Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting
The Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting occurred on December 14, 2012, in Newtown, Connecticut, when 20-year-old Adam Lanza fatally shot 20 children aged between 6 and 7 years old, as well as six adult staff members. Prior to driving to the school, Lanza shot and killed his mother at their Newtown home. As first responders arrived at the scene, Lanza committed suicide by shooting himself in the head.
The incident was the deadliest mass shooting at a high school or grade school in U.S. history and the second-deadliest mass shooting by a single person in U.S. history, after the 2007 Virginia Tech shootings. The shooting prompted renewed debate about gun control in the United States, including proposals for making the background-check system universal, and for new federal and state gun legislation banning the sale and manufacture of certain types of semi-automatic firearms and magazines with more than ten rounds of ammunition. A November 2013 report issued by the Connecticut State Attorney's office concluded that Lanza acted alone and planned his actions, but no evidence collected provided any indication as to why he did so, or why he targeted the school.

In Twilight, Bella moves to her father's home in Forks, Washington, meets the mysterious Cullen family, and falls in love with Edward Cullen. Bella has the ability to shield her mind (from mind reading, attacks, etc.), an ability she's had from the beginning. But once she is transformed into a vampire, her ability is enhanced to where she can also expand her shield to protect others from mind control.

According to the report, Lanza first killed his mother with .22-caliber rifle at close range as she lay in bed the morning of Dec. 14. He then drove to Sandy Hook Elementary School in a 2010 Honda Civic, parking next to a no parking zone outside of school. Officials later found a Izhmash Saiga-12, 12 gauge semi-automatic shotgun in the vehicle.
Lanza was armed with a Bushmaster XM15-E2S, a Glock 10 mm handgun and a Sig Sauer 9 mm pistol when he arrived at the school at around 9:30 a.m. He was also carrying 30-round magazines for the Bushmaster. When he found the doors were locked, he shot through the glass window to the right of the front lobby doors.
In the north hallway, Lanza shot and killed school principal Dawn Hochsprung and school psychologist Mary Sherlach. He also fired upon two other staff members in the hallway, who survived. The shooter then went into the main office, but apparently did not see the staff who were hiding inside, and returned to the hallway before entering first grade classrooms 8 and 10. It is unknown which order he entered the rooms. While there, Lanza opened fire on teachers and students, killing four teachers and 20 children.
Police received a 911 call at 9:35 a.m, and the first police officer arrived on the scene outside of school at about 9:39 a.m.
A minute later, Lanza took his own life with a single shot from a Glock 20, 10 mm pistol in classroom 10.
The entire event took place in under 11 minutes.

This is from a 1933 Betty Boop cartoon that tells a condensed and somewhat twisted version of Snow White. In the middle of the cartoon we have Cab Calloway singing St. James Infirmary Blues. This video starts with him and his orchestra, a rare live action scene that's actually from another cartoon of this era, Minnie the Moocher, a song which Calloway is most famous for. He sings that song as a Walrus and it's in a different key than what we see the orchestra performing at the beginning of that cartoon. As it turns out the footage and music that start Minnie the Moocher is clearly the same recording as the song we have here, St. James Infirmary Blues, and later in the edit I join these two pieces of audio together. He starts singing the tune as Koko the Clown, then gets morphed into a ghost. Wonderful animation that capture his annunciation and dance moves, with other wild visuals. Towards the end we see how the animators turned his live action movements into cartoon form. Included scenes from 1980 film The Blues Brothers, where Cab Calloway again performs Minnie the Moocher, which was my initial introduction to this singer and performer.

