Frank Leroy Forsyth (Our Dad) - Born in Washington, DC February 18, 1925 and departed the earth on November 11, 2015.
In 1944, he entered military service with the Navy Sea Bees. He spent time in the Pacific Theater building infrastructure for other fighting troops during his two years of service and was awarded the medal of Victory. He was honorably discharged at Camp Perry, Virginia in 1946.
After returning from the Navy, he moved to Maryland where he married the love of his life, Betty Ann Forsyth (Nee Carr) and raised two children Karl Steven and Karen Stephanie Forsyth. Frank and his dear friend and partner (Clem) began a home improvement business installing custom kitchens and was contracted by a few Maryland notables. He became an excellent carpenter and finish carpenter. However, when the economy worsened Frank had to obtain a less seasonal income. In 1966 he became a machinist and began making power tools at Black & Decker in Hampstead, Md. He was a very innovative machinist and created many improvements and cost cutting ideas for the company.
He retired in 1983 from Black & Decker and he and his wife Betty began to travel extensively over the USA and Canada in their motorhome, as well as traveled in Europe many times with their friends and family.
In 1995 they moved to Cape Coral, Florida and spent the next 10 years(truly retired) traveling, and enjoying their life. During this time, Frank parlayed his incredible billiards/pool talents into numerous Senior Olympics medals in Florida and Arizona from his pool shooting prowess.
In 2010 Frank and Betty moved to Pompano Beach, Florida to be closer to their daughter, Karen. Sadly, Betty passed away on November 7th, 2012. After that time, Frank and Karen became inseparable. He loved Karen’s dog Suki, more than life itself and they had a mutual obsession with each other.
For those of you who knew Frank, you will remember him as a feisty, funny, kind, giving man (would offer you the shirt from his back), who was the most honest person you'd ever meet, and a clever Mr. "fix-it" kind of guy. He was an extremely proud man, of his military service, his work record, and his ability to provide for his family.
In March, 2015 Frank moved to North Carolina to be closer to his son. Steve was an incredibly attentive caregiver to Frank during his final months.
He was predeceased by his wife Betty Forsyth and his Grandson, Shane Brenton Gay who both passed in 2012. He is survived by his loving daughter Karen, and his loving son Steven and wife Deborah. He is also survived by his grandchildren Kolby Michalski, Cheryle Priester, Jennifer Snyder, John Martin, Guy & Jessica Slater and numerous Great grandchildren and Grand Dogs! Frank was very much a dog lover, and will be missed by his granddogs Suki, Brownie, Hooter and Shana.
Frank was cremated in North Carolina and his ashes to be placed alongside Betty's ashes (The Love of his life) in their crypt at the South Florida National Cemetery, in Boynton Beach, Florida. There is a memorial "Celebration of Life "reception for friends and family in Boca Raton, Florida on Saturday, December 12th, 2015 from 1:00PM until 6:00PM. There will be an ocean-side service at the Red Reef Park Pavilion across the street from Karen's home in Boca Raton. Exact dates and times will be sent out via Facebook. At a private service on December 11th at 1:00PM, family is invited to attend his interment at the South Florida national Cemetery in Boynton Beach, Florida, where he will join with Betty.

Ever since Chris Forsyth started The Solar Motel Band to fill out his long-form rock compositions, the Philly guitarist has proven his versatility not only as an instrumentalist, but also as a storyteller.
Onstage, The Solar Motel Band opts for maximum-volume, high-energy rock 'n' roll — even low-key numbers are massive in their movement. In the NPR Music offices, where amp stacks could rattle books off the shelves, Forsyth culls a set from The Rarity Of Experience that plays to the room and speaks to the malleability of his work. The sparkling "Harmonious Dance" meditates on a gently unfolding melody shared between Forsyth and guitarist Nick Millevoi. Due to touring conflicts, The Solar Motel Band's rhythm section is different here than on record, but bassist Bill Stein provides a grounding force, as drummer Ryan Jewell — a heavy in the Columbus, Ohio, avant-jazz/improv scene for the past decade and change — loosens the very ground beneath it all. It's a dynamic that works to the band's advantage, helping to churn and turn these songs into new forms, like shifting plates beneath the Earth that disrupt and correct themselves.
The Solar Motel Band closes this set with a twofer. First, there's the dubby and rumbling "The First Ten Minutes Of C********* Blues" (a nod to the unreleased Rolling Stones documentary directed by Robert Frank), where Millevoi bends and whammies the strings of his Fender into the dirt. But just as we crawl out from the grime, a buzzing drone segues into "Boston Street Lullaby," an understated and quiet tune with disquieting moments — a disarming journey worth taking.

