Tygert Burton "Ty" Pennington (born Gary Tygert Burton on October 19, 1964, in Atlanta, Georgia) is an American television host, model, philanthropist and carpenter. He is most notable for having been the host of Extreme Makeover: Home Edition which aired on ABC in the US until its cancellation in December 2011 and will return with specials and Ty's Great British Adventure, which airs on UKTV home in the UK and TV LAND. Previously, Pennington was a carpenter on the TLC reality show Trading Spaces. Currently, he manufactures a line of furniture with the Howard Miller Company.
Tygert Pennington was born on October 19, 1964, as Gary Tygert Burton, the second son of school psychologist Yvonne Burton. Yvonne separated from Ty's father when he and his older brother Wynn were very young, and spent several years as a single parent before she eventually remarried. Her new husband adopted both boys, giving them both the Pennington name. Pennington grew up in Atlanta, Georgia, primarily in his hometown of Marietta. He was also diagnosed with ADHD when he was 17.

The Revolution premiered on the ABC network on January 16, 2012, as the replacement show for the soap opera series One Life to Live. The series is hosted by Project Runway's Tim Gunn, who consults on style and fashion topics, fitness trainer Harley Pasternak, designer Ty Pennington, Dr. Jennifer Ashton, who consults on medical matters, and therapist/relationship expert Dr. Tiffanie Davis.
The Revolution concentrate on changing positively the lives of overweight women. The show not only consists of weight loss, but also of other aspects including mental, health, style and home environment.
Through a casting call, women send to the show videos of themselves about what they would like to change. A customized plan is established offscreen to help each woman achieve its goals. The women later appear on the program to present their progress and accomplishments, which is usually featured in the form of a week-long chronological timeline of their progress, and later check-back segments.
Jennifer Lee Ashton (born April 23, 1969, on George Air Force Base in California) is a physician, author and television medical contributor.
Ashton was born in California to Dr. Oscar Garfein (a New York City cardiologist) and Dorothy Garfein (a registered nurse). She is married to physician and surgeon, Dr. Robert C. Ashton, Jr., and has two children, Alex and Chloë.
She was educated at the Horace Mann School in Riverdale, New York, where she graduated in French and English. She received her BA undergraduate degree from Columbia College, Columbia University in 1991 and her MD from Columbia College of Physicians and Surgeons of Columbia University in 2000. Ashton is a board-certified Ob-Gyn and attending physician at Englewood Hospital and Medical Center, an affiliate of Mount Sinai Medical Center, in Englewood, New Jersey. She is the Founder of Hygeia Gynecology, LLC, her private medical practice in New Jersey.
Ashton has authored a book for adolescent girls, titled "The Body Scoop for Girls". "The Body Scoop for Girls" was published by Avery, the health division of Penguin Publishing. She has also written articles for various magazines, and is the author of a health blog for The Bergen Record, a northern New Jersey newspaper.
