In this video, Patrick Adair Designs the one ring to rule them all. Inspired by the popular movie franchise Lord of the Rings Patrick casts a solid gold ring. The process starts by machining a copy of the ring out of wax on a lathe. The wax is then used to create a plaster mold that is cured in a furnace. Patrick then melts gold and pours it into the mold. This makes a solid gold ring. I then laser engrave the ring with gibberish from an open-source font available on the internet. The last step is filling the ring with glow poder to make a glow ring. Making the one ring to rule them all was one of the most fun and requested projects on this channel.

A note on our interpretation:
The One Ring is the symbol of all evil. But there are so many forms that evil can take and so it was our challenge and adventure to try and give musical form to this all encompassing evil, (while still remembering that good will always triumph over any evil).
The song begins with the legend of the forging of the rings, and our goal was to paint each of the races a little differently, including a literal interpretation of having 3, 7, 9, and 1 voices to speak for each of the rings. Then the song depicts the forging of the One Ring whilst Sauron speaks in the Black speech. The “One Ring theme” enters in, bare and minimal since no one yet knows the impact or power of this evil. The song returns to the original themes as a last glance before the one ring theme returns to overshadow them all. One by one, the themes are pulled into the vicious “ring cycle” as the music circles around, growing darker and more intense.
Evil is often at first attractive (i.e. the ring), and a person who is enslaved by a bad habit/sin (e.g. Smeagol, Isildur, etc.) often does not realize their peril until they are already caught up in the vicious cycle of evil, which in the end, leaves them empty and possessed of nothing. These are the sentiments that color the “ring cycle” of the latter part of the song.

A forge appears where someone is casting some rings.
GALADRIEL VOICE OVER: It began with the forging of the Great Rings.
Three hands are shown.
GALADRIEL VOICE OVER: Three were given to the elves. (Galadriel looks at her ring Gil-Galad and Cirdan are behind her looking at theirs.) Immortal, wisest and fairest of all beings. (seven rings are shown on a table and picked up by dwarves who admire them and hold them up in the air.) Seven to the dwarf lords, great miners and craftsmen of the mountain halls. (The camera moves back and focuses in on nine men all holding one ring each and looking at them.) And nine, nine rings were gifted to the race of men. (They drop their arms to their sides) Who above all else, desire power. (They fade away to a black screen.)
Changes to show a map of Middle Earth.
GALADRIEL VOICE OVER: For within these rings was bound the strength and will to govern each race. (The map moves towards Mordor.) But they were all of them deceived. (Black screen.) For another ring was made. (Map reappears showing Mordor.) In the land of Mordor, (Mount Doom appears on the screen.) in the fires of Mount Doom (Changes to show Sauron wreathed in flames.) the dark Lord Sauron forged in secret a master Ring (Shows Sauron in full armour holding the Ring.) to control all others and into this Ring he poured all his cruelty, his malice (fire moves across the screen and the Ring appears spinning over and over.) and his will to dominate all life. (Shows Sauron's finger with the one Ring on it.) One Ring to rule them all.
The scene changes to show the map of Middle Earth again. Scenes of strife and war fade in behind the map
GALADRIEL VOICE OVER: One by one the free lands of Middle Earth fell to the power of the Ring. But there were some who resisted. (Changes to show soldiers advancing on a battlefield.) A last alliance of Elves and Men marched against the armies of Mordor. And on the slopes of Mount Doom they fought for the freedom of Middle Earth.
We see the armies of Orcs battling with the armies of Elves and Men.
ELROND: Tangado haid! (Hold positions!)
The Elves bring up their shields.
ELROND: Leithio i philinn! (Fire arrows!)
The Elves fire arrows into the Orc ranks. The Orcs advance and the Elves bring up their swords to slash into the front line. The battle ensues and is very fierce. We see Gil-Galad spear an Orc on the ground. Elendil brandishes his sword.
GALADRIEL VOICE OVER: Victory was near. (Elrond stops fighting, Elendil stops fighting, they look up in fear.) But the power of the Ring (Sauron steps onto the battlefield with the Ring on his finger.) could not be undone.
The Elves and Men back off looking fearful. Sauron comes forward. He swings his mace scattering Men and Elves all over the field. Elendil moves forward to try to engage him, but he is thrown away by the mace. He crumples against the rock, dropping his sword.
GALADRIEL VOICE OVER: It was in this moment, (Isildur moves towards his father, takes his helmet off and holds Elendil to him.) that Isildur, son of the King, took up his father's sword.
Isildur looks up at Sauron and dives for his father's sword. Sauron stamps on it breaking it. He makes a grab for Isildur who swipes at his hand with the broken sword, severing the finger with the Ring on it. It falls to the ground. Elendil opens his eyes and looks at it in astonishment. Isildur looks up at Sauron who begins to glow brighter and brighter. There is a massive explosion sending a shock wave all across the armies, knocking the soldiers from their feet. Sauron's helmet crashes to the ground.
GALADRIEL VOICE OVER: Sauron, the enemy of the Free Peoples of Middle Earth was defeated.

