Khaosan Road or Khao San Road (Thai: ถนนข้าวสาร) is a short street in central Bangkok, Thailand. It is in the Banglamphu area of (Phra Nakhon district) about 1 kilometre (0.62 mi) north of the Grand Palace and Wat Phra Kaew.
"Khaosan" translates as "milled rice", a reminder that in former times the street was a major Bangkok rice market. In the last 20 years, however, Khaosan Road has developed into a world famous "backpacker ghetto". It offers cheap accommodation, ranging from "mattress in a box" style hotels to reasonably priced 3-star hotels. In an essay on the backpacker culture of Khaosan Road, Susan Orlean called it "the place to disappear". It is also a base of travel: coaches leave daily for all major tourist destinations in Thailand, from Chiang Mai in the north to Ko Pha Ngan in the south, and there are many relatively inexpensive travel agents who can arrange visas and transportation to the neighbouring countries of Cambodia, Laos, Malaysia, and Vietnam.
Khaosan shops sell handcrafts, paintings, clothes, local fruits, unlicensed CDs, DVDs, a wide range of fake IDs, used books, plus many useful backpacker items.

WARNING - 1:30 to 2:00 is a bit gritty so feel free to skip forward this part. I've put music over it to try to lighten the feel, at the time I nearly puked due to the foul stench in the air. http://bangkok112.com/khaosan-road-on-a-quiet-night/ Visit the website for a blog of another night on KSR. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- http://www.agoda.com/d-d-inn/hotel/bangkok-th.html?cid=1738634 Click for the latest prices of the most famous Khaosan road hotel. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- https://youtu.be/...

The khao san road nightlife is crazy but we'll get to that later. Todays adventure starts by us leaving our amazing hotel in Chiang Mai (Thapae loft - link below) and almost missing the flight due to some unforseen Thai traffic. We took a very short flight from Chiang Mai to Bangkok for just about $40US a really great way to save time! From the airport we took a 40min taxi ride to the famous khao san road. We found a great hotel right on khao san road for pretty cheap, it's our last few days so we decided to live the high life and spend $60US haha. khao san road is not for everyone, there are tons of people, parties and did I mention people :) But we ...

The boat that failed it's only sail
is burning in the river
It's heating up the water mains
while the rest of the house just shivers
It's sinking fast
straight through the grass
A buoyant mask
A medical grasp
and that... was
all I had to give her
...but I will take my hand's mistakes
Stay afloat in
this flushing river
With the smell of your soul
and fix the bridge that
bowed
from the blows that age delivers
But I fear collapse...
as your
weight will pass
You know... I love you more that you will know
Something
is coming for us
t's coming through the vents
.for the worst and
best.
And so it seems
Like old beliefs...
We're struggling in the
water
Fishing for a fish that knows
of a way to save the other...
Don't turn
blue
It's turning the room...
and as it spins the violence
coats the walls
in bother...
Carousels and comet tails
are somewhere in this river
...and
