I know, last time I said that I would taken a break (I was seriously thinking of stop making videos for a while) but Poldark is back and, after the first two episodes, I felt the need to make a video.
A video about Francis, yes.
I know what you may think right now, I know he is one of the characters more hated and insulted from the fandom (or, at least, most of the fandom) but I love him, with his flaws and fragilities. I've always defended him, against all, even when everyone hated him, and I'll keep doing so. I understand him deeply, I know how he feel/felt, why he did what he did... I'm not justifing him, he made some bad mistakes (and he is trying to make ammend now). But he is human, he is fragile, he has his flaws and his emotions (bad and good) like everyone of us. He isn't Ross, like his father and then his wife wanted him to be (and like some of you expect him to be), but that doesn't mean he is inferior to him.. he is just different. He is just a guy who needs love and people who really love him. His father always treated him badly, he wasn't a good father (imo). His wife, who he loved more than anything, didn't really loved him, she married him for money, the name (like her mother told her to do) but not for love. She loves Ross, and you know that. He trusted George, he tought he was a friend but he wasn't, he just used him and his fragilities/weaknesses. (I hate George! I hate him!). He just needs love and to feel loved! He needed help but no one saw that. Everyone was just too busy with their problems, too busy to judge him, blame him, make him feel inferior and a wimp. No one has ever really tried to understand him.
Can you really blame ONLY him? There's so much to say about Francis, but I would annoy you.. so I stop here. I made this video trying to show you part of what I'm trying to say. To try to make you see that he isn't a monster, he isn't bad. Try to put yourself in his shoes, try to understand him a bit.
What he did at the end of the first episode of the second season, it really shocked me (maybe because we are so alike). I saw him slowly reach that conclusion, helplessly, since the first season. I wanted, and I still want, to help him, make him feel loved etc... but, yes, he's just a character i know lol.
I can't see him in that state, depressed and sad. I'm so happy he is still alive and I hope that he can be well and happy. I want him to be well, happy and loved like he deserves. I hope he and Ross can be friends again, I hope Ross can forgive him!
Anyway, we can all agree (I think) that Kyle Soller did, and is doing, a really, REALLY!, amazing job. Seriously, he is so good! He is portraying Francis SO WELL. Bless him and his talent.
I hope you like the video, I really hope that because I care about this video and, strangely, I'm really satisfied with the outcome!

Ross
Ross (Ros in Scottish Gaelic) is a region of Scotland and a former earldom and county. The name Ross allegedly derives from a Gaelic word meaning "headland", perhaps a reference to the Black Isle. Another possible origin is the West Norse word for Orkney – Hrossey – meaning horse island; the area once belonged to the Norwegian (West Norse) earldom of Orkney. I know, last time I said that I would taken a break (I was seriously thinking of stop making videos for a while) but Poldark is back and, after the first two episodes, I felt the need to make a video.
A video about Francis, yes.
I know what you may think right now, I know he is one of the characters more hated and insulted from the fandom (or, at least, most of the fandom) but I love him, with his flaws and fragilities. I've always defended him, against all, even when everyone hated him, and I'll keep doing so. I understand him deeply, I know how he feel/felt, why he did what he did... I'm not justifing him, he made some bad mistakes (and he is trying to make ammend now). But he is human, he is fragile, he has his flaws and his emotions (bad and good) like everyone of us. He isn't Ross, like his father and then his wife wanted him to be (and like some of you expect him to be), but that doesn't mean he is inferior to him.. he is just different. He is just a guy who needs love and people who really love him. His father always treated him badly, he wasn't a good father (imo). His wife, who he loved more than anything, didn't really loved him, she married him for money, the name (like her mother told her to do) but not for love. She loves Ross, and you know that. He trusted George, he tought he was a friend but he wasn't, he just used him and his fragilities/weaknesses. (I hate George! I hate him!). He just needs love and to feel loved! He needed help but no one saw that. Everyone was just too busy with their problems, too busy to judge him, blame him, make him feel inferior and a wimp. No one has ever really tried to understand him.
Can you really blame ONLY him? There's so much to say about Francis, but I would annoy you.. so I stop here. I made this video trying to show you part of what I'm trying to say. To try to make you see that he isn't a monster, he isn't bad. Try to put yourself in his shoes, try to understand him a bit.
What he did at the end of the first episode of the second season, it really shocked me (maybe because we are so alike). I saw him slowly reach that conclusion, helplessly, since the first season. I wanted, and I still want, to help him, make him feel loved etc... but, yes, he's just a character i know lol.
I can't see him in that state, depressed and sad. I'm so happy he is still alive and I hope that he can be well and happy. I want him to be well, happy and loved like he deserves. I hope he and Ross can be friends again, I hope Ross can forgive him!
Anyway, we can all agree (I think) that Kyle Soller did, and is doing, a really, REALLY!, amazing job. Seriously, he is so good! He is portraying Francis SO WELL. Bless him and his talent.
I hope you like the video, I really hope that because I care about this video and, strangely, I'm really satisfied with the outcome!