The One Ring was one of the most powerful artifacts ever created in Middle-earth. It was crafted by the Dark Lord Sauron in the fire of Orodruin, also known as Mount Doom, during the Second Age. Sauron's intent was to enhance his own power, and to exercise control over the other Rings of Power, which had been made by Celebrimbor and his people with Sauron's assistance. In this way, he hoped to gain lordship over the Elves and all of the other races in Middle-earth.

THE HISTORY OF THE RING THEME, a theme for The One Ring, is used "whenever the One Ring changes hands or marks significant progress in its journey". (Doug Adams, CR-FOTR liner notes, page 7)
The music is light, almost lyrical, throughout FOTR and TTT. But in ROTK, the History of the Ring combines with the Evil of the Ring (Mordor/Sauron). The minor key and reedy rhaita of Sauron's theme give a more menacing tone to the History of the Ring.
MORDER/SAURON aka THE EVIL OF THE RING THEME, has two names and is assigned to two categories: Mordor and The One Ring. The theme represents "the Ring's "character... (and its) effect on the world." (Doug Adams, CR--FOTR liner notes, page 29) and "the most villainous inclinations of the Ring and for Mordor itself." (Doug Adams, CR--FOTR liner notes, page 9)
Since this music has been identified as Sauron's Theme from the inception of the site, I will continue to use that as the primary name.

THE FATE OF THE RING, a theme for The One Ring, appeared once as an "incomplete phrase" in the TTT.
It reappeared in the ROTK as the Fourth Age Theme, THE DESTRUCTION OF THE RING, not while we see the destruction of the Ring but when we see the result of the Ring's destruction has on Barad-dûr and the lands surrounding it.

One Ring
The One Ring is an artefact that appears as the central plot element in J. R. R. Tolkien's The Lord of the Rings (1954–55). It is described in an earlier story, The Hobbit (1937), as a magic ring of invisibility. In the sequel, The Lord of the Rings, Tolkien ascribes to the Ring a darker character, with malevolent power going far beyond conferring invisibility: it was created by Sauron the Dark Lord as part of his design to win domination over Middle-earth. The Lord of the Rings concerns the quest to destroy the Ring to keep Sauron from fulfilling his design.
Literature
In The Lord of the Rings and the posthumously published The Silmarillion, Tolkien provides a detailed internal development from the forging of the Ring to its destruction. In the fictional context of Middle-earth, these events take place during several thousand years in the Second and Third Age of Arda.
Description
The One Ring was forged by the Dark Lord Sauron during the Second Age to gain dominion over the free peoples of Middle-earth. In disguise as Annatar, or "Lord of Gifts", he aided the Elven smiths of Eregion and their leader Celebrimbor in the making of the Rings of Power. He then forged the One Ring himself in the fires of Mount Doom.

