Dear EnviroLink User,
Since 1991, the EnviroLink Network has provided free Internet services to non-profit organizations that work on environmental and animal concerns issues. When we started this service, we were one of the only no-cost alternatives for non-profit organizations to gain a foothold on the Internet. We felt it was important for non-profits to have a no-cost method of testing the effectiveness of what was at that time a brand new medium. Twelve years later, the Internet has been accepted as a powerful communications tool by millions, and EnviroLink currently serves hundreds of organizations throughout the world. A lot has changed in those twelve years, and now EnviroLink is changing as well.
The EnviroLink Network has joined forces with the non-profit Institute for Global Communications (IGC.org) to provide the progressive non-profit community with the best possible Internet services. Since 1987, IGC has been providing the progressive community with Internet services in a professional and responsible manner. IGC is a non-profit organization committed to many of the same principles as EnviroLink. We could not think of a better organization for EnviroLink to be partnered with, and we are confident that you will agree.
Starting this week, IGC will assume responsibility for operating and supporting EnviroLink web hosting and mailing list services. You will experience no change nor interruption of your service during this time. The only change you will notice during this transition is that any support requests you may have will be answered by IGC's customer support staff.
IGC has agreed to provide all of EnviroLink's users with free service until September 15, 2003. At that time, IGC will offer web hosting and mailing list services to EnviroLink users at IGC's standard non-profit rate of $15 per month. Learn more about IGC's services and features at: http://www.igc.org/html/host.html
If you have further questions about this transition, you may find answers at the following support page: http://support.igc.org/envirolink.html
The EnviroLink Network will continue to serve the environmental and animal concerns communities through its EnviroLink.org and AnimalConcerns.org websites, which act as clearinghouses for information relating to those issues.
It has been a pleasure to serve you over the past 12 years, and we look forward to working with you in the future as a part of the IGC network.
For the earth,
Josh Knauer, Founder & Board Member