Gunsmiths like Joseph Manton invented more reliable Some gunsmiths invented other forms of ignition, like the tube lock in 1814. The artist Joshua Shaw designed what is recognized today as the percussion cap, which he patented in the United States in 1822, since Forsyth had threatened his rivals in Britain with legal action. These new forms of ignition proved popular among hunters during the Regency period, who had their old reliable flintlocks converted. During the Napoleonic Wars Forsyth worked on his design at the Tower armories. But when a new Master General of Ordnance was appointed he was dismissed; other experiments had had destructive results and the new master general did not wish to see Britain's main arsenal destroyed.
Napoleon Bonaparte offered Forsyth a reward of £20,000 if he took his invention to France, but Forsyth declined. The French gunsmith Jean Lepage developed a similar form of ignition in 1807 based on Forsyth's design, but this was not pursued.

Quattro storie da brivido dalla Amicus, la celebre casa di produzione inglese specializzata in horror a episodi.
Un medico si reca in un istituto psichiatrico in cerca di lavoro. Qua apprende che il primario dell'ospedale, dopo essere impazzito è stato ricoverato insieme agli altri pazienti. Il nuovo direttore decide quindi di lanciargli una sfida: il dottore sarà assunto se riuscirà a identificare l'ormai folle Dottor Starr che, sotto mentite spoglie, si comporta esattamente come gli altri pazienti del manicomio. Così, il nuovo arrivato decide di parlare con i malati dell'istituto per capire chi possa essere il dottore e, da questo filo conduttore, partono quattro storie che riguardano altrettanti ospiti della struttura.
Nel primo episodio, un uomo dopo aver fatto a pezzi la moglie, deve combattere con gli arti recisi della consorte che, usciti dal frigorifero, non gli danno tregua. Testa, gambe e braccia si muovono in maniera autonoma per tormentarlo, costringendolo a passare una notte di terrore.
La seconda storia ha come protagonista un sarto, che un giorno riceve la visita di un misterioso signore (Peter Cushing) che gli fa una strana richiesta: l'artigiano dovrà confezionargli un vestito realizzato con una stoffa particolare. Il sarto farà il suo lavoro, ma il misterioso vestito, una volta realizzato, si rivelerà in grado di risvegliare i morti.
Il terzo segmento riguarda una ragazza (Charlotte Rampling) ossessionata da un'amica. Verrà fuori una storia di schizofrenia, in cui la folle protagonista rimane vittima di uno sdoppiamento di personalità che la spingerà perfino a uccidere.
Infine, facciamo la conoscenza di un misterioso dottore che afferma di aver donato la vita a alcuni manichini. Ovviamente non viene creduto (ci troviamo pur sempre in un manicomio), ma quando il giovane interlocutore si accorgerà che i pupazzi sono in grado di muoversi autonomamente e che all'interno sono dotati di sangue e organi vitali dovrà ricredersi...
Riuscirà il giovane a individuare fra questi pazienti il folle luminare? Lui forse no, ma lo spettatore sì, perché la soluzione non è poi così difficile. C'è da dire che tutte le storie sono però piuttosto originali e, una volta tanto, vengono lasciati da parte vampiri e lupi mannari per dare spazio a spunti abbastanza fantasiosi. LA MORTE DIETRO IL CANCELLO non è un capolavoro, ma il risultato è ben sopra la sufficienza.

