The following is a list of episodes of the NBC comedy television series Community, which premiered on September 17, 2009. The show focuses on disbarred lawyer Jeff Winger, and his attempt to get a bachelor's degree at community college. He is joined by members of his study group, which he originally formed for his Spanish 101 class.
As of May 17, 2012 (2012 -05-17)[update], 71 episodes of Community have aired.
On March 5, 2010, NBC announced that Community had been renewed for a second season. The season premiered on September 23, 2010. On November 3, 2010, NBC ordered 2 additional episodes for the second season, bringing it to a total of 24 episodes.
On March 17, 2011, NBC announced that Community had been renewed for a third season.
On May 10, 2012, NBC announced that Community had been renewed for a fourth season consisting of 13 episodes and will move to Fridays at 8:30 pm. On May 19, 2012, it was announced that Dan Harmon would no longer be executive producer and showrunner of the series.
Joel Edward McHale (born November 20, 1971) is an Italian-born American stand-up comedian, actor, writer, television producer, television personality, and voice artist. He is best known for hosting The Soup and for his role as Jeff Winger on the NBC comedy series Community.
McHale's role as a voice actor includes Elliot in Open Season 2, filling in for Ashton Kutcher. He also appeared in Spider-Man 2 in a cameo appearance as bank manager Mr. Jacks, CSI: Miami as Greg Welsh, and Spy Kids: All the Time in the World as Wilbur Wilson.
McHale, the middle of three brothers, was born in Rome, Italy on November 20, 1971. His mother, Laurie, is from Vancouver, British Columbia, and his father, Jack, is from Chicago. McHale and his brothers were born in Rome, where their father worked for an American university. He grew up in the Seattle area, graduating from Mercer Island High School in 1991. He also participated at Youth Theatre Northwest.
He received a bachelor's degree in History from the University of Washington in 1995. While at the University of Washington, McHale briefly belonged to the Theta Chi Fraternity. He was recruited to be on the rowing team, but later walked onto the football team, playing tight end for two years. McHale received a Master of Fine Arts degree from the Professional Actors Training Program at the University of Washington.
Gillian Jacobs ( /ˈɡɪlɪən/; born October 20, 1982) is an American film, theater and television actress, best known for her role as Britta Perry on the NBC comedy series Community.
Jacobs was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and grew up in Mt. Lebanon, Pennsylvania, a suburb of Pittsburgh.
She made her name locally at the Pittsburgh Public Theater. There she was a perennial contender in the Public's Shakespeare Monologue Contest, which led to her being cast as Titania in its production of A Midsummer Night's Dream. After graduating from Mt. Lebanon High School in 2000, Jacobs moved to New York City, New York, to study acting at The Juilliard School, where she was a member of the Drama Division's Group 33.
Jacobs is of Irish, Scottish, German and French heritage.
Jacobs's first national exposure came as Adele Congreve on the television series The Book of Daniel. Although she played Kimberly in the television pilot of Traveler, the role was recast when ABC acquired the series. She subsequently made guest appearances on Law & Order: Criminal Intent and Fringe.
The Draymen Estate has become an urban legend. Amongst the sinister stories of unsavory's locals and brutal violence, several people have apparently gone missing. But even the police won't go there. Enter two naive student filmmakers with a well-meaning plan to make a sympathetic documentary of life on the estate. They soon discover, however, that problems of drugs and crime in this community go way beyond the norm. A community, which is about to present the students with material of unimaginable horror urning their final project into their darkest nightmare.
