Khaosan Road
Khaosan Road or Khao San Road (Thai: ถนนข้าวสาร) is a short street in central Bangkok, Thailand. It is in the Banglamphu area of (Phra Nakhon district) about 1 kilometre (0.62 mi) north of the Grand Palace and Wat Phra Kaew.
"Khaosan" translates as "milled rice", a reminder that in former times the street was a major Bangkok rice market. In the last 20 years, however, Khaosan Road has developed into a world famous "backpacker ghetto". It offers cheap accommodation, ranging from "mattress in a box" style hotels to reasonably priced 3-star hotels. In an essay on the backpacker culture of Khaosan Road, Susan Orlean called it "the place to disappear". It is also a base of travel: coaches leave daily for all major tourist destinations in Thailand, from Chiang Mai in the north to Ko Pha Ngan in the south, and there are many relatively inexpensive travel agents who can arrange visas and transportation to the neighbouring countries of Cambodia, Laos, Malaysia, and Vietnam.
Khaosan shops sell handcrafts, paintings, clothes, local fruits, unlicensed CDs, DVDs, a wide range of fake IDs, used books, plus many useful backpacker items.

Daily Thailand Travel Vlog #59 - Bangkok 2016 - Backpacking in Thailand has now brought us to the famous Bangkok, khao san road to be exact. The khao san road nightlife is crazy but we'll get to that later. Todays adventure starts by us leaving our amazing hotel in Chiang Mai (Thapae loft - link below) and almost missing the flight due to some unforseen Thai traffic. We took a very short flight from Chiang Mai to Bangkok for just about $40US a really great way to save time! From the airport we took a 40min taxi ride to the famous khao san road. Daily Thailand Travel Vlog #59 - Bangkok 2016 - Backpacking in Thailand has now brought us to the famous Bangkok, khao san road to be exact. Todays adventure starts by us leaving our amazing hotel in Chiang Mai (Thapae loft - link below) and almost missing the flight due to some unforseen Thai traffic. We took a very short flight from Chiang Mai to Bangkok for just about $40US a really great way to save time! From the airport we took a 40min taxi ride to the famous khao san road. We found a great hotel right on khao san road for pretty cheap, it's our last few days so we decided to live the high life and spend $60US haha. khao san road is not for everyone, there are tons of people, parties and did I mention people :) But we are always super stoked no matter where we are and just like to go with the flow and soak up the bangkok nightlife. Sorry forgot to mention we found some great vegan food just a few streets away (Astrid was stoked). Ok so the nightlife sucked us in and just like in Hangover 2 the line "Bangkok has him now" totally applied to us. We did a lot of dancing, eating and jumping around (actually a pretty good workout) and exploring all the neat little resteraunts bars and Bangkok street food. The night went by so fast and now it's morning, so it's time to go exploring :)

How to Vlog? This is the question I asked myself as I started out the new year. I am always looking to be more creative and I decided that this year will be the year that I start a daily vlog. So sitback and step into my daily life.
Vlogging is totally new to me, but I hope to bring you on all my travels, adventures and all around exploring.
A little bit about myself:
I live in San Diego and love all things creative. I am a webmaster for work but do all sorts of things including design, photography and anything that involves using my hands or creativity.
My wife and I are avid rock climbers and love go to on adventures in our 88 Vanagon. We traveled to last year all around Mexico, China, Bali, Hawaii and throughout California and Neveda. I am hoping that 2016 will bring more excitement and more travels, so be sure to subscribe :)

We took a very short flight from Chiang Mai to Bangkok for just about $40US a really great way to save time! From the airport we took a 40min taxi ride to the famous khao san road. We found a great hotel right on khao san road for pretty cheap, it's our last few days so we decided to live the high life and spend $60US haha. khao san road is not for everyone, there are tons of people, parties and did I mention people :) But we are always super stoked no matter where we are and just like to go with the flow and soak up the bangkok nightlife. Sorry forgot to mention we found some great vegan food just a few streets away (Astrid was stoked). Ok so the nightlife sucked us in and just like in Hangover 2 the line "Bangkok has him now" totally applied to us. We did a lot of dancing, eating and jumping around (actually a pretty good workout) and exploring all the neat little resteraunts bars and Bangkok street food. The night went by so fast and now it's morning, so it's time to go exploring :)

How to Vlog? This is the question I asked myself as I started out the new year. I am always looking to be more creative and I decided that this year will be the year that I start a daily vlog. So sitback and step into my daily life.
Vlogging is totally new to me, but I hope to bring you on all my travels, adventures and all around exploring.
A little bit about myself:
I live in San Diego and love all things creative. I am a webmaster for work but do all sorts of things including design, photography and anything that involves using my hands or creativity.
My wife and I are avid rock climbers and love go to on adventures in our 88 Vanagon. We traveled to last year all around Mexico, China, Bali, Hawaii and throughout California and Neveda. I am hoping that 2016 will bring more excitement and more travels, so be sure to subscribe :)

In the world's most visited city, Khao San is known as the biggest backpacker street in the world. Come for the beer, street food, night life, cheap hostels, laughing gas balloons (whip-its), phad thai, clothes shopping, and night clubs such as The Club, Lava & Brick Bar.
