John Glyn-Jones (28 August 1909 – 21 January 1997) was a British television and film actor.
His father was a Member of Parliament and he was educated at Bishop's Stortford College and Oxford University. He began his acting career in repertory theatre in Oxford and with the BBC Drama Repertory Company. As well as acting he was also a producer and director.
Glyn Thomas Johns (born 15 February 1942) is an English musician, recording engineer and record producer.
Johns was born in Epsom, Surrey. He is the father of Ethan Johns, the older brother of Andy Johns, and uncle of Will Johns. Ethan has worked with Ryan Adams, Paul McCartney, Laura Marling, Ray LaMontagne and Kings of Leon, while Andy has worked with The Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin and Jimi Hendrix, either on his own or under the tutelage of Eddie Kramer.
Johns has worked with such artists as Led Zeppelin, The Rolling Stones, The Who, Eagles, Bob Dylan, Linda Ronstadt, The Band, Eric Clapton, The Clash, The Beatles ("Get Back" Sessions), Ryan Adams, The Steve Miller Band, Small Faces, Spooky Tooth, The Easybeats, The Ozark Mountain Daredevils, Blue Öyster Cult, Emmylou Harris, Midnight Oil, New Model Army, Belly, Joe Satriani, Ronnie Lane, Rod Stewart with Faces (band), John Hiatt, Joan Armatrading, Buckacre, Gallagher and Lyle, Georgie Fame, Family, Helen Watson, Fairport Convention, Humble Pie, and many others.
Henry John Deutschendorf, Jr. (December 31, 1943 – October 12, 1997), known professionally as John Denver, was an American singer-songwriter, actor, activist and humanitarian, whose greatest commercial success was as a solo singer, starting in the 1970s. He was one of the most popular acoustic artists of the decade and one of its best-selling artists. By 1974, he was firmly established as America's best-selling performer, and AllMusic has described Denver as "among the most beloved entertainers of his era". After traveling and living in numerous locations while growing up in his military family, Denver began his music career in folk music groups in the late 1960s. Throughout his life, Denver recorded and released approximately 300 songs, about 200 of which he composed, with total sales of over 33 million.
He recorded and performed primarily with an acoustic guitar and sang about his joy in nature, his enthusiasm for music, and his relationship trials. Denver's music appeared on a variety of charts, including country and western, the Billboard Hot 100, and adult contemporary, in all earning him twelve gold and four platinum albums with his signature songs "Take Me Home, Country Roads", "Annie's Song", "Rocky Mountain High", "Thank God I'm a Country Boy", and "Sunshine on My Shoulders".

Glyn Johns talks to students in the tri-c recording arts and technology program about his famous drum micing technique.
In this episode, I try to replicate the Glyn Johns Method for recording drums, performed by Glyn Johns himself in a workshop. I captured a screen shot from the video and replicate every angle of the microphone so that we can hear how it sounds. I had my doubts about the technique, and to me it lived up to it's expectations. At first listen, I was very pleased with how it sounded, but when trying to mix the drum sounds and add compression, I found it more and more difficult to be happy with the sound. Here is the original video that I referenced: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fyy55ALu18Y

However, there is one major issue that I have found with the technique while using it in one of my own sessions, and I'd like to share it with you. How come no one has talked about it? I'm not sure, but for me it really messed up the mix and I had to ditch the stereo set up entirely and go down to the single overhead microphone for a mono mix.

(Words & music by Clevant Derricks)
I once was lost in sin, but Jesus took me in
And let a little light from heaven fills my soul.
He bathed my heart in love, and He wrote my name above
And just a little talk with Jesus makes me whole.
(Now let us) have a little talk with Jesus
(Let us) tell Him all about our troubles
(He will) hear our fainted cry
(He will) answer by and by
(When you) feel a little prayer wheel turning
(And you) will know a little fire is burnin'
(You will) find a little talk with Jesus makes it right.
--- Instrumental ---
I may have doubts and fears, my eye be filled with tears
But Jesus is a friend who watches day and night
I go to him in prayer, He knows my every care
And just a little talk with my Jesus make it right.
And just a little talk with Jesus makes it right...
