Prasanna (born 1951), is an Indian theatre director and playwright from Karnataka. He is one of the pioneers of modern Kannada theatre. He graduated from the National School of Drama (NSD). He founded Samudaya and gave a creative direction to Kannada theatre in the 1970's with other activists. Prasanna lives in Heggodu in Karnataka. He is known for his organisational skills and new ideas and innovations in theatre. He is a Sangeet Natak Akademi Awardee. He has directed plays for National School of Drama (Repertory Company, NSD), Ninasam, Rangamandal-Bhopal, Rangayana and worked with many theatre organizations of India.

Plot: Basu's Windowed mother's plan ti marry a distant relative brings unrest in Basu's life. When Basu Fails in a class test, he forges her signature on the marks card only to be caught by her teacher! Putta unusual hobby is to curve models out rubber pieces for which he steals money from home but caught by mother and reprimanded severely. Basu's grandma's story comes as a solution The story says that whoever goes to the distant island in the sea, leaves something behind for Panjurli (a spirit!) on the island and prays, his wishes come true! Putta and Basu decide to venture into the sea in their small wooden dinghy!

Plot: Kutty Srank is a short-tempered, lonely, but law-abiding boatman whose work leads him to travel the back waters of Kerala. One day, when the local police station discovers an unidentified body washed ashore, three women come forward claiming it to be the dead body of Kutty Srank. Plot: Devrishi Narad informs Bhagwan Shri Vishnu of atrocities committed by Mahaant on low caste untouchables. Narad is told that a devotee by the name of Eknath has already been born in Paithan, the grandson of Chakrapani, who will ensure equality for all. Eknath turns out to be precocious and is sent out to Janardhan Swami's Ashram. Years later he returns, weds his childhood sweetheart, Girija; visits the Char Dhams (Dwarka, Badrinath, Jaggannath Puri, & Rameshwaram) and sets out to do his fated task much to Mahaant and the Jagirdar Amar's chagrin - who arrest and put him behind bars.

Plot: Prasanna (Kamal Haasan) is nursed back to health after a bloody fight by singer Bhairavi (Srividya). The two are slowly drawn to each other and they decide to marry inspite of their age gap, and a past relationship she is still unextricably tied to. In the meantime, Prasanna's father (Sundarrajan) embarks on a relationship with a younger girl Ranjini (Jayasudha). Both relationships are given a new twist by the addition of an unexpected new variable. A couple of daring concepts thrown in, but too much of the standard tamil film melodrama and reliance on fabulous coincidences.