The One Ring Roleplaying Game
The One Ring Roleplaying Game (first released in 2011 under the title The One Ring: Adventures over the Edge of the Wild) is a tabletop role-playing game published by Cubicle 7. It is set in J.R.R. Tolkien's Middle-earth, in the time between The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings. Since its release, a number of other materials have been published, with more on the way.
History of the game and general description
The game was first published in 2011 under the title The One Ring: Adventures over the Edge of the Wild. This first edition core book (more exactly two booklets in a cardboard case) and the majority of subsequent products supported play in the portion of the region of Rhovanion known as "The Wild", the setting of the later portions of The Hobbit east of the Misty Mountains. That was due to the project (nowadays abandoned) of releasing two other up-coming core books dealing with other regions, countries and kingdoms of the Middle-earth, but instead of pursuing with the idea of releasing two more core books, a revised edition was released in Summer 2014, which saw the original two-volume slipcase set combined into a single hardback edition. This version was substantially re-edited and re-laid out, with errata and clarifications added. Cubicle 7 also released a Clarifications and Amendments Document at the same time, to support owners of the previous edition. The name was changed from The One Ring: Adventures Over the Edge of the Wild to The One Ring Roleplaying Game.

In this video, Patrick Adair Designs the one ring to rule them all. Inspired by the popular movie franchise Lord of the Rings Patrick casts a solid gold ring. The process starts by machining a copy of the ring out of wax on a lathe. The wax is then used to create a plaster mold that is cured in a furnace. Patrick then melts gold and pours it into the mold. This makes a solid gold ring. I then laser engrave the ring with gibberish from an open-source font available on the internet. The last step is filling the ring with glow poder to make a glow ring. Making the one ring to rule them all was one of the most fun and requested projects on this channel.

A note on our interpretation:
The One Ring is the symbol of all evil. But there are so many forms that evil can take and so it was our challenge and adventure to try and give musical form to this all encompassing evil, (while still remembering that good will always triumph over any evil).
The song begins with the legend of the forging of the rings, and our goal was to paint each of the races a little differently, including a literal interpretation of having 3, 7, 9, and 1 voices to speak for each of the rings. Then the song depicts the forging of the One Ring whilst Sauron speaks in the Black speech. The “One Ring theme” enters in, bare and minimal since no one yet knows the impact or power of this evil. The song returns to the original themes as a last glance before the one ring theme returns to overshadow them all. One by one, the themes are pulled into the vicious “ring cycle” as the music circles around, growing darker and more intense.
Evil is often at first attractive (i.e. the ring), and a person who is enslaved by a bad habit/sin (e.g. Smeagol, Isildur, etc.) often does not realize their peril until they are already caught up in the vicious cycle of evil, which in the end, leaves them empty and possessed of nothing. These are the sentiments that color the “ring cycle” of the latter part of the song.

In the land of Mordor, (Mount Doom appears on the screen.) in the fires of Mount Doom (Changes to show Sauron wreathed in flames.) the dark Lord Sauron forged in secret a master Ring (Shows Sauron in full armour holding the Ring.) to control all others and into this Ring he poured all his cruelty, his malice (fire moves across the screen and the Ring appears spinning over and over.) and his will to dominate all life. (Shows Sauron's finger with the one Ring on it.) One Ring to rule them all.
The scene changes to show the map of Middle Earth again. Scenes of strife and war fade in behind the map
GALADRIEL VOICE OVER: One by one the free lands of Middle Earth fell to the power of the Ring. But there were some who resisted. (Changes to show soldiers advancing on a battlefield.) A last alliance of Elves and Men marched against the armies of Mordor. And on the slopes of Mount Doom they fought for the freedom of Middle Earth.
We see the armies of Orcs battling with the armies of Elves and Men.
ELROND: Tangado haid! (Hold positions!)
The Elves bring up their shields.
ELROND: Leithio i philinn! (Fire arrows!)
The Elves fire arrows into the Orc ranks. The Orcs advance and the Elves bring up their swords to slash into the front line. The battle ensues and is very fierce. We see Gil-Galad spear an Orc on the ground. Elendil brandishes his sword.
GALADRIEL VOICE OVER: Victory was near. (Elrond stops fighting, Elendil stops fighting, they look up in fear.) But the power of the Ring (Sauron steps onto the battlefield with the Ring on his finger.) could not be undone.
The Elves and Men back off looking fearful. Sauron comes forward. He swings his mace scattering Men and Elves all over the field. Elendil moves forward to try to engage him, but he is thrown away by the mace. He crumples against the rock, dropping his sword.
GALADRIEL VOICE OVER: It was in this moment, (Isildur moves towards his father, takes his helmet off and holds Elendil to him.) that Isildur, son of the King, took up his father's sword.
Isildur looks up at Sauron and dives for his father's sword. Sauron stamps on it breaking it. He makes a grab for Isildur who swipes at his hand with the broken sword, severing the finger with the Ring on it. It falls to the ground. Elendil opens his eyes and looks at it in astonishment. Isildur looks up at Sauron who begins to glow brighter and brighter. There is a massive explosion sending a shock wave all across the armies, knocking the soldiers from their feet. Sauron's helmet crashes to the ground.
GALADRIEL VOICE OVER: Sauron, the enemy of the Free Peoples of Middle Earth was defeated.

