Augusto Boal (April 16, 1931 - May 2, 2009)
After spending the past 2 weeks re-reading his books- i didn't expect to be putting up an obituary instead of a vlog. I found out today that he died on Saturday.
I'd been tagged by KazukiSeirei a couple of weeks ago for another 5 facts tag, and i offered to vlog on something that really inspires me instead.
This is the man I intended to vlog on.
His work is truly inspirational to me, and I think, so very useful for the times we live in.
I studied the theatre forms of Augusto Boal for 2 years- doing practical street theatre, invisible theatre, community drama, Theatre in Conflict Resolution and other dramatherapy.
I wanted to vlog about him and in particular, Invisible Theatre and how it works to empower people and create real social and political change.
I've had a load of little synchronicites that kept pointing me back to his work in the past month, & learned i had missed a workshop he himself held here in London just 4 weeks ago... so it's a bit strange to hear he's died after I had been geeking out on his life's work when i hadn't looked at it in 10 years!
I'll vlog more personally on him next week maybe- somehow not in the mood right now

Legendary Brazilian theater director Augusto Boal died this past Saturday at the age of 78, of respiratory failure after a long bout with leukemia.
The founder of the concept of the Theater of the Oppressed, was deeply influenced by the philosophy of fellow Brazilian Paulo Freire and his Pedagogy of the Oppressed.
Boals goal was to use the stage as a platform for social dialogue and to ultimately change society. To that end, he developed methods which encouraged the participation of audience members as spec-actors, rather than spectators.
Boal also created hundreds of games and exercises for actors and non-actors alike in readying them in a rehearsal for real life. Working with theater professionals as well as rural Brazilian farmers, Boals work did not find favor with the military dictatorship that ruled Brazil from 1964 to 1985 he was jailed, tortured and exiled to Argentina. Undeterred, the theater director and playwright returned to Brazil after the fall of the dictatorship by which time his work in broadening the Theater of the Oppressed movement had spread internationally. Boal often visited the US and mentored many activists including Hector Aristizabal.

Boal Fish is a kind of cat fish. Boal fish is also known as Wallago Attu fish. It has no scales and very less bones. It is oily and fatty fish. Boal fish curry goes well with rice.
Ingredients:
1 Onion chopped
1 Tomato chopped
3 Green Chillies
1" long Ginger finely chopped
4 cloves of Garlic finely chopped
1 tsp Cumin Seeds
2 tsp Turmeric Powder
1 tsp Red Chilly Powder
Half a cup of Beaten Yogurt
Chopped Coriander Leaves
1 tsp Cumin Powder
1 tsp Garam Masala Powder
500 gm Boal Fish
White oil
Salt and Sugar to taste

Augusto Boal visited Cultural Agents and Harvard University in 2003. This is a talk and realization of the Brazilian playwright/philosopher/literary critic/artist/politician's theory, Forum Theater through The Theater of the Oppressed. His idea deconstructs the dramatic dichotomy often assumed between spectator and actor. Instead, everyone present is a spect-actor, free to interrupt the drama, interpret, re-do, play with with different options. This fun communal performance affords everyone present options and agency and language of theater through which individuals and communities, especially the oppressed, can seek emancipation from the limitations and frustrations of their lives. Boal from the Netherlands was formed in 2009 from the ashes of Anaemia, since the primitive death/grind became more advanced and technical. With Philippus Yntema and Wim de Vries as only members, the two started working on new songs as well as reforming some old stuff to the new style. Heavily influenced by bands like Immolation, Gorguts, Hate Eternal, Disgorge the two were trying to find their own sound in the brutal death metal spectre, without limiting themselves in any way. The goal was to create some vicious death metal with strong rhythms, catchy riffs and recognizable songs while remaining brutal.