Oprah Winfrey
Oprah Gail Winfrey, born January 29, 1954, is an American media proprietor, talk show host, actress, producer, and philanthropist. She is best known for her talk show The Oprah Winfrey Show, which was the highest-rated program of its kind in history and was nationally syndicated from 1986 to 2011. Dubbed the "Queen of All Media", she has been ranked the richest African-American of the 20th century, the greatest black philanthropist in American history, and is now North America's first and only multi-billionaire Black. Several assessments regard her as the most influential woman in the world. In 2013, she was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom by President Barack Obama and honorary doctorate degrees from Duke and Harvard.
Winfrey was born into poverty in rural Mississippi to a teenage single mother and later raised in an inner-city Milwaukee neighborhood. She has stated that she was molested during her childhood and early teens and became pregnant at 14; her son died in infancy. Sent to live with the man she calls her father, a barber in Tennessee, Winfrey landed a job in radio while still in high school and began co-anchoring the local evening news at the age of 19. Her emotional ad-lib delivery eventually got her transferred to the daytime-talk-show arena, and after boosting a third-rated local Chicago talk show to first place, she launched her own production company and became internationally syndicated.

The Oprah Winfrey Show
The Oprah Winfrey Show, often referred to simply as Oprah, is an American syndicated tabloid talk show that aired nationally for 25 seasons from September 8, 1986 to May 25, 2011 in Chicago, Illinois. Produced and hosted by its namesake, Oprah Winfrey, it remains the highest-rated talk show in American television history.
The show has been highly influential, and many of its topics have penetrated into the American pop-cultural consciousness. Winfrey has used the show as an educational platform, featuring book clubs, interviews, self-improvement segments, and philanthropic forays into world events. The show does not attempt to profit off the products it endorses; it has had no licensing agreement with retailers when products were promoted, nor has the show made any money from endorsing books for its book club.
Oprah is one of the longest-running daytime television tabloid talk shows in history. The show received 47 Daytime Emmy Awards before Winfrey chose to stop submitting it for consideration in 2000.

Ever since Chris Forsyth started The Solar Motel Band to fill out his long-form rock compositions, the Philly guitarist has proven his versatility not only as an instrumentalist, but also as a storyteller. Onstage, The Solar Motel Band opts for maximum-volume, high-energy rock 'n' roll — even low-key numbers are massive in their movement. In the NPR Music offices, where amp stacks could rattle books off the shelves, Forsyth culls a set from The Rarity Of Experience that plays to the room and speaks to the malleability of his work. The sparkling "Harmonious Dance" meditates on a gently unfolding melody shared between Forsyth and guitarist Nick Millevoi. Due to touring conflicts, The Solar Motel Band's rhythm section is different here than on record, but bassist Bill Stein provides a grounding force, as drummer Ryan Jewell — a heavy in the Columbus, Ohio, avant-jazz/improv scene for the past decade and change — loosens the very ground beneath it all. It's a dynamic that works to the band's advantage, helping to churn and turn these songs into new forms, like shifting plates beneath the Earth that disrupt and correct themselves. The Solar Motel Band closes this set with a twofer. First, there's the dubby and rumbling "The First Ten Minutes Of C********* Blues" (a nod to the unreleased Rolling Stones documentary directed by Robert Frank), where Millevoi bends and whammies the strings of his Fender into the dirt. But just as we crawl out from the grime, a buzzing drone segues into "Boston Street Lullaby," an understated and quiet tune with disquieting moments — a disarming journey worth taking. Gunsmiths like Joseph Manton invented more reliable Some gunsmiths invented other forms of ignition, like the tube lock in 1814. The artist Joshua Shaw designed what is recognized today as the percussion cap, which he patented in the United States in 1822, since Forsyth had threatened his rivals in Britain with legal action. These new forms of ignition proved popular among hunters during the Regency period, who had their old reliable flintlocks converted. During the Napoleonic Wars Forsyth worked on his design at the Tower armories. But when a new Master General of Ordnance was appointed he was dismissed; other experiments had had destructive results and the new master general did not wish to see Britain's main arsenal destroyed. Napoleon Bonaparte offered Forsyth a reward of £20,000 if he took his invention to France, but Forsyth declined. The French gunsmith Jean Lepage developed a similar form of ignition in 1807 based on Forsyth's design, but this was not pursued. -

