Little Girl (with Blue Eyes)

"Little Girl (With Blue Eyes)" is a non-album single by British band Pulp, released in 1985. It features very dark songs, far from the acoustic feel of the first album It. The four songs from the single are all included on the compilation album Masters of the Universe.

Encouraging Words

Encouraging Words is the fifth studio album by Billy Preston, released in 1970 on Apple Records. It was the second and last of his albums for the Beatles' label, after which he moved to A&M.

Background and recording

As on the previous year's That's the Way God Planned It, Preston worked closely with George Harrison on the album, the Beatle contributing guitar, co-producing, and co-writing a song with Preston. Harrison also donated two of his own − and subsequently most famous – compositions in "My Sweet Lord" and "All Things Must Pass", both of which he had yet to release himself. (Work on All Things Must Pass would only begin after the Preston sessions were completed.)

Recorded in London, Encouraging Words retained some of the all-star personnel from its predecessor − again featuring Eric Clapton as well as Harrison on guitar − augmented by the likes of Ringo Starr, Klaus Voormann and various members of Delaney & Bonnie's "Friends" band. Crucially though, there were also contributions from members of the Temptations' and Sam and Dave's backing bands, ensuring a more sympathetic setting for Preston's music than that provided by the all-British rock line-up on the 1969 album. As a result, Encouraging Words is typical of Preston's successful blend of soul and rock, highlighted by his powerful voice and virtuoso Hammond organ and piano playing.

Part 3 (KC and the Sunshine Band album)

Part 3 is the fourth studio album by the funk and disco group KC and the Sunshine Band. The album was produced by Harry Wayne Casey and Richard Finch and was released in October 1976 on the TK label.

History

Part 3 contains three of the band's biggest hits, "(Shake, Shake, Shake) Shake Your Booty", "I'm Your Boogie Man", and "Keep It Comin' Love". The first two reached #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 while the third peaked at number two. Two other singles, "I Like to Do It" and "Wrap Your Arms Around Me" found moderate success on the charts. The album was remastered and reissued in 2006 by Collector's Choice Music.

Little

Little is a surname in the English language. The name is ultimately derived from the Middle English littel, and the Old English lȳtel, which mean "little". In some cases the name was originally a nickname for a little man. In other cases, the name was used to distinguish the younger of two bearers of the same personal name. The Little was two automobiles built in Flint, Michigan, from 1912 – 15 and the company, Little Motor Car Company, founded by William H. Little and William C. Durant that built them.

Company

Little Motor Car Company was an automobile manufactured founded primarily by William H. Little and William C. Durant that operated from 1911 to 1913.

After the Panic of 1910–11 and lack of cash from overexpansion that led to General Motors's Board to oust Durant, Durant began forming other car companies including Chevrolet and Mason Motors. Durant purchased the failing Flint Wagon Works and used the assets to set up the Little Motor Car Company and Mason. The Little Motor Car Company was incorporated on October 19, 1911, by Charles Begole, William Ballenger, William H. Little, and Durant. A.B.C. Hardy was appointed to manage the Little plant. The Little company was charged with building a small car to fill the void left by Buick Motor's discontinuing the Model 10 and compete with the Ford.

Little (album)

Little is the debut album by Vic Chesnutt, released in 1990. Produced by R.E.M. frontman, Michael Stipe, it was Chesnutt's first solo release. The album was re-released on July 5, 2004.

Overview

Deciding to pursue a solo career after the band, La-Di-Das, broke up, Chesnutt would play solo at the 40 Watt Club. It was there that R.E.M. frontman, Michael Stipe, first spotted Chesnutt and helped him to produce his first album. It was released on Texas Hotel Records in 1990.