Sus Majestades los Reyes acudieron a Boal para hacer entrega del galardón, que fue recibido por Amparo Díaz, presidenta de la Asociación Cívica de Naturales, Vecinos y Amigos del Concejo de Boal, como representante del pueblo galardonado.
Don Felipe, en su intervención se dirigió a los vecinos de Boal destacando que esta es sin duda una edición muy especial, “pues es el primer año que lo entregamos como Reyes de España, y al hacerlo nos acordamos mucho de nuestras queridas hijas. Leonor —la Princesa de Asturias— sabe al igual que su hermana la Infanta Sofía, que nuestra vinculación con esta tierra es muy intensa, por tantas razones personales e históricas”.
También, Don Felipe recordó “la generosidad y el esfuerzo hechos en los primeros años del pasado siglo por vuestros emigrantes a Cuba. Una generosidad y un esfuerzo que se materializó, entre otras muchas cosas, en la construcción de 21 escuelas por la denominada Sociedad de los Naturales del Concejo de Boal en La Habana, un hecho único en la historia de Asturias, digno de todo elogio y reconocimiento”.
A su llegada a Boal, Sus Majestades los Reyes fueron recibidos por el presidente del Principado de Asturias, Javier Fernández; el presidente de la Fundación Príncipe de Asturias, Matías Rodríguez Inciarte; el presidente de la Junta General del Principado de Asturias, Pedro José Sanjurjo; el delegado del Gobierno en Asturias, Gabino de Lorenzo; el alcalde de Boal, José Antonio Barrientos; la directora y el secretario general de la Fundación Príncipe de Asturias, Teresa Sanjurjo y Adolfo Menéndez, respectivamente, y el director emérito de la Fundación Príncipe de Asturias, Graciano García.
Tras el saludo de la Corporación Municipal de Boal, entre otras personalidades, Don Felipe y Doña Letizia comenzaron un recorrido por el pueblo, durante el que visitaron la calle Melquiades Álvarez, con los inmuebles indianos más representativos de la arquitectura relacionada con la emigración a América de finales del siglo XIX, y saludaron a los miembros del Movimiento Asociativo y Vecinal de Boal. Continuaron con una visita al Centro de Interpretación Lavadero, donde unas mujeres ataviadas con trajes de lavanderas recreaban su historia, representando la técnica de lavado y secado antiguo, los usos y tradiciones.
En la avenida de Asturias, los Reyes observaron una recreación costumbrista referente a la forja del clavo, que durante los siglos XVIII y XIX fue una de las actividades más importantes del sector en el concejo, a cargo de Francisco Pío Fernández y Rubén Soto, miembros del Centro de Interpretación de la Artesanía de Hierro. Seguidamente, saludaron a María Félix, pintora local, que entregó a Sus Majestades el cuadro “Paisaje de Boal”.
Tras acceder Sus Majestades los Reyes a la Plaza de los Emigrantes y ser saludados por el jurado del Premio al Pueblo Ejemplar de Asturias 2014, tuvo lugar el acto de entrega del galardón, que recibió la presidenta de la Asociación Cívica de Naturales, Vecinos y Amigos del Consejo de Boal, Amparo Díaz, de manos de Su Majestad el Rey. Durante la ceremonia intervinieron el alcalde de Boal; el presidente del Jurado, Francisco Rodríguez -quien dio lectura al acta de concesión del premio-; la redactora del proyecto de candidatura “Forum Boal 3000”, Gloria López Téllez, y finalmente, Don Felipe.
Una vez concluido el acto de entrega, los Reyes se dirigieron al monolito situado a la salida de la plaza donde descubrieron una placa conmemorativa y fueron obsequiados con una cesta con productos típicos de Boal por parte de los representantes de la Asociación “Muyeres con xeito”, Rocío Quintana, y de la Escudería Castrillo Motor Club, Enrique Suárez. A continuación, Don Felipe y Doña Letizia se dirigieron a la Casa de la Cultura donde firmaron en el libro de honor.
Finalizado el acto, los Reyes se trasladaron a la Casa de Apicultura, centro de divulgación e interpretación relacionada con el arte de la cría de las abejas, y a las Escuelas Graduadas de Boal. En este lugar saludaron a Adelina y Marta, que cursaron sus estudios primarios en las Escuelas en 1934, año en el que se inauguraron, y a Orlando, emigrante retornado de Cuba. En las Escuelas se representó una clase de época con alumnos de primer ciclo, con temática relativa a la primera etapa poética de Carlos Bousoño, poeta boalense que recibió el Premio Príncipe de Asturias de las Letras en 1995.