In the land of Mordor, (Mount Doom appears on the screen.) in the fires of Mount Doom (Changes to show Sauron wreathed in flames.) the dark Lord Sauron forged in secret a master Ring (Shows Sauron in full armour holding the Ring.) to control all others and into this Ring he poured all his cruelty, his malice (fire moves across the screen and the Ring appears spinning over and over.) and his will to dominate all life. (Shows Sauron's finger with the one Ring on it.) One Ring to rule them all.
The scene changes to show the map of Middle Earth again. Scenes of strife and war fade in behind the map
GALADRIEL VOICE OVER: One by one the free lands of Middle Earth fell to the power of the Ring. But there were some who resisted. (Changes to show soldiers advancing on a battlefield.) A last alliance of Elves and Men marched against the armies of Mordor. And on the slopes of Mount Doom they fought for the freedom of Middle Earth.
We see the armies of Orcs battling with the armies of Elves and Men.
ELROND: Tangado haid! (Hold positions!)
The Elves bring up their shields.
ELROND: Leithio i philinn! (Fire arrows!)
The Elves fire arrows into the Orc ranks. The Orcs advance and the Elves bring up their swords to slash into the front line. The battle ensues and is very fierce. We see Gil-Galad spear an Orc on the ground. Elendil brandishes his sword.
GALADRIEL VOICE OVER: Victory was near. (Elrond stops fighting, Elendil stops fighting, they look up in fear.) But the power of the Ring (Sauron steps onto the battlefield with the Ring on his finger.) could not be undone.
The Elves and Men back off looking fearful. Sauron comes forward. He swings his mace scattering Men and Elves all over the field. Elendil moves forward to try to engage him, but he is thrown away by the mace. He crumples against the rock, dropping his sword.
GALADRIEL VOICE OVER: It was in this moment, (Isildur moves towards his father, takes his helmet off and holds Elendil to him.) that Isildur, son of the King, took up his father's sword.
Isildur looks up at Sauron and dives for his father's sword. Sauron stamps on it breaking it. He makes a grab for Isildur who swipes at his hand with the broken sword, severing the finger with the Ring on it. It falls to the ground. Elendil opens his eyes and looks at it in astonishment. Isildur looks up at Sauron who begins to glow brighter and brighter. There is a massive explosion sending a shock wave all across the armies, knocking the soldiers from their feet. Sauron's helmet crashes to the ground.
GALADRIEL VOICE OVER: Sauron, the enemy of the Free Peoples of Middle Earth was defeated.

THE HISTORY OF THE RING THEME, a theme for The One Ring, is used "whenever the One Ring changes hands or marks significant progress in its journey". (Doug Adams, CR-FOTR liner notes, page 7)
The music is light, almost lyrical, throughout FOTR and TTT. But in ROTK, the History of the Ring combines with the Evil of the Ring (Mordor/Sauron). The minor key and reedy rhaita of Sauron's theme give a more menacing tone to the History of the Ring.
MORDER/SAURON aka THE EVIL OF THE RING THEME, has two names and is assigned to two categories: Mordor and The One Ring. The theme represents "the Ring's "character... (and its) effect on the world." (Doug Adams, CR--FOTR liner notes, page 29) and "the most villainous inclinations of the Ring and for Mordor itself." (Doug Adams, CR--FOTR liner notes, page 9)
Since this music has been identified as Sauron's Theme from the inception of the site, I will continue to use that as the primary name.

