Sivakasi alias Muthappa (Vijay) is a do-gooder in Chennai who works as a welder there. He enjoys life with his friends and forgets the past he left behind. He falls in love with a rich girl Hema (Asin) and her family accepts him as an honest and good man at heart. One day, he lashes out at his lover's brothers and Hema yells at him. Muthappa was a good boy who lived in a village named Nattarasan Kottai and who followed his parents orders. His elder brother Udayappa (Prakash Raj) who was a crook even as a child, tells him to get some fireworks for the village Deepavali festival. Muthappa obeys and Udayappa lights the firework. A woman stands on top of the bursting firecracker and begins to burn. She begs for life and is carted to the hospital. Their father (Rajesh) interrogates Sivakasi. Udayappa tells Muthappa to not tell that it was him. Muthappa is left in a long period of silence. Udayappa screams to the village that it was Muthappa. Their father thrashes Muthappa. Muthappa's sister and mother cry for him to stop, but their father pays no attention. Udayappa smirks and laughs throughout the thrashing. Muthappa is disowned and his father tells him never to show his face to him again. Muthappa secretly obtains several objects during the beating, his mother's bangles, the belt used by his father to thrash him, and his brother's glasses. Ashamed and no longer knowing who he is, Muthappa leaves for Chennai and changes his name and survives, with the sympathetic support of Venky and Mamoi, who together with Sivakasi, help him forget his past and start a welding business. Sivakasi soon makes a living as a successful welder and becomes the owner of the largest welding shop in the city, respected by the local people and a local hero. As a result, he slowly lets his horrific past drift away from him.

Arjun has won a name for himself as a toughie hero. So it is only natural for him to live up to this image. In this film, which he has also directed, he goes for the metaphorical jugular as bullets are pumped and blood oozes out in sickening profusion.
The pity is the fact that the film has a decent storyline. If only the director had managed to weave a decent script and diffused the violence, Sivakasi could have been a Tarantino kind of film (raw violence but with reason). The director in fact has done a good job in fleshing out the underside of Mumbai (its slums and its gangsters).
The story is about two friends who lose and find themselves amid the welter of gang wars and personal greed.
Kasi (Arjun) sets out to Mumbai in search of the killers of his parents. He finds two of the three, and finishes them. A don appreciates his daring and audacity and he is quickly enlisted by the bhai. Elsewhere, there is Siva (Jagapathi), he is part of another gang.

Sivakasi (Tamil: சிவகாசி ) is an active town and a municipality in Virudhunagar District in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. It is the capital of India’s firecracker industry with about 8,000 factories, big and small, producing 90 percent of the total fireworks output. Looking at the activeness of the people, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, the first Prime Minister of India nicknamed Sivakasi as "Kutti Japan" which means "Little Japan".
There are almost 400 manufacturers based in the city. Beside fireworks factories, there are many printing presses with in-house studios and artists, which produce a variety of colourful posters and calendar art.
In the 2001 Indian census, Sivakasi had a population of 72,170. Males constitute 51.76% of the population and females 48.24%. Sivakasi has an average literacy rate of 77%, higher than the national average of 74.4%: male literacy is 82%, and female literacy is 72%. In Sivakasi, 11% of the population is under 6 years of age.
Sivakasi is more than 600 years old. Between 1428 and 1460 AD, King Harikesari Parakkirama Pandian ruled the southern region of Madurai. He wanted to construct a temple for Lord Shiva at Tenkasi; so he went to Kasi (now Varanasi) and brought away a lingam. While returning to his palace with the prized lingam, he took rest under a grove of vilva trees, which are favored by Shiva. When the cow carrying the lingam refused to move from that point, the king realized that the wishes of Lord Shiva were different from his own, and placed the lingam in the place where the cow had halted. That place, sanctified by the "shivalingam brought from Kasi", came to be called Sivakasi.