Boal (Eonavian: Bual) is a municipality, a civil parish and a town in the Autonomous Community of the Principality of Asturias (Spain). It borders north with El Franco and Coaña, south with Illano, west with Castropol and east with Villayón.
The main way of access to the municipality is the regional road AS-12, which connects Navia with Grandas de Salime. The whole municipality has a population of 1,863 inhabitants, whereas there are about 600 inhabitants in the capital town.
Etymologically, it is usually considered that "Boal" comes either from the Indo-european languages, *bod- (stream, ditch), or from the Latin, bove or *bovale (ox). Although some authors believe that "Boal" could be understood as the expression of an old anthroponym or person name, Bovali (iler) or Baudiliu (adducing the form Baudali), it is common to consider its original meaning either as "terreno frecuentado y apropiado para el pasto del ganado vacuno" ("land frequented and appropriate for the grazing of cattle") or as "corral de bueyes o dehesa boyal" ("corral for oxes or ox pasture". In fact, Corominas mentions in Aragonese boalage, boalar, "dehesa boyal" ("ox pasture") as derivatives of boal, which would be at the same time a variant of boyal, "perteneciente al buey o al ganado vacuno" ("belonging to ox or to cattle") .

Augusto Boal visited Cultural Agents and Harvard University in 2003. This is a talk and realization of the Brazilian playwright/philosopher/literary critic/artist/politician's theory, Forum Theater through The Theater of the Oppressed. His idea deconstructs the dramatic dichotomy often assumed between spectator and actor. Instead, everyone present is a spect-actor, free to interrupt the drama, interpret, re-do, play with with different options. This fun communal performance affords everyone present options and agency and language of theater through which individuals and communities, especially the oppressed, can seek emancipation from the limitations and frustrations of their lives. Boal - Infinite Deprivation
Boal from the Netherlands was formed in 2009 from the ashes of Anaemia, since the primitive death/grind became more advanced and technical. With Philippus Yntema and Wim de Vries as only members, the two started working on new songs as well as reforming some old stuff to the new style. Heavily influenced by bands like Immolation, Gorguts, Hate Eternal, Disgorge the two were trying to find their own sound in the brutal death metal spectre, without limiting themselves in any way. The goal was to create some vicious death metal with strong rhythms, catchy riffs and recognizable songs while remaining brutal. -

I've had a load of little synchronicites that kept pointing me back to his work in the past month, & learned i had missed a workshop he himself held here in London just 4 weeks ago... so it's a bit strange to hear he's died after I had been geeking out on his life's work when i hadn't looked at it in 10 years!

Legendary Brazilian theater director Augusto Boal died this past Saturday at the age of 78, of respiratory failure after a long bout with leukemia.
The founder of the concept of the Theater of the Oppressed, was deeply influenced by the philosophy of fellow Brazilian Paulo Freire and his Pedagogy of the Oppressed.
Boals goal was to use the stage as a platform for social dialogue and to ultimately change society. To that end, he developed methods which encouraged the participation of audience members as spec-actors, rather than spectators.
Boal also created hundreds of games and exercises for actors and non-actors alike in readying them in a rehearsal for real life. Working with theater professionals as well as rural Brazilian farmers, Boals work did not find favor with the military dictatorship that ruled Brazil from 1964 to 1985 he was jailed, tortured and exiled to Argentina. Undeterred, the theater director and playwright returned to Brazil after the fall of the dictatorship by which time his work in broadening the Theater of the Oppressed movement had spread internationally. Boal often visited the US and mentored many activists including Hector Aristizabal.

Boal from the Netherlands was formed in 2009 from the ashes of Anaemia, since the primitive death/grind became more advanced and technical. With Philippus Yntema and Wim de Vries as only members, the two started working on new songs as well as reforming some old stuff to the new style. Heavily influenced by bands like Immolation, Gorguts, Hate Eternal, Disgorge the two were trying to find their own sound in the brutal death metal spectre, without limiting themselves in any way. The goal was to create some vicious death metal with strong rhythms, catchy riffs and recognizable songs while remaining brutal.