Un medico si reca in un istituto psichiatrico in cerca di lavoro. Qua apprende che il primario dell'ospedale, dopo essere impazzito è stato ricoverato insieme agli altri pazienti. Il nuovo direttore decide quindi di lanciargli una sfida: il dottore sarà assunto se riuscirà a identificare l'ormai folle Dottor Starr che, sotto mentite spoglie, si comporta esattamente come gli altri pazienti del manicomio. Così, il nuovo arrivato decide di parlare con i malati dell'istituto per capire chi possa essere il dottore e, da questo filo conduttore, partono quattro storie che riguardano altrettanti ospiti della struttura. Nel primo episodio, un uomo dopo aver fatto a pezzi la moglie, deve combattere con gli arti recisi della consorte che, usciti dal frigorifero, non gli danno tregua. Testa, gambe e braccia si muovono in maniera autonoma per tormentarlo, costringendolo a passare una notte di terrore. La seconda storia ha come protagonista un sarto, che un giorno riceve la visita di un misterioso signore (Peter Cushing) che gli fa una strana richiesta: l'artigiano dovrà confezionargli un vestito realizzato con una stoffa particolare. Il sarto farà il suo lavoro, ma il misterioso vestito, una volta realizzato, si rivelerà in grado di risvegliare i morti. Il terzo segmento riguarda una ragazza (Charlotte Rampling) ossessionata da un'amica. Verrà fuori una storia di schizofrenia, in cui la folle protagonista rimane vittima di uno sdoppiamento di personalità che la spingerà perfino a uccidere. Infine, facciamo la conoscenza di un misterioso dottore che afferma di aver donato la vita a alcuni manichini. Ovviamente non viene creduto (ci troviamo pur sempre in un manicomio), ma quando il giovane interlocutore si accorgerà che i pupazzi sono in grado di muoversi autonomamente e che all'interno sono dotati di sangue e organi vitali dovrà ricredersi... Riuscirà il giovane a individuare fra questi pazienti il folle luminare? Lui forse no, ma lo spettatore sì, perché la soluzione non è poi così difficile. C'è da dire che tutte le storie sono però piuttosto originali e, una volta tanto, vengono lasciati da parte vampiri e lupi mannari per dare spazio a spunti abbastanza fantasiosi. LA MORTE DIETRO IL CANCELLO non è un capolavoro, ma il risultato è ben sopra la sufficienza. -

