments, the publishers reported that continuing challenging economic conditions meant that the product was no longer viable.
History and profile
More! magazine was launched in 1988, aimed at older teenage girls. In 2002, it was relaunched as a lifestyle magazine for young women.
The ABCs in August 2009 revealed a 17.3% growth of year-on-year circulation, making more! the UK's fastest growing glossy celeb weekly.
The magazine launched its own annual fashion awards in 2004.
Also in 2009, the magazine sponsored The City when it was shown on MTV.

The Mercury Summer Theater (1946) is a CBS radio drama series produced, directed by and starring Orson Welles. It was a short-lived summer radio series lasting only fifteen episodes, which harked back to Welles's earlier The Mercury Theatre on the Air (1938) and its successor, The Campbell Playhouse, but was not able to replicate its success. The series offered 30-minute adaptations of classic plays and novels, plus some adaptations of popular motion pictures, whereas the original had offered more depth in its 60-minute running time. The Mercury Summer Theater (1946) is a CBS radio drama series produced, directed by and starring Orson Welles. It was a short-lived summer radio series lasting only fifteen episodes, which harked back to Welles's earlier The Mercury Theatre on the Air (1938) and its successor, The Campbell Playhouse, but was not able to replicate its success. The series offered 30-minute adaptations of classic plays and novels, plus some adaptations of popular motion pictures, whereas the original had offered more depth in its 60-minute running time.

Here's the opening of the Family Classics presentation of Moby Dick [1956] on WGN Channel 9.

Preceded by a WGN station ID bumper, the Cubs/Sox "baseball" variant (voiceover by Clif Mercer)
Previous to this we saw the opening of a 1985 airing of the same film on Family Classics, which sadly occurred a few weeks after Frazier Thomas passed away. (https://youtu.be/oFJsFaQ0Kcs)
The Family Classics theme song was called "Moviescope" and was a piece of library music composed by Dennis Berry. It was originally released on the Berry/Conroy label.
This aired on local Chicago TV on Sunday, March 15th 1981 at 3:00pm.