Sus Majestades los Reyes acudieron a Boal para hacer entrega del galardón, que fue recibido por Amparo Díaz, presidenta de la Asociación Cívica de Naturales, Vecinos y Amigos del Concejo de Boal, como representante del pueblo galardonado.
Don Felipe, en su intervención se dirigió a los vecinos de Boal destacando que esta es sin duda una edición muy especial, “pues es el primer año que lo entregamos como Reyes de España, y al hacerlo nos acordamos mucho de nuestras queridas hijas. Leonor —la Princesa de Asturias— sabe al igual que su hermana la Infanta Sofía, que nuestra vinculación con esta tierra es muy intensa, por tantas razones personales e históricas”.
También, Don Felipe recordó “la generosidad y el esfuerzo hechos en los primeros años del pasado siglo por vuestros emigrantes a Cuba. Una generosidad y un esfuerzo que se materializó, entre otras muchas cosas, en la construcción de 21 escuelas por la denominada Sociedad de los Naturales del Concejo de Boal en La Habana, un hecho único en la historia de Asturias, digno de todo elogio y reconocimiento”.
A su llegada a Boal, Sus Majestades los Reyes fueron recibidos por el presidente del Principado de Asturias, Javier Fernández; el presidente de la Fundación Príncipe de Asturias, Matías Rodríguez Inciarte; el presidente de la Junta General del Principado de Asturias, Pedro José Sanjurjo; el delegado del Gobierno en Asturias, Gabino de Lorenzo; el alcalde de Boal, José Antonio Barrientos; la directora y el secretario general de la Fundación Príncipe de Asturias, Teresa Sanjurjo y Adolfo Menéndez, respectivamente, y el director emérito de la Fundación Príncipe de Asturias, Graciano García.
Tras el saludo de la Corporación Municipal de Boal, entre otras personalidades, Don Felipe y Doña Letizia comenzaron un recorrido por el pueblo, durante el que visitaron la calle Melquiades Álvarez, con los inmuebles indianos más representativos de la arquitectura relacionada con la emigración a América de finales del siglo XIX, y saludaron a los miembros del Movimiento Asociativo y Vecinal de Boal. Continuaron con una visita al Centro de Interpretación Lavadero, donde unas mujeres ataviadas con trajes de lavanderas recreaban su historia, representando la técnica de lavado y secado antiguo, los usos y tradiciones.
En la avenida de Asturias, los Reyes observaron una recreación costumbrista referente a la forja del clavo, que durante los siglos XVIII y XIX fue una de las actividades más importantes del sector en el concejo, a cargo de Francisco Pío Fernández y Rubén Soto, miembros del Centro de Interpretación de la Artesanía de Hierro. Seguidamente, saludaron a María Félix, pintora local, que entregó a Sus Majestades el cuadro “Paisaje de Boal”.
Tras acceder Sus Majestades los Reyes a la Plaza de los Emigrantes y ser saludados por el jurado del Premio al Pueblo Ejemplar de Asturias 2014, tuvo lugar el acto de entrega del galardón, que recibió la presidenta de la Asociación Cívica de Naturales, Vecinos y Amigos del Consejo de Boal, Amparo Díaz, de manos de Su Majestad el Rey. Durante la ceremonia intervinieron el alcalde de Boal; el presidente del Jurado, Francisco Rodríguez -quien dio lectura al acta de concesión del premio-; la redactora del proyecto de candidatura “Forum Boal 3000”, Gloria López Téllez, y finalmente, Don Felipe.
Una vez concluido el acto de entrega, los Reyes se dirigieron al monolito situado a la salida de la plaza donde descubrieron una placa conmemorativa y fueron obsequiados con una cesta con productos típicos de Boal por parte de los representantes de la Asociación “Muyeres con xeito”, Rocío Quintana, y de la Escudería Castrillo Motor Club, Enrique Suárez. A continuación, Don Felipe y Doña Letizia se dirigieron a la Casa de la Cultura donde firmaron en el libro de honor.
Finalizado el acto, los Reyes se trasladaron a la Casa de Apicultura, centro de divulgación e interpretación relacionada con el arte de la cría de las abejas, y a las Escuelas Graduadas de Boal. En este lugar saludaron a Adelina y Marta, que cursaron sus estudios primarios en las Escuelas en 1934, año en el que se inauguraron, y a Orlando, emigrante retornado de Cuba. En las Escuelas se representó una clase de época con alumnos de primer ciclo, con temática relativa a la primera etapa poética de Carlos Bousoño, poeta boalense que recibió el Premio Príncipe de Asturias de las Letras en 1995.

Teatro del Oprimido y teoría crítica

Quizá la gran lección malentendida del Teatro del Oprimido no es que ya lo sabemos todo, pero que podemos aprenderlo todo.
Este lema atestigua la sed del creador del Teatro del Oprimido que intentó abarcar la mayor parte de la sabiduría humana pasando de la filosofía al teatro, de la política a las ciencias.
Los resultados de esta investigación se pueden ver a través de sus libros. El intento de esta charla no será de saber como dialogó Augusto Boal con ilustres pensadores y escuelas filosóficas sino, principalmente, de intentar descubrir lo que puede aportarnos hoy la utilización de la teoría crítica en nuestro quehacer teatral.

