Plot: A satire on inflation-hit middle-class Indian family from a small city in North India. The story revolves around our protagonist who is struggling to survive in this spiraling inflation and how he comes up with a solution to battle it, only to find himself in an even bigger mess due to their innocence and naivety. The story is laced with undertones of sociopolitical issues as well traditions that reflects struggle of the 'average' man, while entertaining that makes you laugh ( and cry) at yourself and the situations that one faces on a daily basis.

Plot: Silsila is the "manager" of one traffic signal, that is he collects the "hafta" (protection tax) from each signal squatter plying his trade. There's Tsunami, a little scavenger boy, there's Rani - a Gujrati girl selling ethnic clothes on the sidewalk, and there's Dominic - a drug addict and the prostitute who feels for him. Then there's Silsila himself, who's an orphan, and reports to Jaffer bhai the local goon. Jaffer bhai in turn reports to Haji the leader of the local mafia. And the hafta, from each traffic signal and territory Haji controls, seeps upward to the politicians. Life is routine, until Silsila and Jaffer bhai get caught up in a chain of events which threatens the very source of their livelihood - the traffic signal itself, and Silsila must either remain mute with fear or protest . . .

Plot: Pregnant Gulabo Kaur is devastated when her entire family is slaughtered by Jaildhar Jung Singh and his goons, when the later finds out that her brother-in-law, Jasbinder, had dared to woo his daughter, Bebo Kaur. Gulabo swears to avenge this humiliation by forcing a marriage between her son and Jung's daughter. She spends the rest of her life training her son, Jagga, to overcome Jung and his goons, but will soon realize that her son will not only have to face-off against Jung, his goons, but also his three sons; a gun-toting daughter, Lalli Kaur, who would rather kill Jagga than wed him; as well as Choudhary Joravar Singh and his son, Shamsher, who wants to wed Lalli at any and all costs.

Plot: Nawab Safdarjung( Kumar ) lives in Delhi with his family and is a very fun loving person. She has a daughter Zarina ( Meena Kumari ) who is of marriageable age. While there are other candidates to hold her hand, the Nawab decides on Akbar ( Shekhar ) a young son of a noble nawab family from Lucknow. Everything goes well until few minutes before the marriage ceremony, Ibrahim ( played by Jeevan ) divulges to the Nawab that Akbar is only a son of a mali ( gardener ) and has no respectable family trace in his blood. The Nawab becomes furious and dissolves the marriage ceremony but Zarina decides to go the in-laws house and accepts Akbar as her husband. Akbar in the meantime disappears from his home and ends up in Cairo ( Egypt) and takes a job as a Manager of a factory. Zarina and her mother still waiting for words from Akbar when some money is sent to them by Akbar. In Cairo a dancer falls in love with Akbar and writes a letter to Zarina and her mother that Akbar is dead. Watch how this triangular love story ends with Akbar eventually comes back to his homeland and rejoins with his wife Zarina.