I know, last time I said that I would taken a break (I was seriously thinking of stop making videos for a while) but Poldark is back and, after the first two episodes, I felt the need to make a video.
A video about Francis, yes.
I know what you may think right now, I know he is one of the characters more hated and insulted from the fandom (or, at least, most of the fandom) but I love him, with his flaws and fragilities. I've always defended him, against all, even when everyone hated him, and I'll keep doing so. I understand him deeply, I know how he feel/felt, why he did what he did... I'm not justifing him, he made some bad mistakes (and he is trying to make ammend now). But he is human, he is fragile, he has his flaws and his emotions (bad and good) like everyone of us. He isn't Ross, like his father and then his wife wanted him to be (and like some of you expect him to be), but that doesn't mean he is inferior to him.. he is just different. He is just a guy who needs love and people who really love him. His father always treated him badly, he wasn't a good father (imo). His wife, who he loved more than anything, didn't really loved him, she married him for money, the name (like her mother told her to do) but not for love. She loves Ross, and you know that. He trusted George, he tought he was a friend but he wasn't, he just used him and his fragilities/weaknesses. (I hate George! I hate him!). He just needs love and to feel loved! He needed help but no one saw that. Everyone was just too busy with their problems, too busy to judge him, blame him, make him feel inferior and a wimp. No one has ever really tried to understand him.
Can you really blame ONLY him? There's so much to say about Francis, but I would annoy you.. so I stop here. I made this video trying to show you part of what I'm trying to say. To try to make you see that he isn't a monster, he isn't bad. Try to put yourself in his shoes, try to understand him a bit.
What he did at the end of the first episode of the second season, it really shocked me (maybe because we are so alike). I saw him slowly reach that conclusion, helplessly, since the first season. I wanted, and I still want, to help him, make him feel loved etc... but, yes, he's just a character i know lol.
I can't see him in that state, depressed and sad. I'm so happy he is still alive and I hope that he can be well and happy. I want him to be well, happy and loved like he deserves. I hope he and Ross can be friends again, I hope Ross can forgive him!
Anyway, we can all agree (I think) that Kyle Soller did, and is doing, a really, REALLY!, amazing job. Seriously, he is so good! He is portraying Francis SO WELL. Bless him and his talent.
I hope you like the video, I really hope that because I care about this video and, strangely, I'm really satisfied with the outcome!

This collection of talks and readings are from a free 3 day study and celebration of the book-length poem STAY WITH GOD written by Australian poet Francis Brabazon (1907-1984). The event was held during 8-10 May 2015 at the Avatar Meher Baba pilgrimage retreat known as "Avatar's Abode" which is located on the Sunshine Coast, Queensland, Australia. The first day of the workshop comprised a 7 hr group read-through of the poem during which all participants were welcome to read a section aloud. Three of the workshop presenters, namely Ward Parkes, Ross Keating and Geoff Gunther, have backgrounds as University Lecturers in English and Literature, and like most present, are well versed in Meher Baba's extensive literary legacy. An extract from "Francis Brabazon - A Biographical Sketch" states:
Stay with God (1959) is a lucid exposition of the Advent on earth, in our time, of the God-Man and of this living embodiment of Godhood as the Salvation of mankind from its state of permanent anxiety and threatened annihilation. This God-Man is not seen as the Son of a Father, but as the very Self of each one of us and therefore, easily knowable to anyone directly, without an intermediary. In the creative process of perceiving the meaning of the God-Man, the author examines the values of Mankind, both Eastern and Western, past and present, as represented in Art and Literature. His language, arising directly from the urgency of his message and the clarity of his vision, avoids rigid crystallizations, by which modern poetry is immobilised and essence and vitality excluded.