WORKSHOP: How do you frame a question in Forum Theatre?
This workshop will ask: How do you frame a question in Forum Theatre? It is important to remember that Forum Theatre pieces are questions addressed to the audience. The fact that we, the practitioners, don't have the right to answer those questions doesn't lessen our responsibilities in helping frame them. Quite the contrary. All questions are not equally useful, ethical, or responsible in Forum Theatre.
For example, to ask what a specific woman can do at the very moment that she is under the threat of being beaten up by her husband only reinforces the dangerous idea that those who experience relationship violence are somehow personally responsible for doing something to stop their abusers. Part of the third day will be spent practicing some beginning skills for jokering Forum Theatre. The workshop will culminate in a Forum Theatre performance.

Quizá la gran lección malentendida del Teatro del Oprimido no es que ya lo sabemos todo, pero que podemos aprenderlo todo.
Este lema atestigua la sed del creador del Teatro del Oprimido que intentó abarcar la mayor parte de la sabiduría humana pasando de la filosofía al teatro, de la política a las ciencias.
Los resultados de esta investigación se pueden ver a través de sus libros. El intento de esta charla no será de saber como dialogó Augusto Boal con ilustres pensadores y escuelas filosóficas sino, principalmente, de intentar descubrir lo que puede aportarnos hoy la utilización de la teoría crítica en nuestro quehacer teatral.

WORKSHOP: How do you frame a question in Forum Theatre?
This workshop will ask: How do you frame a question in Forum Theatre? It is important to remember that Forum Theatre pieces are questions addressed to the audience. The fact that we, the practitioners, don't have the right to answer those questions doesn't lessen our responsibilities in helping frame them. Quite the contrary. All questions are not equally useful, ethical, or responsible in Forum Theatre.
For example, to ask what a specific woman can do at the very moment that she is under the threat of being beaten up by her husband only reinforces the dangerous idea that those who experience relationship violence are somehow personally responsible for doing something to stop their abusers. Cebu Travel 2014 We arrived in Mactan Cebu City at 1:30Pm, before going to moal boal, we made some tour using a multicab( LapuLapu shrine, Magellan's Cross, Guitar place and bought a left handed guitar for Php 1250. We had dinner at AA sutukil and 8 person was completely filled by Cuttlefish, longganisa, chicken bbq and liempo plus 16 rice for on Php 990. Very cheap price! Then we travelled 4 hours to Moal Boal(4hours because we got lost, and the driver is too careful driving due to the place where we will be going is like a dark jungle, no signage to guide where you are or where to go. finally we arrived at Manang Esther Home Stay, beside club Serena. Manang Esther is a very warm, friendly and maasikaso, it was like we had with us a Nanay. The place is very clean, not classy but it's mor... -

We arrived in Mactan Cebu City at 1:30Pm, before going to moal boal, we made some tour using a multicab( LapuLapu shrine, Magellan's Cross, Guitar place and bought a left handed guitar for Php 1250. We had dinner at AA sutukil and 8 person was completely filled by Cuttlefish, longganisa, chicken bbq and liempo plus 16 rice for on Php 990. Very cheap price! Then we travelled 4 hours to Moal Boal(4hours because we got lost, and the driver is too careful driving due to the place where we will be going is like a dark jungle, no signage to guide where you are or where to go. finally we arrived at Manang Esther Home Stay, beside club Serena. Manang Esther is a very warm, friendly and maasikaso, it was like we had with us a Nanay. The place is very clean, not classy but it's more than enough for me, the room is good for 4-5 person, 1bath, 1toilet. The slight problem is the water, because you have to wait for motor to adjust and bless you with water every 15minutes and would turn off for 5minutes then on again. But that did not give us problem at all. Our location is seaside, not so white sand and clean, except the dry leaves on the shore that should have been cleaned everyday to make the beach more beautiful. The beach is much better during high tide because what you will b stepping is still sands for about 2-4meters from the shore, and a little bit farther would be uncomfortable to step on.
The Kawasan Falls is 45 minutes drive from Manang ester's Place(tricycle). We had. We had a guide, and 2 people assisting us on the raft. The guide is a good photographer too, he will offer to be your photgrapher(no additional fee but its up to you if you feel so happy with the shots and would want to give a tip). The Kawasan Falls is very clean and the dept is 28 feet I think( thats what I remember). We were supplied with life jacket.
Kawasan Falls - Php 300 for the raft(30minutes)/php 50 for lifejacket/300 for the single person assisting or driving the raft/ 100 for the guide.