Plot: Sivakasi (Vijay) is man with a golden heart. A do-gooder, who dotes on his mother and sister. The theme revolves round the sacrifices he is called upon to make the mother and sister happy. He leaves his home at the age of eight due to some fall out with his father caused by his elder brother. After many years, he decides to return to his hometown after being forced to by Hema (Asin), his girlfriend. When he arrives to his hometown, he finds out about the sinister doings of this brother Udhayappa (Prakash Raj) to his mother (Geetha) and his sister (Lakshana). He decides to stay and help his mother and sister regain their life. Till then, he will not reveal his identity. If falling in love with Asin and the associated comedy is hot in the first half, plotting to unseat his brother Prakash Raj and emoting with the status of his sister Lakshana and mother Geeta, are incredibly in the second half. Muthappa was a good boy who lived in a village named Nattarasan Kottai and who followed his parents orders. His elder brother Udayappa (Prakash Raj) who was a crook even as a child, tells him to get some fireworks for the village Deepavali festival. Muthappa obeys and Udayappa lights the firework. A woman stands on top of the bursting firecracker and begins to burn. She begs for life and is carted to the hospital. Their father (Rajesh) interrogates Sivakasi. Udayappa tells Muthappa to not tell that it was him. Muthappa is left in a long period of silence. Udayappa screams to the village that it was Muthappa. Their father thrashes Muthappa. Muthappa's sister and mother cry for him to stop, but their father pays no attention. Udayappa smirks and laughs throughout the thrashing. Muthappa is disowned and his father tells him never to show his face to him again. Arjun has won a name for himself as a toughie hero. So it is only natural for him to live up to this image. In this film, which he has also directed, he goes for the metaphorical jugular as bullets are pumped and blood oozes out in sickening profusion.
The pity is the fact that the film has a decent storyline. If only the director had managed to weave a decent script and diffused the violence, Sivakasi could have been a Tarantino kind of film (raw violence but with reason). The director in fact has done a good job in fleshing out the underside of Mumbai (its slums and its gangsters).
The story is about two friends who lose and find themselves amid the welter of gang wars and personal greed.
Kasi (Arjun) sets out to Mumbai in search of the killers of his parents. He finds two of the three, and finishes them. A don appreciates his daring and audacity and he is quickly enlisted by the bhai. Elsewhere, there is Siva (Jagapathi), he is part of another gang.

Kaveri Nisargadhama: is a 64-acreisland with lush foliage of thick bamboo groves, sandalwood and teak trees island formed and surrounded by river Kaveri. It is approximately 3 km from Kushalanagara town in coorg. The island is accessible through a hanging rope bridge.Its a must place to visit in coorg trip.
Raja's seat offers a panoramic view of the whole of Coorg hills. Apparently, erstwhile kings of Mysore would come to this place to rest and view the Coorg hills. Every evening, musical fountain is played to the tunes of popular kannada and hindi numbers.
Bhagmandala is a confluence of three rivers and is considered a sacred place. It is at a distance of 38km from Madikeri.
The Mandalpatti hills in coorg are one of the best trekking spots in Coorg. Mandalpatti hills are located around 30 km from Madikeri town in Coorg.Its an absolutely scenic place in Coorg.
Buddhist Namdroling Monastery and Golden Temple at Bylakuppe near Coorg. Bylakuppe is a Tibetian Refugee settlement in Kodagu
Talakaveri / Talacauvery : River Kaveri which is one of the 7 sacred rivers of Sapta Sindhus of the Hindu scriptures, originated at a place is called Talakaveri (head of Cauvery) in the Brahmagiri hills, at about 4,500 ft above sea level. This place is marked by a tirtha kundike or Brahma kundike (small spring/pond) from where the river emerges as a small perennial spring, but flows underground again to emerge a short distance away. It is about 48 km from Madikeri, Coorg.
Major Resorts and Hotels in Coorg are :Orange County Coorg ,Misty Mercara , Club Mahindra Kodagu Valley Resort etc . There are also very good homestays in coorg situated away from the main town (Madikeri) and are best suited to people who prefer nature over traditional sightseeing .