In 1987, The Oprah Show had only been on the air for five months and trouble was brewing in the deep south. Forsyth County, Georgia, known for being a hotbed of racism, was in the headlines for some residents' hostile response to local civil rights protests. For the first time, Oprah left her studio and headed straight into the eye of the storm. "What are you afraid that black people are going to do?" Oprah asked the all-white audience of community members. "I'm afraid of them coming to Forsyth county," one man said. "I lived in Atlanta—I was born in Atlanta—and in 1963 the first blacks were bussed to West Fulton High School. And I go down there now, and I see my neighborhood and my community, which was a nice community, a nice neighborhood, and now it's nothing but a rat-infested slum area because they don't care. They don't care." Not everyone in the attendance that day shared his indignation. At least one woman contradicted the media portrayal when she said, "I just really hate to think that it's going to take either someone black or white getting hurt or losing their lives before people can sit down and talk this out. It is a time for change—there's nothing we can do about it." Within a matter of months, it had dropped to 30. It's the largest racial cleansing in America that I know of." —Cox Newspapers reporter Elliot Jaspin A historic black-and-white photograph of two African American women and one man standing outside In the early 1900s, there were more than 1,000 African Americans in Forsyth County, Georgia, comprising 10 percent of the population. But in 1912, whites violently expelled all black residents from the county. Today, Forsyth County is home to about 150,000 people, more than 95 percent of them white. In January 1987, a white martial arts instructor in Forsyth County organized a brotherhood march in honor of the first federal holiday honoring Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., and with the intent of countering the area’s racist image. But en route to the event a bus full of marchers was assaulted by a crowd of white supremacists chanting racial slurs and throwing rocks and bottles. In danger of physical harm, the marchers turned back. A mob of white men and women shouting and waving Confederate flags Two weeks later, a much larger march involving 20,000 civil rights activists and supporters from across the country headed back to the county in protest. An estimated 5,000 counter-demonstrators also showed up. This large demonstration cost Forsyth County approximately $670,000 in police overtime, angering many local taxpayers who were unhappy at having to foot the bill for what they saw as outside agitators. The town subsequently levied large parade permit fees to discourage future demonstrations, but that effort was disallowed by the U.S. Supreme Court in Forsyth County, Georgia v. The Nationalist Movement, 1992. A historic newspaper headline reading “Negroes Flee From Forsyth: Enraged White People Are Driving Blacks From County” These events brought national media attention to the area. News crews and The Oprah Winfrey Show descended on Forsyth County to investigate. The governor set up a biracial commission to try to heal the racial rift, with little success, and a legal team began to assemble a lawsuit on behalf of the descendants of the black families expelled in 1912. While no suit was filed in the end, the team gathered compelling personal stories and hard evidence of widespread land loss. Adverse Possession Building on this evidence, Cox Newspapers reporter Elliot Jaspin was inspired to trace land deeds and tax rolls back to 1912. He found further proof that the majority of the property owned by the banished African Americans was never sold, but instead taken by their white neighbors. Called adverse possession, this process is partly statutory and partly common law, and involves the legal acquisition of a title to a property without having to pay for it. In the case of the land in Forsyth County, white residents simply held the property belonging to black residents following their banishment. In the state of Georgia, the period of adverse possession is seven years. After this period of time, whites legally owned the land. White title attorneys such as Phil Bettis plead ignorance regarding the appropriation of black-owned land, but some descendants of these black families have declared that the property is rightfully theirs. With missing title transfers and deeds of sale between former black residents and current white property owners are often missing; therefore, returning the land in Forsyth County to the descendants of its rightful owners remains a controversial and legal challenge.

Frank Leroy Forsyth (Our Dad) - Born in Washington, DC February 18, 1925 and departed the earth on November 11, 2015. In 1944, he entered military service with the Navy Sea Bees. He spent time in the Pacific Theater building infrastructure for other fighting troops during his two years of service and was awarded the medal of Victory. He was honorably discharged at Camp Perry, Virginia in 1946. After returning from the Navy, he moved to Maryland where he married the love of his life, Betty Ann Forsyth (Nee Carr) and raised two children Karl Steven and Karen Stephanie Forsyth. Frank and his dear friend and partner (Clem) began a home improvement business installing custom kitchens and was contracted by a few Maryland notables. Frank Leroy Forsyth (Our Dad) - Born in Washington, DC February 18, 1925 and departed the earth on November 11, 2015.
In 1944, he entered military service with the Navy Sea Bees. He spent time in the Pacific Theater building infrastructure for other fighting troops during his two years of service and was awarded the medal of Victory. He was honorably discharged at Camp Perry, Virginia in 1946.
After returning from the Navy, he moved to Maryland where he married the love of his life, Betty Ann Forsyth (Nee Carr) and raised two children Karl Steven and Karen Stephanie Forsyth. Frank and his dear friend and partner (Clem) began a home improvement business installing custom kitchens and was contracted by a few Maryland notables. He became an excellent carpenter and finish carpenter. However, when the economy worsened Frank had to obtain a less seasonal income. In 1966 he became a machinist and began making power tools at Black & Decker in Hampstead, Md. He was a very innovative machinist and created many improvements and cost cutting ideas for the company.
He retired in 1983 from Black & Decker and he and his wife Betty began to travel extensively over the USA and Canada in their motorhome, as well as traveled in Europe many times with their friends and family.
In 1995 they moved to Cape Coral, Florida and spent the next 10 years(truly retired) traveling, and enjoying their life. During this time, Frank parlayed his incredible billiards/pool talents into numerous Senior Olympics medals in Florida and Arizona from his pool shooting prowess.
In 2010 Frank and Betty moved to Pompano Beach, Florida to be closer to their daughter, Karen. Sadly, Betty passed away on November 7th, 2012. After that time, Frank and Karen became inseparable. He loved Karen’s dog Suki, more than life itself and they had a mutual obsession with each other.
For those of you who knew Frank, you will remember him as a feisty, funny, kind, giving man (would offer you the shirt from his back), who was the most honest person you'd ever meet, and a clever Mr. "fix-it" kind of guy. He was an extremely proud man, of his military service, his work record, and his ability to provide for his family.
In March, 2015 Frank moved to North Carolina to be closer to his son. Steve was an incredibly attentive caregiver to Frank during his final months.
He was predeceased by his wife Betty Forsyth and his Grandson, Shane Brenton Gay who both passed in 2012. He is survived by his loving daughter Karen, and his loving son Steven and wife Deborah. He is also survived by his grandchildren Kolby Michalski, Cheryle Priester, Jennifer Snyder, John Martin, Guy & Jessica Slater and numerous Great grandchildren and Grand Dogs! Frank was very much a dog lover, and will be missed by his granddogs Suki, Brownie, Hooter and Shana.
Frank was cremated in North Carolina and his ashes to be placed alongside Betty's ashes (The Love of his life) in their crypt at the South Florida National Cemetery, in Boynton Beach, Florida. There is a memorial "Celebration of Life "reception for friends and family in Boca Raton, Florida on Saturday, December 12th, 2015 from 1:00PM until 6:00PM. There will be an ocean-side service at the Red Reef Park Pavilion across the street from Karen's home in Boca Raton. Exact dates and times will be sent out via Facebook. At a private service on December 11th at 1:00PM, family is invited to attend his interment at the South Florida national Cemetery in Boynton Beach, Florida, where he will join with Betty.

