Video editor
A video editor is a technically inclined individual that is involved with making creative video editing decisions in the post-production of film making and video production. The video editor's responsibilities involve decisions about the selection and combining of shots into sequences, and the addition of accompanying sound effects and music to ultimately create a finished movie, television program, commercial, promo, or snipe.
A video editor can also refer to a computer device controller that controls video machines to mechanically put pieces of a film together using a 9-Pin Protocol. This is also referred to as machine to machine or linear editing.
Video editors usually use non-linear editing software today to accomplish the task of editing.

Myra Melford
Myra Melford is an American avant-garde jazz pianist and composer. A 2013 Guggenheim Fellow, Melford was described by the San Francisco Chronicle as an "explosive player, a virtuoso who shocks and soothes, and who can make the piano stand up and do things it doesn't seem to have been designed for."
Early life and education
Melford was born in Evanston, Illinois and was raised in a house designed by Frank Lloyd Wright. At 3, she started playing the piano on her own, climbing onto the piano bench and improvising, and began taking lessons when she was in kindergarten. She developed a strong relationship with her teacher, Erwin Helfer, a classically-trained boogie-woogie player. Helfer introduced her to classical composers such as Bach before moving on to contemporary composers, such as Bartók, and later taught her to play the blues. Melford attended blues festivals, and because of her relationship with Helfer, she was often invited backstage, where she encountered many of Chicago's most acclaimed performers. Independently, Melford also began to explore improvisation.

John Mills
Sir John Mills CBE (22 February 1908 – 23 April 2005) was an English actor who appeared in more than 120 films in a career spanning seven decades. On screen, he often played people who are not at all exceptional, but become heroes because of their common sense, generosity and good judgement. He received an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his work in Ryan's Daughter (1970).
Early life
Mills was born Lewis Ernest Watts Mills in Felixstowe, Suffolk, the son of Edith (Baker), a theatre box office manager, and Lewis Mills, a mathematics teacher.
He lived in a modest house in Gainsborough Road Felixstowe until 1929. His older sister was Annette Mills, remembered as presenter of BBC Television's Muffin the Mule (1946–55).
He was educated at Balham Grammar School in London, Sir John Leman High School in Beccles, Suffolk and Norwich High School for Boys, where it is said that his initials can still be seen carved into the brickwork on the side of the building in Upper St. Giles Street. Upon leaving school he worked as a clerk at a corn merchants in Ipswich before finding employment in London as a commercial traveller for the Sanitas Disinfectant Company.

Wyndham Roberts, a respected member of the community, sits in his pew at the Sunday morning church service. At the same time, outside a deserted factory in another part of town, a man who calls himself Wyndham Roberts approaches Police Constable Jones and confesses to the murder of a small child.

After his bag of scientific documents is stolen, Brady is held prisoner by the man responsible, who wants him to commit a murder. The Invisible Man discovers that although his invisibility is a defence against detection from humans, it is no protection against a vicious guard dog trained to hunt him down if he attempts to escape.

Premise:
The Invisible Man (later known as H.G. Wells' Invisible Man) is a British science fiction/adventure/espionage television series that aired on ITV from September 1958 to July 1959.
The series follows the adventures of Dr. Peter Brady, a scientist who is attempting to achieve invisibility with light refraction — a completely different technique than the protagonist of the novel utilized. However, the experiment goes wrong and turns him permanently invisible. He is initially declared a state secret and locked up, but eventually convinces the UK government, represented by Sir Charles Anderson, to allow him to return to his laboratory and search for an antidote ("Secret Experiment"). Almost immediately, British Intelligence recruits him for an assignment ("Crisis in the Desert"), but soon security is breached ("Behind the Mask") and he becomes a celebrity ("Picnic with Death"), consequently also using his invisibility to help people in trouble, as well as solve crimes and defeat spies for his country.

This is an interview I did with the hugely important free and avant garde jazz trumpet player Wadada Leo Smith. Having grown up in Mississippi in the 1940s and 50s, Wadada experienced first hand the struggle of oppressive racism and the events of the civil rights movement. We will be discussing his piece Ten Freedom Summers which incorporates these themes directly into jazz composition. This piece is the main subject of his next Montreal show which will be taking place at Sala Rosa on June 2nd as a part of the Suoni Per Il Popolo festival. Also, Wadada will be taking part in a discussion with McGill Professor Eric Lewis the next day at the same venue.

Working Princess (1961)
Fade into a painting of a Princess sitting on a throne as commentator says "Once upon a time there was a Princess... and she lived in a castle on top of a hill", as we see a painting of a castle on a hill. Back in reality we see M/S of Her Royal Highness Princess Madelein von Dembinska coming out of a house and walking to the gate of a level crossing where she puts her lamp in place in a container. She is descended from Polish royalty, and does look quite Polish in her black cossack-style hat. We are told that here, at Long Melford in Suffolk, we have found probably the only Princess in the world who works on a railway. Bassist, Mick Stevens talks about Percy Jones' technique with fellow bassist, Kev Hopper and guitarist and old friend, Mark Pringle. Kev also talks briefly about his technique. It's Kev's Wal bass that Mick is trying out so there's a lot of talk about the instrument. Mick took over from Percy Jones in Brand X and went on tour with the band and sounds a lot like Percy and is something of an expert on his technique. He now has a band called 'XPATRIATE' who play Brand X cover versions. BTW, If you're wondering why the bass doesn't sound that bassy it's because it's plugged into a cheap guitar amp. FILM DESCRIPTION:
A murder has been committed at the palatial Parisian residence of Benjamin Ballon (George Sanders). All the evidence points to sexy, wide-eyed housemaid Maria Gambrelli (Elke Sommer). Police inspector Dreyfuss (Herbert Lom) is prepared to make an arrest -- and then the gloriously, monumentally inept Inspector Clouseau (Peter Sellers) arrives on the scene. Clouseau may have difficulty getting through the day without falling into ponds, knocking people cold with opened doors, and pocketing flaming cigarette lighters, but his instincts are right on target when he decides that Mme. Gambrelli is being framed by someone else in the Ballon household. Even as the murder victims pile up, Clouseau is determined to prove Mme. Gambrelli's innocence. As he cuts a bumbling, destructive swath through Paris, Clouseau drives Dreyfuss literally insane. This fact leads to the literally explosive climax, and to the ultimate vindication of Mme. Gambrelli. While we first met Inspector Clouseau in The Pink Panther, Shot in the Dark is the film that truly established the Clouseau mythos: the festive clumsiness, the convoluted dialogue ("You shot him in a rit of fealous jage!"), the Fractured French ("A beump on zee head!"), the twitching lunacy of poor Inspector Dreyfuss, the unexpected "judo lessons" of Clouseau's houseboy Kato (Burt Kwouk), and of course the hilariously macabre jokes involving dead or seriously injured bystanders. You'd never know it, but A Shot in the Dark was inspired by a standard three-act stage comedy by Harry Kurnitz, which in turn was adapted from the French play L'Idiote by Marcel Achard.