It reappeared in the ROTK as the Fourth Age Theme, THE DESTRUCTION OF THE RING, not while we see the destruction of the Ring but when we see the result of the Ring's destruction has on Barad-dûr and the lands surrounding it.

In this video, Patrick Adair Designs the one ring to rule them all. Inspired by the popular movie franchise Lord of the Rings Patrick casts a solid gold ring. The process starts by machining a copy of the ring out of wax on a lathe. The wax is then used to create a plaster mold that is cured in a furnace. Patrick then melts gold and pours it into the mold. This makes a solid gold ring. I then laser engrave the ring with gibberish from an open-source font available on the internet. The last step is filling the ring with glow poder to make a glow ring. Making the one ring to rule them all was one of the most fun and requested projects on this channel.

A note on our interpretation:
The One Ring is the symbol of all evil. But there are so many forms that evil can take and so it was our challenge and adventure to try and give musical form to this all encompassing evil, (while still remembering that good will always triumph over any evil).
The song begins with the legend of the forging of the rings, and our goal was to paint each of the races a little differently, including a literal interpretation of having 3, 7, 9, and 1 voices to speak for each of the rings. Then the song depicts the forging of the One Ring whilst Sauron speaks in the Black speech. The “One Ring theme” enters in, bare and minimal since no one yet knows the impact or power of this evil. The song returns to the original themes as a last glance before the one ring theme returns to overshadow them all. One by one, the themes are pulled into the vicious “ring cycle” as the music circles around, growing darker and more intense.
Evil is often at first attractive (i.e. the ring), and a person who is enslaved by a bad habit/sin (e.g. Smeagol, Isildur, etc.) often does not realize their peril until they are already caught up in the vicious cycle of evil, which in the end, leaves them empty and possessed of nothing. These are the sentiments that color the “ring cycle” of the latter part of the song.

A forge appears where someone is casting some rings.
GALADRIEL VOICE OVER: It began with the forging of the Great Rings.
Three hands are shown.
GALADRIEL VOICE OVER: Three were given to the elves. (Galadriel looks at her ring Gil-Galad and Cirdan are behind her looking at theirs.) Immortal, wisest and fairest of all beings. (seven rings are shown on a table and picked up by dwarves who admire them and hold them up in the air.) Seven to the dwarf lords, great miners and craftsmen of the mountain halls. (The camera moves back and focuses in on nine men all holding one ring each and looking at them.) And nine, nine rings were gifted to the race of men. (They drop their arms to their sides) Who above all else, desire power. (They fade away to a black screen.)
Changes to show a map of Middle Earth.
GALADRIEL VOICE OVER: For within these rings was bound the strength and will to govern each race. (The map moves towards Mordor.) But they were all of them deceived. (Black screen.) For another ring was made. (Map reappears showing Mordor.) In the land of Mordor, (Mount Doom appears on the screen.) in the fires of Mount Doom (Changes to show Sauron wreathed in flames.) the dark Lord Sauron forged in secret a master Ring (Shows Sauron in full armour holding the Ring.) to control all others and into this Ring he poured all his cruelty, his malice (fire moves across the screen and the Ring appears spinning over and over.) and his will to dominate all life. (Shows Sauron's finger with the one Ring on it.) One Ring to rule them all.
The scene changes to show the map of Middle Earth again. Scenes of strife and war fade in behind the map
GALADRIEL VOICE OVER: One by one the free lands of Middle Earth fell to the power of the Ring. But there were some who resisted. (Changes to show soldiers advancing on a battlefield.) A last alliance of Elves and Men marched against the armies of Mordor. And on the slopes of Mount Doom they fought for the freedom of Middle Earth.
We see the armies of Orcs battling with the armies of Elves and Men.
ELROND: Tangado haid! (Hold positions!)
The Elves bring up their shields.
ELROND: Leithio i philinn! (Fire arrows!)
The Elves fire arrows into the Orc ranks. The Orcs advance and the Elves bring up their swords to slash into the front line. The battle ensues and is very fierce. We see Gil-Galad spear an Orc on the ground. Elendil brandishes his sword.
GALADRIEL VOICE OVER: Victory was near. (Elrond stops fighting, Elendil stops fighting, they look up in fear.) But the power of the Ring (Sauron steps onto the battlefield with the Ring on his finger.) could not be undone.
The Elves and Men back off looking fearful. Sauron comes forward. He swings his mace scattering Men and Elves all over the field. Elendil moves forward to try to engage him, but he is thrown away by the mace. He crumples against the rock, dropping his sword.
GALADRIEL VOICE OVER: It was in this moment, (Isildur moves towards his father, takes his helmet off and holds Elendil to him.) that Isildur, son of the King, took up his father's sword.
Isildur looks up at Sauron and dives for his father's sword. Sauron stamps on it breaking it. He makes a grab for Isildur who swipes at his hand with the broken sword, severing the finger with the Ring on it. It falls to the ground. Elendil opens his eyes and looks at it in astonishment. Isildur looks up at Sauron who begins to glow brighter and brighter. There is a massive explosion sending a shock wave all across the armies, knocking the soldiers from their feet. Sauron's helmet crashes to the ground.
GALADRIEL VOICE OVER: Sauron, the enemy of the Free Peoples of Middle Earth was defeated.