July 15, 2016 by LARS GOTRICH • There's a point when a jam is just a jam, and when a jam becomes a journey... man. Ever since Chris Forsyth started The Solar Motel Band to fill out his long-form rock compositions, the Philly guitarist has proven his versatility not only as an instrumentalist, but also as a storyteller.
Onstage, The Solar Motel Band opts for maximum-volume, high-energy rock 'n' roll — even low-key numbers are massive in their movement. In the NPR Music offices, where amp stacks could rattle books off the shelves, Forsyth culls a set from The Rarity Of Experience that plays to the room and speaks to the malleability of his work. The sparkling "Harmonious Dance" meditates on a gently unfolding melody shared between Forsyth and guitarist Nick Millevoi. Due to touring conflicts, The Solar Motel Band's rhythm section is different here than on record, but bassist Bill Stein provides a grounding force, as drummer Ryan Jewell — a heavy in the Columbus, Ohio, avant-jazz/improv scene for the past decade and change — loosens the very ground beneath it all. It's a dynamic that works to the band's advantage, helping to churn and turn these songs into new forms, like shifting plates beneath the Earth that disrupt and correct themselves.
The Solar Motel Band closes this set with a twofer. First, there's the dubby and rumbling "The First Ten Minutes Of C********* Blues" (a nod to the unreleased Rolling Stones documentary directed by Robert Frank), where Millevoi bends and whammies the strings of his Fender into the dirt. But just as we crawl out from the grime, a buzzing drone segues into "Boston Street Lullaby," an understated and quiet tune with disquieting moments — a disarming journey worth taking.

The artist Joshua Shaw designed what is recognized today as the percussion cap, which he patented in the United States in 1822, since Forsyth had threatened his rivals in Britain with legal action. These new forms of ignition proved popular among hunters during the Regency period, who had their old reliable flintlocks converted. During the Napoleonic Wars Forsyth worked on his design at the Tower armories. But when a new Master General of Ordnance was appointed he was dismissed; other experiments had had destructive results and the new master general did not wish to see Britain's main arsenal destroyed.
Napoleon Bonaparte offered Forsyth a reward of £20,000 if he took his invention to France, but Forsyth declined. The French gunsmith Jean Lepage developed a similar form of ignition in 1807 based on Forsyth's design, but this was not pursued.

