Kingsteignton /kɪŋˈsteɪntən/, colloquially known as K'Town, is a town and civil parish in South Devon, England. It lies at the head of the Teign Estuary to the west of Teignmouth in the Teignbridge district. It is bypassed by the A380 and is also on the A383, A381, B3193 and B3195.
Kingsteignton was, until recently, purported to be the largest village in England, with a population of over 11,000, reducing slightly to 10,600 in 2011. The threat of being incorporated into the nearby town of Newton Abbot prompted the parish council to change the village's status to a town itself: the change took effect from 1 January 2009. The town has two electoral wards(east and west). Their combined populations at the 2011 census was 11,147
Founded in the early 8th century by the kings of Wessex as the centre of a vast Saxon estate that extended from Teignmouth to Manaton, Kingsteignton was a key settlement in Saxon times and gave its name to the Saxon hundred of Teignton. The hundred moot or court was held in the village but it appears that by the time of the Domesday Survey the name of the hundred had been changed to Teignbridge, possibly indicating that the site of the court had been moved. As a royal vill Kingsteignton provided rich pickings for Danish raiders who plundered it in 1001.

The Wednesday Evening Ringers Association February 2014 Meeting: Kingsteignton, Devon. Footage shows rising 8-bells in peal, a selection of call-changes being rung on 8-bells and concludes with lowering 8-bells in peal. For those that are interested, Kingsteignton ringers have a long and impressive history in competition ringing. They hold the record for the greatest number of Devon Association 8-Bell wins (currently 21), whilst their captain, Ian Avery, has won the title ringing every bell from treble down to tenor. A remarkable achievement which is unlikely ever to be matched. Kingsteignton ringers have also amassed several "Tawstock Shield" and "South-Devon 8-Bell" wins not to mention numerous invitation competition wins down through the years. Ringers: Colin Adams, Scott Adams, St...
