Anne, alternatively spelled Ann, is a form of the Latin female given name Anna. This in turn is a representation of the Hebrew Hannah, the name of the mother of the prophet Samuel. Anne is a common name in France.
It is sometimes used as a male name in the Netherlands (for example Anne de Vries). It has also been used for males in France (Anne de Montmorency) and Scotland (Lord Anne Hamilton).

Nadine Labaki (Arabic: نادين لبكي; born February 18, 1974) is a Lebanese actress and director.
Labaki obtained a degree in audiovisual studies at Saint Joseph University in Beirut, directing her graduation film, 11 Rue Pasteur, in 1997, which won the Best Short Film Award at the Biennale of Arab Cinema at the Arab World Institute in Paris. In 1998, she attended a workshop in acting at the Cours Florent in Paris. She went on to direct advertisements and music videos for renowned Middle Eastern singers, for which she won several awards.
In 2005, Labaki took part in the Cannes Film Festival Residence in order to write Caramel, her first feature film. In 2006, she went on to direct and play one of the lead roles in Caramel, which showcases a Beirut that most people are not familiar with. Rather than tackle political issues which have plagued Lebanon, she presents a comedy that deals with five Lebanese women who live in Beirut and gather at a beauty salon and deal with issues related to love, sexuality, tradition, disappointment, and everyday ups and downs. The film premiered at the Directors' Fortnight at the Cannes Film Festival in 2007 and was a commercial success in the summer of that same year. It sold worldwide and collected important prizes at many festivals around the world, garnering Labaki much acclaim both as a director and actress, and putting her on Variety's 10 Directors to Watch List at the Sundance Film Festival. In 2008 the French Ministry of Culture and Communication gave her the insignia of Chevalier in the Order of Arts and Letters.

Interview with Director William Brown, main actors Hannah Croft and Alex Chevasco about the making of their awesome movie "En attendant Godard". One has to pay close attention if one hopes to capture the many references to the new wave icon Jean-Luc Godard in William Brown's humorous tribute to the French film director, who already in 1967 declared that film was dead - and who has since continued undauntedly to revolutionise its formal language from the margins. And even if some knowledge about the French director would not be a disadvantage, it is far from obligatory. Like a tour de force through the French director's collected works, Brown has created a story, which is as hard-boiled as it is unrestrained, about the loners Alex and Annie, who set out to find Godard, and suddenly have a ...
