Moments (Spanish: 'Instantes') is the title of a text wrongly attributed to Argentine writer Jorge Luis Borges. It was widely spread through articles, compilations, posters and email chain letters, mainly in Spanish.
Spanish versions, with some variations, consist of a first person narrated poem about an 85-year-old person who regrets not having enjoyed some simple pleasures during his life and instead having focused on safety and correctness.
The vocabulary, syntax and style do not match those of Borges.
The first known version of the text was authored by American humorist and cartoonist Don Herold, and published by College Humor before 1935, or perhaps early that year, under the title "I'd Pick More Daisies". Herold's text is in prose, and it lacks the melancholic tone of the Spanish poem. E.g.:
Herold published a revised version in the October 1953 number of Reader's Digest.
Another English version, attributed to one Nadine Stair or Nadine Strain, starts:
In mathematics, and more specifically in abstract algebra, a *-algebra (or involutive algebra) is a mathematical structure consisting of two involutive rings R and A, where R is commutative and A has the structure of an associative algebra over R. Involutive algebras generalize the idea of a number system equipped with conjugation, for example the complex numbers and complex conjugation, matrices over the complex numbers and conjugate transpose, and linear operators over a Hilbert space and Hermitian adjoints.
In mathematics, a *-ring is a ring with a map * : A → A that is an antiautomorphism and an involution.
More precisely, * is required to satisfy the following properties:
for all x, y in A.
This is also called an involutive ring, involutory ring, and ring with involution. Note that the third axiom is actually redundant, because the second and fourth axioms imply 1* is also a multiplicative identity, and identities are unique.
A ringtone or ring tone is the sound made by a telephone to indicate an incoming call or text message. Not literally a tone nor an actual (bell-like) ring any more, the term is most often used today to refer to customizable sounds used on mobile phones.
A phone “rings” when its network indicates an incoming call and the phone thus alerts the recipient. For landline telephones, the call signal can be an electric current generated by the switch or exchange to which the telephone is connected, which originally drove an electric bell. For mobile phones, the network sends the phone a message indicating an incoming call. The sound the caller hears is called the ringback tone, which is not necessarily directly related.
The electromagnetic bell system is still in widespread use. The ringing signal sent to a customer's telephone is 90 volts AC at a frequency of 20 hertz in North America. In Europe it is around 60-90 volts AC at a frequency of 25 hertz. Some non-Bell Company system party lines in the US used multiple frequencies (20/30/40 Hz, 22/33/44 Hz, etc.) to allow "selective" ringing.
Norwegian National Road 150, also known as Ring 3 and formerly Store Ringvei is a beltway limited-access road which circumnavigates Oslo, Norway. It runs from Ryen, through the Sinsen Interchange to Lysaker in Bærum.
The Sinsen Interchange, where Ring 3 meets Trondheimsveien was opened in 1962. The increase in traffic was greater than the capacity of the junction, and thus a bridge was constructed that redirected Trondheimsveien above the roundabout.
Further restructuring was done in 1992, when the Sinsen Line of the Oslo Tramway was redirected outside of the interchange, and in 1994, when National Road 150 was directed below the roundabout. The Norwegian Public Roads Administration plans to connect the Løren Tunnel, a tunnel over National Road 150, with the Sinsen Interchange in summer 2013.
The highway is subdivided into parts with separate names (from Ryen to Lysaker):
WWE '13 is a professional wrestling video game developed by Yuke's and published by THQ (later by 2K Sports) for the PlayStation 3, Wii, and Xbox 360. It is the second game in the WWE (now WWE 2K) series and the 14th overall in the combined series. It is the sequel to WWE '12 and is succeeded by WWE 2K14. It was released on October 30, 2012 in North America and November 2, 2012 in United Kingdom. It is also the final WWE game to be published by THQ before the company's demise in January 2013, thus ending the WWE/THQ relationship after 13 years.
The game focuses on the Attitude Era of WWE, replacing its Road to WrestleMania Mode with an Attitude Era Mode where the player plays through the Attitude Era in six different storylines. The game also brings back its Predator Technology engine, adding in a new audio system called WWE Live. The game is said to be the second phase of a "Revolution" in WWE video games, with cover athlete CM Punk taking charge. Following its release, the game received favorable reviews and was nominated for the Spike Video Game Award for Best Individual Sports Game. This is also the last WWE game to be released on the Wii and (so far) on a Nintendo console, as the sequel WWE 2K14 and beyond have only been released for Sony and Microsoft consoles. The online servers for WWE '13 were shut down in December 2014.
WWE '12 is a professional wrestling video game developed by Yuke's and published by THQ for the PlayStation 3, Wii, and Xbox 360 systems. It is the first game in the WWE series and the fourteenth overall in the combined series. It is the sequel to WWE SmackDown vs. Raw 2011 and succeeded by WWE '13. It is also the first game in the series developed exclusively for current generation home consoles. It was released on November 22, 2011 in North America, November 25 in the United Kingdom, and on January 26, 2012 in Japan.<ref name=Yuke's>"PlayStation®3用ゲ??ソ??? WWE'12 日本語?公式サイ??". The weak/strong grapple system from the past games has been removed. Characters now perform different moves based on their opponent's current physical state. Players now have a window of opportunity to attack while still in a downed state and can also interrupt moves and Royal Rumble eliminations with attacks. Similarly, the pinning meter from the past games has been reworked to make it more difficult to kick out as a wrestler takes more damage. The game's artificial intelligence has also been adjusted to prevent players from overusing the same move. In addition, the ability to store finishing moves has returned. A new feature called "Dynamic Comebacks" gives players on the verge of losing the opportunity to successfully hit a combination of moves to gain two finishing moves. New "wake up taunts" bring a downed opponent to their feet for a finishing move (such as Randy Orton pounding on the ground before his RKO finishing maneuver). Players also have the ability to target specific limbs during matches and perform submissions through a new "Breaking Point" submission minigame.

Rudyard Kipling was a prolific poet, novelist and journalist and one of the most well-known Victorian writers of his time. In 1907, he was awarded the Nobel Prize for Literature for his great body of work which included 'The Jungle Book' and his enduring poetic masterpiece 'If'. In perhaps one of the most inspirational poems ever written, Kipling outlines for his son the behaviours and attitudes it takes to become a man, advising his son about how to perceive the world and life's challenges so that he can both learn from his experiences and resolutely overcome barriers. This poem is one of our favourites and we hope you find our rendition of it worthy of the words.