There is still an open question surrounding the authorship of James. There are three main contenders in the new testament two of whom were apostles, one of whom was executed fairly early on by Herod Agrippa, and then the other one was lesser known. The one that rises to prominence and becomes the one that is associated with this epistle is the brother of Jesus. Whether or not he was a follower of Jesus during his life is still up for debate, but he is given a special resurrection appearance as Paul in first Corinthians 15 eludes to. Authorities have released a summarized report of an official investigation into the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting that took place on Dec. 14, 2012. The 48-page summary that was released to the public was shortened from a report that ran into thousands of pages. However, authorities say the motive of the shooter, 20-year-old Adam Lanza, remains unknown.
According to the report, Lanza first killed his mother with .22-caliber rifle at close range as she lay in bed the morning of Dec. 14. He then drove to Sandy Hook Elementary School in a 2010 Honda Civic, parking next to a no parking zone outside of school. Officials later found a Izhmash Saiga-12, 12 gauge semi-automatic shotgun in the vehicle.
Lanza was armed with a Bushmaster XM15-E2S, a Glock 10 mm handgun and a Sig Sauer 9 mm pistol when he arrived at the school at around 9:30 a.m. He was also carrying 30-round magazines for the Bushmaster. When he found the doors were locked, he shot through the glass window to the right of the front lobby doors.
In the north hallway, Lanza shot and killed school principal Dawn Hochsprung and school psychologist Mary Sherlach. He also fired upon two other staff members in the hallway, who survived. The shooter then went into the main office, but apparently did not see the staff who were hiding inside, and returned to the hallway before entering first grade classrooms 8 and 10. It is unknown which order he entered the rooms. While there, Lanza opened fire on teachers and students, killing four teachers and 20 children.
Police received a 911 call at 9:35 a.m, and the first police officer arrived on the scene outside of school at about 9:39 a.m.
A minute later, Lanza took his own life with a single shot from a Glock 20, 10 mm pistol in classroom 10.
The entire event took place in under 11 minutes.

The Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting occurred on December 14, 2012, in Newtown, Connecticut, when 20-year-old Adam Lanza fatally shot 20 children aged between 6 and 7 years old, as well as six adult staff members. Prior to driving to the school, Lanza shot and killed his mother at their Newtown home. As first responders arrived at the scene, Lanza committed suicide by shooting himself in the head.
The incident was the deadliest mass shooting at a high school or grade school in U.S. history and the second-deadliest mass shooting by a single person in U.S. history, after the 2007 Virginia Tech shootings. The shooting prompted renewed debate about gun control in the United States, including proposals for making the background-check system universal, and for new federal and state gun legislation banning the sale and manufacture of certain types of semi-automatic firearms and magazines with more than ten rounds of ammunition. A November 2013 report issued by the Connecticut State Attorney's office concluded that Lanza acted alone and planned his actions, but no evidence collected provided any indication as to why he did so, or why he targeted the school.

Please have a look, we did our best to recreate this music just as performed by Cab's orchestra.
This is from a 1933 Betty Boop cartoon that tells a condensed and somewhat twisted version of Snow White. In the middle of the cartoon we have Cab Calloway singing St. James Infirmary Blues. This video starts with him and his orchestra, a rare live action scene that's actually from another cartoon of this era, Minnie the Moocher, a song which Calloway is most famous for. He sings that song as a Walrus and it's in a different key than what we see the orchestra performing at the beginning of that cartoon. As it turns out the footage and music that start Minnie the Moocher is clearly the same recording as the song we have here, St. James Infirmary Blues, and later in the edit I join these two pieces of audio together. He starts singing the tune as Koko the Clown, then gets morphed into a ghost. Wonderful animation that capture his annunciation and dance moves, with other wild visuals. Towards the end we see how the animators turned his live action movements into cartoon form. Included scenes from 1980 film The Blues Brothers, where Cab Calloway again performs Minnie the Moocher, which was my initial introduction to this singer and performer.

After Jesus’ crucifixion, his movement in Jerusalem was led for many decades by his brother James the Just. His historicity is confirmed by the Jewish Roman historian Josephus who records a version of James’ execution at the hands of local Jewish authorities. The Apostle Paul met James (and came into conflict with him) as the two presented different visions for the emerging Christian church. Although historians largely agree that the Epistle of James was not written by the historical James, it shares the perspective of James’ community.

There is still an open question surrounding the authorship of James. There are three main contenders in the new testament two of whom were apostles, one of whom was executed fairly early on by Herod Agrippa, and then the other one was lesser known.
The one that rises to prominence and becomes the one that is associated with this epistle is the brother of Jesus. Whether or not he was a follower of Jesus during his life is still up for debate, but he is given a special resurrection appearance as Paul in first Corinthians 15 eludes to. He rises to prominence in the early church very quickly and by Acts 15 we see him as the leader essentially, of the Jerusalem church, weighing the different discussions put before him and giving the final ruling for how the church will welcome Gentile believers.