This is it, the last in our Red Ball series of videos. So without any further ado, we give you Red Ball 4: Volume 3!
As this is the last in the Red Ball 4 series, and the last in our Red Ball playlist, you'd expect that this particular game would be a worthy finish to the series. And thankfully, it doesn't drop the ball (pun intended) and stays true to form. In fact, Volume 3 might very well be the most difficult of the games and the one closest to Nintendo hard.
Like the previous two Red Ball 4 games, the game looks great graphically. Unlike the previous two games though, it doesn't look very pretty. The first volume had you running about in relatively serene grasslands, hills, and plains. The second had you in a forest with trees, pools, and grass. While neither would really be ideal vacation spots, what with the demonic little cubes and crazy puzzles, neither can really hold a candle to this level. You're brought to a dark, drab, and gray urban factory environment that's really quite depressing. Everything is all dark and rusty, old and dusty, and generally unpleasant. It's still presented well though, but the drabness goes a long way towards making this feel like the end of a journey, not unlike the grays and whites of Bowser's castle in the first Super Mario Brothers game.
And speaking of the two Italian plumbers, this game has a lot in common with those castle levels. While Bowser had spinning bars of flame, this level has rotating lasers that will zap our poor little red ball into dust. It's also got huge metallic pistons that smash down to crush anything in their way. And there seem to be far more bottomless pits than solid footing making simply moving around a difficult task in itself. In fact, the level evokes feelings of Megaman as well what with all the metal, technological horrors, and difficulty.
One particular technological horror that awaits is the cube. You've faced normal cubes, be-helmeted cubes, ninja cubes, and any assortment and combination thereof. What you're presented with this time are robot cubes. Upon sighting you, these metal cubes will roll towards you as fast as they can and then explode after a few beeps of their internal timers. If you're close enough, the blast will take you out completely. Even if you're some distance away, the blast will still take some of your health away making these the deadliest and toughest of the cubes yet. On the plus side, as they blow themselves up, they're relatively easy to get rid of as long as you can dodge them.
A close second behind the robot cubes are the bottomless pits. There are dozens of these around, and the chain platforms that ferry you across are a task to stay on. They're only supported by a single chain which balances at the center, so one wrong move in either direction will see you slip off the steel platform and down into the aforementioned bottomless pit.

And thankfully, it doesn't drop the ball (pun intended) and stays true to form. In fact, Volume 3 might very well be the most difficult of the games and the one closest to Nintendo hard.
Like the previous two Red Ball 4 games, the game looks great graphically. Unlike the previous two games though, it doesn't look very pretty. The first volume had you running about in relatively serene grasslands, hills, and plains. The second had you in a forest with trees, pools, and grass. While neither would really be ideal vacation spots, what with the demonic little cubes and crazy puzzles, neither can really hold a candle to this level. You're brought to a dark, drab, and gray urban factory environment that's really quite depressing. Everything is all dark and rusty, old and dusty, and generally unpleasant. It's still presented well though, but the drabness goes a long way towards making this feel like the end of a journey, not unlike the grays and whites of Bowser's castle in the first Super Mario Brothers game.
And speaking of the two Italian plumbers, this game has a lot in common with those castle levels. While Bowser had spinning bars of flame, this level has rotating lasers that will zap our poor little red ball into dust. It's also got huge metallic pistons that smash down to crush anything in their way. And there seem to be far more bottomless pits than solid footing making simply moving around a difficult task in itself. In fact, the level evokes feelings of Megaman as well what with all the metal, technological horrors, and difficulty.
One particular technological horror that awaits is the cube. You've faced normal cubes, be-helmeted cubes, ninja cubes, and any assortment and combination thereof. What you're presented with this time are robot cubes. Upon sighting you, these metal cubes will roll towards you as fast as they can and then explode after a few beeps of their internal timers. If you're close enough, the blast will take you out completely. Even if you're some distance away, the blast will still take some of your health away making these the deadliest and toughest of the cubes yet. On the plus side, as they blow themselves up, they're relatively easy to get rid of as long as you can dodge them.
A close second behind the robot cubes are the bottomless pits. There are dozens of these around, and the chain platforms that ferry you across are a task to stay on. They're only supported by a single chain which balances at the center, so one wrong move in either direction will see you slip off the steel platform and down into the aforementioned bottomless pit.