This is an interview I did with the hugely important free and avant garde jazz trumpet player Wadada Leo Smith. Having grown up in Mississippi in the 1940s and 50s, Wadada experienced first hand the struggle of oppressive racism and the events of the civil rights movement. We will be discussing his piece Ten Freedom Summers which incorporates these themes directly into jazz composition. This piece is the main subject of his next Montreal show which will be taking place at Sala Rosa on June 2nd as a part of the Suoni Per Il Popolo festival. Also, Wadada will be taking part in a discussion with McGill Professor Eric Lewis the next day at the same venue.

Fade into a painting of a Princess sitting on a throne as commentator says "Once upon a time there was a Princess... and she lived in a castle on top of a hill", as we see a painting of a castle on a hill.
Back in reality we see M/S of Her Royal Highness Princess Madelein von Dembinska coming out of a house and walking to the gate of a level crossing where she puts her lamp in place in a container. She is descended from Polish royalty, and does look quite Polish in her black cossack-style hat. We are told that here, at Long Melford in Suffolk, we have found probably the only Princess in the world who works on a railway.
A bell starts to ring and the Princess walks to a small hut to answer a telephone; she talks into it, smiles and hangs up. M/Ss of her pushing open the level crossing gates as commentator says "For the past three years in her capacity as level crossing keeper, the Princess is on duty from the first train (before 6 am), until the last (after 9 at night).... six days a week". We then see her walk to the signal levers; C/U of the levers as she pushes back number 2 (Gate Locks Locked - Unlocked) and pulls number 3 (Up Distant) forward.
M/S from the track as a two carriage electric train passes through; the Princess pulls more levers and walks to the gates to open them; two toffs on horses and a car are waiting to cross the line. Commentator says since 1918 the Princess' mother "has been fighting to prove her legal right to a huge fortune which includes land and properties on the Continent". The Princess waves to the people on horseback as they cross the line.
Note: The level crossing seen is at Rodbridge. On file is a copy of British Railways Magazine from November 1960, where an article about the Princess appeared in the 'Meeting My Colleagues' section. See out takes on *PM0129* CP 319 OUT TAKES .

It's Kev's Wal bass that Mick is trying out so there's a lot of talk about the instrument. Mick took over from Percy Jones in Brand X and went on tour with the band and sounds a lot like Percy and is something of an expert on his technique. He now has a band called 'XPATRIATE' who play Brand X cover versions. BTW, If you're wondering why the bass doesn't sound that bassy it's because it's plugged into a cheap guitar amp.

Bassist, Mick Stevens talks about Percy Jones' technique with fellow bassist, Kev Hopper and guitarist and old friend, Mark Pringle. Kev also talks briefly about his technique.
It's Kev's Wal bass that Mick is trying out so there's a lot of talk about the instrument. Mick took over from Percy Jones in Brand X and went on tour with the band and sounds a lot like Percy and is something of an expert on his technique. He now has a band called 'XPATRIATE' who play Brand X cover versions. BTW, If you're wondering why the bass doesn't sound that bassy it's because it's plugged into a cheap guitar amp.

Sorey’s influences trace not only to the great jazz predecessors but also to the innovators of 20th century classical music, such as Morton Feldman, Karlheinz Stockhausen, and Pierre Boulez. Last November, Sorey wrapped up a week holding court at the legendary Village Vanguard in New York, a series of performances that earned high praise from the New York Times for his “flowing sense of ritual and constant alertness.”

After his bag of scientific documents is stolen, Brady is held prisoner by the man responsible, who wants him to commit a murder. The Invisible Man discovers that although his invisibility is a defence against detection from humans, it is no protection against a vicious guard dog trained to hunt him down if he attempts to escape.

Premise:
The Invisible Man (later known as H.G. Wells' Invisible Man) is a British science fiction/adventure/espionage television series that aired on ITV from September 1958 to July 1959.
The series follows the adventures of Dr. Peter Brady, a scientist who is attempting to achieve invisibility with light refraction — a completely different technique than the protagonist of the novel utilized. However, the experiment goes wrong and turns him permanently invisible. He is initially declared a state secret and locked up, but eventually convinces the UK government, represented by Sir Charles Anderson, to allow him to return to his laboratory and search for an antidote ("Secret Experiment"). Almost immediately, British Intelligence recruits him for an assignment ("Crisis in the Desert"), but soon security is breached ("Behind the Mask") and he becomes a celebrity ("Picnic with Death"), consequently also using his invisibility to help people in trouble, as well as solve crimes and defeat spies for his country.
