It's time to start talking about the future, in my latest video I will showcase the top 10 programming languages to learn, which is coming from an IT programmer. I've seen many lists in the past which are either very misinformed or just biased, but with my list I try to be as open minded as possible. Linda Liukas believes that a movement in technology is already happening and that we need to engage everyone -- especially the next generation -- to take part. She wants to create a more diverse and colourful world of technology, starting with the poetry of code.
Linda Liukas is a programmer, storyteller and illustrator. Her children's book, Hello Ruby, raised a total of $380,000 on Kickstarter. She founded Rails Girls, which has organized workshops in over 230 cities, teaching the basics of programming to more than 10,000 women. Linda worked at Codeacademy, which she left to write stories that teach children about software and programming. She won the 2013 Ruby Hero prize and was named the Digital Champion of Finland by the EU Commissioner for Digital Agenda.

I have been watching you for over three years and your videos are great! I do however have a problem with the IT field, particularly with software development. I graduated as a programmer from a community college but found it difficult to find a job as a developer. If I were to look for a C# role, I would find experience for C# but also a number of other languages or experience needed in technologies that I haven't heard of. It seems to be like as a developer I need to know 20 different things just to be qualified as a developer for a particular language. Because of this I haven't been able to apply to any of the jobs because I don't have experience with certain technologies and as a result I have been working as a help desk analyst since I meet the requirements for that role as and IT guy who learned things as time went by. Why is this the case and how do tackle this issue in order to start my career as a developer?

Computer programming (often shortened to programming or coding) is the process of designing, writing, testing, debugging, and maintaining the source code of computer programs. This source code is written in one or more programming languages. The purpose of programming is to create a set of instructions that computers use to perform specific operations or to exhibit desired behaviors. The process of writing source code often requires expertise in many different subjects, including knowledge of the application domain, specialized algorithms and formal logic.
Within software engineering, programming (the implementation) is regarded as one phase in a software development process.
There is an ongoing debate on the extent to which the writing of programs is an art form, a craft or an engineering discipline. In general, good programming is considered to be the measured application of all three, with the goal of producing an efficient and evolvable software solution (the criteria for "efficient" and "evolvable" vary considerably). The discipline differs from many other technical professions in that programmers, in general, do not need to be licensed or pass any standardized (or governmentally regulated) certification tests in order to call themselves "programmers" or even "software engineers." Because the discipline covers many areas, which may or may not include critical applications, it is debatable whether licensing is required for the profession as a whole. In most cases, the discipline is self-governed by the entities which require the programming, and sometimes very strict environments are defined (e.g. United States Air Force use of AdaCore and security clearance). However, representing oneself as a "Professional Software Engineer" without a license from an accredited institution is illegal in many parts of the world.

I've seen many lists in the past which are either very misinformed or just biased, but with my list I try to be as open minded as possible. I have been watching you for over three years and your videos are great! I do however have a problem with the IT field, particularly with software development. I graduated as a programmer from a community college but found it difficult to find a job as a developer. If I were to look for a C# role, I would find experience for C# but also a number of other languages or experience needed in technologies that I haven't heard of. It seems to be like as a developer I need to know 20 different things just to be qualified as a developer for a particular language. Because of this I haven't been able to apply to any of the jobs because I don't have experience with certain technologies and as a result I have been working as a help desk analyst since I meet the requirements for that role as and IT guy who learned things as time went by. Why is this the case and how do tackle this issue in order to start my career as a developer?

How many websites do you visit daily? Have you ever thought about creating your own website? Many people and organizations create websites to share information, educate, and buy and sell products and services.
Web design is the creation and visual design of documents displayed on the World Wide Web. Organizations rely on websites with engaging and visually stimulating content to attract and retain consumers. The quality of the Web design is a key factor when creating or revising a website. Anyone preparing to develop a website must consider several factors to plan for success. What factors do you think would be important? Consider some of the websites you have visited recently. Were there things that you really liked or disliked about those websites?
Planning Your Website
Building a website is like building a house. The first step requires proper planning. With a house, you will need an architect to design the home, a contractor to build the home and an interior designer to decorate the home. While you can build a website on your own, many organizations hire professionals who have the skills and talent to make an appealing and well-functioning website. To build a website, you will need a creative director who acts as an architect, a Web director who acts as a contractor, and a content director who acts as the interior designer.
When planning a website, you must know your audience and design a website that will suit their needs, interests, and viewing preferences. When designing websites, it is important to keep in mind that they will be viewed on a computer screen. They should be designed appropriately for that medium. Content should be organized in such a way that it is meaningful and easy to navigate. It is important to leverage the power of hypertext. One way to accomplish this is by providing links within the content of webpages for users to create their own paths to information.
Website designers must consider users with different Web browsers, operating systems, and computer platforms to ensure accessibility. Pages should also be planned with connection speeds in mind. It's beneficial to design for low bandwidth. Bandwidth is the amount of data that can be transmitted in a set period of time. No one wants to wait for a page to slowly download due to large graphics or complicated animations. In fact, the average user will only wait 10-20 seconds for a page to load before navigating away. That could be a potential customer lost to a competitor!

Once the planning is complete and the architectural plans are finalized, building can begin. Whether working on a new home or a new website, we start with the foundation. Web programming languages like HTML, XML, and XHTML provide the tools to build the foundation just as framing provides the basic yet essential structure in which to build and design the entire house.

Just a few tracks from games and a movie that I've found to be excellent to listen to while programming. I could have expanded this mix by several other tracks from Deus Ex, but tried to keep it around the hour mark, which I've found help me pace myself during programming/study sessions. You should check out the complete soundtrack to the others (Especially Deus Ex Human Revolution and it's ambient tracks. Also as a note, as the title says, concentration \ programming. So ultimately, you can sorta consider the programming part as a "subclass" of the concentration superclass (if you will lol). So, any work or studying involving heavy concentration (and probably computers ;), I hope that this may help. And there will probably be more vids ("subclasses") of the concentration class to come themed at other types of stuff that I've used. Oh yea, If you'd like me to have an expanded version of a single song in this list, please let me know in comments. I've used the youtube repeat function quite a bit on single tracks for sessions also so that may help you with your work. Sometimes one track is needed for a while. Whew, long description lol Sorry!
