"Atomic spies" or "atom spies" were people in the United States, Great Britain, and Canada who are known to have illicitly given information about nuclear weapons production or design to the Soviet Union during World War II and the early Cold War. Exactly what was given, and whether everyone on the list gave it are still matters of some scholarly dispute, and in some cases, what were originally seen as strong testimonies or confessions were admitted as fabricated in later years. Their work constitutes the most publicly well-known and well-documented case of nuclear espionage in the history of nuclear weapons. There was a movement among nuclear scientists to share the information with the world scientific community, but it was firmly quashed by the U.S. government.
Confirmation about espionage work came from the Venona project, which intercepted and decrypted Soviet intelligence reports sent during and after World War II. They provided clues to the identity of several spies at Los Alamos and elsewhere, some of whom have never been identified. Some of this information was available but not usable in court for secrecy reasons during the 1950s trials. Additionally, records from Soviet archives, which were briefly opened to researchers after the fall of the Soviet Union, included more information about some spies.
The Virtual International Authority File (VIAF) is an international authority file. It is a joint project of several national libraries and operated by the Online Computer Library Center (OCLC). The project was initiated by the German National Library and the US Library of Congress.
The aim is to link the national authority files (such as the German Name Authority File) to a single virtual authority file. In this file, identical records from the different data sets are linked together. A VIAF record receives a standard data number, contains the primary "see" and "see also" records from the original records, and refers to the original authority records. The data are made available online and are available for research and data exchange and sharing. Reciprocal updating uses the Open Archives Initiative protocol.
The file numbers are also being added to Wikipedia biographical articles and are incorporated into Wikidata.
Los Alamos usually refers to Los Alamos, New Mexico, a townsite in Los Alamos County, New Mexico. Los Alamos may also refer to:

We always have to keep in mind that a Documentary, after all, can tell lies and it can tell lies because it lays claim to a form of veracity which fiction doesn't. Some of the documentaries are made just to discredit some particular person, party, organization, system etc, but most of them here on TDF are non biased, without prejudice and worth watching.

PBS America | Sky 534 | Virgin Media 243 | pbsamerica.co.uk This documentary tells the story of the Venona project, a remarkable feat of cryptanalysis that began in 1943 and continued through the Cold War years, decoding messages sent by Soviet intelligence agencies. The programme features interviews with several surviving officials involved with Venona, including codebreaker Meredith Gardner and retired FBI agent Robert Lamphere. The two exposed a vast network of spies operating in the US, including highly placed agents at the clandestine facility in Los Alamos, New Mexico, where the atomic bomb was designed and built. The Venona project did not become public knowledge until 1995, fifteen years after it was discontinued, but its disclosure has caused scholars to reassess the history of ...

Theodore Alvin Hall (October 20, 1925 – November 1, 1999) was an American physicist and an atomic spy for the Soviet Union, who, during his work on US efforts to develop the first and second atomic bombs during World War II (the Manhattan Project), gave a detailed description of the "Fat Man" plutonium bomb, and of several processes for purifying plutonium, to Soviet intelligence. His brother, Edward Hall, was a rocket scientist who worked on ICBMs for the United States government. At the age of 19, and through the recommendation of John Van Vleck, Hall was the youngest scientist to be recruited to work on the Manhattan Project at Los Alamos.[3][5] At Los Alamos Hall handled experiments for the implosion device ("Fat Man") and helped determine the critical mass of uranium for "Little Boy"...
For 17 years warrant officer John Walker and his ring gave US Naval secrets to the Soviets. John Walker was the number 1 KGB asset during much of the Cold War. He was arrested in 1985 and sentenced for life in prison for treason. John died in a US prison on August 28, 2014. The consequences of their crimes were massive and has been called "the most damaging Soviet spy ring in history."