The One Ring was one of the most powerful artifacts ever created in Middle-earth. It was crafted by the Dark Lord Sauron in the fire of Orodruin, also known as Mount Doom, during the Second Age. Sauron's intent was to enhance his own power, and to exercise control over the other Rings of Power, which had been made by Celebrimbor and his people with Sauron's assistance. THE HISTORY OF THE RING THEME, a theme for The One Ring, is used "whenever the One Ring changes hands or marks significant progress in its journey". (Doug Adams, CR-FOTR liner notes, page 7)
The music is light, almost lyrical, throughout FOTR and TTT. But in ROTK, the History of the Ring combines with the Evil of the Ring (Mordor/Sauron). The minor key and reedy rhaita of Sauron's theme give a more menacing tone to the History of the Ring.
MORDER/SAURON aka THE EVIL OF THE RING THEME, has two names and is assigned to two categories: Mordor and The One Ring. The theme represents "the Ring's "character... (and its) effect on the world." (Doug Adams, CR--FOTR liner notes, page 29) and "the most villainous inclinations of the Ring and for Mordor itself." (Doug Adams, CR--FOTR liner notes, page 9)
Since this music has been identified as Sauron's Theme from the inception of the site, I will continue to use that as the primary name.

The theme often uses boy's voices singing lyrics from The Seduction of the Ring or humming the melody.
THE FATE OF THE RING, a theme for The One Ring, appeared once as an "incomplete phrase" in the TTT.
It reappeared in the ROTK as the Fourth Age Theme, THE DESTRUCTION OF THE RING, not while we see the destruction of the Ring but when we see the result of the Ring's destruction has on Barad-dûr and the lands surrounding it.

One Ring
The One Ring is an artefact that appears as the central plot element in J. R. R. Tolkien's The Lord of the Rings (1954–55). It is described in an earlier story, The Hobbit (1937), as a magic ring of invisibility. In the sequel, The Lord of the Rings, Tolkien ascribes to the Ring a darker character, with malevolent power going far beyond conferring invisibility: it was created by Sauron the Dark Lord as part of his design to win domination over Middle-earth. The Lord of the Rings concerns the quest to destroy the Ring to keep Sauron from fulfilling his design.
Literature
In The Lord of the Rings and the posthumously published The Silmarillion, Tolkien provides a detailed internal development from the forging of the Ring to its destruction. In the fictional context of Middle-earth, these events take place during several thousand years in the Second and Third Age of Arda.
Description
The One Ring was forged by the Dark Lord Sauron during the Second Age to gain dominion over the free peoples of Middle-earth. In disguise as Annatar, or "Lord of Gifts", he aided the Elven smiths of Eregion and their leader Celebrimbor in the making of the Rings of Power. He then forged the One Ring himself in the fires of Mount Doom.
