Scott Douglas McDonald (born 21 August 1983) is an Australian professional footballer currently playing for Motherwell. Originally a striker, McDonald can also play as an attacking midfielder.
McDonald began his career at Doveton, before joining Casey Comets. He made three appearances on loan from his Victorian State League club, Cranbourne Comets, with Gippsland Falcons in the ANSL, where he became the club's youngest ever NSL player, replacing Jason Marsh, when making his first-team debut aged just fifteen.
McDonald started off as a trainee with Southampton in 2001 where he managed only three appearances (one first-team start and two as a substitute), being loaned to Huddersfield Town where again he had chances to play first team football. McDonald scored just once for Huddersfield, in a 2–1 defeat to Tranmere Rovers and Bournemouth (scoring once against Shrewsbury). Upon reaching the end of his contract with Southampton he signed for Wimbledon on a rolling monthly contract.

The UEFA Champions League, known simply as the Champions League, is an annual continental club football competition organised by the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) and contested by top-division European clubs. It is one of the most prestigious tournaments in the world and the most prestigious club competition in European football, played by the national league champion (and, for some nations, one or more runners-up) of each UEFA national association. The final of the 2012–13 tournament was the most watched UEFA Champions League final to date, as well as the most watched annual sporting event worldwide in 2013, drawing 360 million television viewers.
Introduced in 1992, the competition replaced the European Champion Clubs' Cup, or simply European Cup, which had run since 1955, adding a group stage to the competition and allowing multiple entrants from certain countries. The pre-1992 competition was initially a straight knockout tournament open only to the champion club of each country. During the 1990s, the format was expanded, incorporating a round-robin group stage to include clubs that finished runner-up of some nations' top level league. While most of Europe's national leagues can still only enter their national league champion, Europe's strongest national leagues now provide up to four teams for the competition, and will provide up to five teams from the 2015–16 season onwards. Clubs that finish next-in-line in each nation's top level league, having not qualified for the UEFA Champions League competition, may be eligible for the next level UEFA Europa League competition.
The 2004–05 Scottish Premier League was won by Rangers.
As league champions, Rangers qualified for the UEFA Champions League, with runners-up Celtic also qualifying. Third-placed Hibernian qualified for the UEFA Cup, as did Dundee United, who took the Scottish Cup place despite losing the final to Celtic.
Dundee were relegated, and Scottish First Division winners Falkirk were promoted.
John Hartson was the top scorer with 25 goals for Celtic, whose manager Martin O'Neill stepped down at the end of the season after five years and a host of major trophies.

He delves into first moving over to the UK and winning a contract with Southampton where he would play with the likes of Premier League legend Matt Le Tissier and eventually be managed and let go by his future Celtic manager Gordon Strachan. This departure then leads to his move to Motherwell, where the boys have a laugh about the colourful characters that he shared a dressing room with and the chaotic culture that was present under manager Terry Butcher at the time.
The elephant in the room is addressed in Episode 2 as Scott gives his insight into Helicopter Sunday and what his immediate thoughts were following the game including which teammate managed to pick him up out of the chaos. The boys also go on to chat about the bid that was received by Rangers for Scott and what his views were on a potential move to Ibrox. However, he goes on to beam about his dream move to Celtic Park and discusses the start to his career with the Hoops as well as the excellent education he received under Gordon Strachan.