Stay with God (1959) is a lucid exposition of the Advent on earth, in our time, of the God-Man and of this living embodiment of Godhood as the Salvation of mankind from its state of permanent anxiety and threatened annihilation. This God-Man is not seen as the Son of a Father, but as the very Self of each one of us and therefore, easily knowable to anyone directly, without an intermediary. In the creative process of perceiving the meaning of the God-Man, the author examines the values of Mankind, both Eastern and Western, past and present, as represented in Art and Literature. His language, arising directly from the urgency of his message and the clarity of his vision, avoids rigid crystallizations, by which modern poetry is immobilised and essence and vitality excluded.

Giorgio Pisani (Francis Matthews), perde la moglie che muore dando alla luce il figlio. Le cose vanno anche peggio quando scopre di essere sterile e che quindi il bambino non può essere suo. Nello stesso tempo un killer gli sta addosso e tenta di uccidere la sua nuova amante.
Thriller about a reporter who comes home from an overseas assignment to find his baby in the hospital and his wife dead. The baby isn't his, the reporter learns from his doctor friend Lydia Franzi, as he is quite sterile. Reporter Giorgio and Lydia soon become lovers, and she narrowly escapes the brutal hands of the murderer (or murderers) who claims several other victims in shockingly violent fashion.

Thriller about a reporter who comes home from an overseas assignment to find his baby in the hospital and his wife dead. The baby isn't his, the reporter learns from his doctor friend Lydia Franzi, as he is quite sterile. Reporter Giorgio and Lydia soon become lovers, and she narrowly escapes the brutal hands of the murderer (or murderers) who claims several other victims in shockingly violent fashion.

This collection of talks and readings are from a free 3 day study and celebration of the book-length poem STAY WITH GOD written by Australian poet Francis Brabazon (1907-1984).
The event was held during 8-10 May 2015 at the Avatar Meher Baba pilgrimage retreat known as "Avatar's Abode" which is located on the Sunshine Coast, Queensland, Australia.
The first day of the workshop comprised a 7 hr group read-through of the poem during which all participants were welcome to read a section aloud.
Three of the workshop presenters, namely Ward Parkes, Ross Keating and Geoff Gunther, have backgrounds as University Lecturers in English and Literature, and like most present, are well versed in Meher Baba's extensive literary legacy.
Ross Keating's Doctoral thesis examined the life of Francis Brabazon from the viewpoint of his literary and artistic contributions. He published this work in 2002 as "Francis Brabazon: Poet of the Silent Word - a modern Hafiz".
Permission to publish these videos on Youtube was obtained from the videographer George Fricker, each presenter, and the Trustees of the Avatar's Abode Trust. Those wanting to know more about Avatar Meher Baba (1894-1969) can:

When of myself I wrote, nought of your savour
Was in it; but when I wrote of love I wrote well -

An extract from "Francis Brabazon - A Biographical Sketch" states:
Stay with God (1959) is a lucid exposition of the Advent on earth, in our time, of the God-Man and of this living embodiment of Godhood as the Salvation of mankind from its state of permanent anxiety and threatened annihilation. This God-Man is not seen as the Son of a Father, but as the very Self of each one of us and therefore, easily knowable to anyone directly, without an intermediary. In the creative process of perceiving the meaning of the God-Man, the author examines the values of Mankind, both Eastern and Western, past and present, as represented in Art and Literature. His language, arising directly from the urgency of his message and the clarity of his vision, avoids rigid crystallizations, by which modern poetry is immobilised and essence and vitality excluded.
