You may know Mark Hamill from Star Wars: A New Hope, Empire Strikes Back, and Return of the Jedi but you probably haven't seen many of his other films. Aside from working as a voice actor over the last few decades, Mark Hamill has starred in some “interesting” films over his lengthy career. Corvette Summer (MGM, 1978) In Corvette Summer, Mark Hamill drops his lightsaber and picks up a wrench to help rebuild a wicked Corvette in shop class. He does such a good job that someone decides to steal it. The next half of the movie he spends trying to get the Corvette back without help from Obi Wan Kenobi. Corvette Summer falls into the, it's so bad it's good movie category. Watchers Reborn (New Horizons, 1998) How can you not fall instantly in love with a movie like Watchers Reborn. It's about a super smart dog and a detective trying to stop the killing spree of a genetically modified soldier? The Big Red One (Lorimar Prod., 1980) The Big Red One follows a small group of soldiers doing their best to survive WW2, while all around them greenhorns drop like microphones at a rap concert. Mark Hamill doesn't have a huge role in the film but gets a lot of on-screen time. Aside from the novelty of seeing Luke Skywalker storm a beach head, it's a pretty decent war film. Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back (Dimension Films/View Askew, 2001) Mark Hamill gets his hands on another lightsaber and battles Jay & Silent Bob as the very evil Cock-Knocker – a villain whose name is self explanatory. Midnight Ride (Cannon Pictures Inc., 1990) In Midnight Ride, Mr. Hamill does his best to shake off his good boy image and takes on the role of a very twisted serial killer. Time Runner (Excalibur Pictures, 1993) Finally Luke, I mean Mark gets to fly a spaceship again. This time he's sucked back through time to the year 1992 in order to save humanity from Alien invaders. Eric (Hallmark Hall of Fame/Lorimar Prod., 1975) This film is no Empire of Jedi Strikes a New Hope (yes, that's the name of my Star Wars fanboy movie) but Mark Hamill does a good job playing the brother of a young man with cancer. Virtually Heroes (New Horizons Picture, 2013) In this amusing Roger Corman film about FPS video game characters struggling with their existence, our favorite jedi taps deep into his spiritual side to play a funny monk. The City (Quinn Martin Prod., 1977) Mark Hamill channels the Dark Side to play a cuckoo banana bird who has a bone to pick with a country singer. As he tears a path towards vengeance, only person can stop him - Don Johnson. Fall of the Eagles (Bel Film, 1989) I've decided Mark Hamill deserves a legendary name like David Hasselhoff's - “The Hoff”. I'm hoping the nickname, “The Hamill” will catch on. In Fall of the Eagles The Hamill dons a German accent for a role as a Nazi officer caught in a complicated love affair with a woman who's jumped into the sack with more men than a bed bug colony.