Un medico si reca in un istituto psichiatrico in cerca di lavoro. Qua apprende che il primario dell'ospedale, dopo essere impazzito è stato ricoverato insieme agli altri pazienti. Il nuovo direttore decide quindi di lanciargli una sfida: il dottore sarà assunto se riuscirà a identificare l'ormai folle Dottor Starr che, sotto mentite spoglie, si comporta esattamente come gli altri pazienti del manicomio. Così, il nuovo arrivato decide di parlare con i malati dell'istituto per capire chi possa essere il dottore e, da questo filo conduttore, partono quattro storie che riguardano altrettanti ospiti della struttura.
Nel primo episodio, un uomo dopo aver fatto a pezzi la moglie, deve combattere con gli arti recisi della consorte che, usciti dal frigorifero, non gli danno tregua. Testa, gambe e braccia si muovono in maniera autonoma per tormentarlo, costringendolo a passare una notte di terrore.
La seconda storia ha come protagonista un sarto, che un giorno riceve la visita di un misterioso signore (Peter Cushing) che gli fa una strana richiesta: l'artigiano dovrà confezionargli un vestito realizzato con una stoffa particolare. Il sarto farà il suo lavoro, ma il misterioso vestito, una volta realizzato, si rivelerà in grado di risvegliare i morti.
Il terzo segmento riguarda una ragazza (Charlotte Rampling) ossessionata da un'amica. Verrà fuori una storia di schizofrenia, in cui la folle protagonista rimane vittima di uno sdoppiamento di personalità che la spingerà perfino a uccidere.
Infine, facciamo la conoscenza di un misterioso dottore che afferma di aver donato la vita a alcuni manichini. Ovviamente non viene creduto (ci troviamo pur sempre in un manicomio), ma quando il giovane interlocutore si accorgerà che i pupazzi sono in grado di muoversi autonomamente e che all'interno sono dotati di sangue e organi vitali dovrà ricredersi...
Riuscirà il giovane a individuare fra questi pazienti il folle luminare? Lui forse no, ma lo spettatore sì, perché la soluzione non è poi così difficile. C'è da dire che tutte le storie sono però piuttosto originali e, una volta tanto, vengono lasciati da parte vampiri e lupi mannari per dare spazio a spunti abbastanza fantasiosi. LA MORTE DIETRO IL CANCELLO non è un capolavoro, ma il risultato è ben sopra la sufficienza.

In 1987, The Oprah Show had only been on the air for five months and trouble was brewing in the deep south. Forsyth County, Georgia, known for being a hotbed of racism, was in the headlines for some residents' hostile response to local civil rights protests. For the first time, Oprah left her studio and headed straight into the eye of the storm.
"What are you afraid that black people are going to do?" Oprah asked the all-white audience of community members. "I'm afraid of them coming to Forsyth county," one man said. "I lived in Atlanta—I was born in Atlanta—and in 1963 the first blacks were bussed to West Fulton High School. And I go down there now, and I see my neighborhood and my community, which was a nice community, a nice neighborhood, and now it's nothing but a rat-infested slum area because they don't care. They don't care."
Not everyone in the attendance that day shared his indignation. At least one woman contradicted the media portrayal when she said, "I just really hate to think that it's going to take either someone black or white getting hurt or losing their lives before people can sit down and talk this out. It is a time for change—there's nothing we can do about it."

In the early 1900s, there were more than 1,000 African Americans in Forsyth County, Georgia, comprising 10 percent of the population. But in 1912, whites violently expelled all black residents from the county. Today, Forsyth County is home to about 150,000 people, more than 95 percent of them white.
In January 1987, a white martial arts instructor in Forsyth County organized a brotherhood march in honor of the first federal holiday honoring Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., and with the intent of countering the area’s racist image. But en route to the event a bus full of marchers was assaulted by a crowd of white supremacists chanting racial slurs and throwing rocks and bottles. In danger of physical harm, the marchers turned back.

Two weeks later, a much larger march involving 20,000 civil rights activists and supporters from across the country headed back to the county in protest. An estimated 5,000 counter-demonstrators also showed up. This large demonstration cost Forsyth County approximately $670,000 in police overtime, angering many local taxpayers who were unhappy at having to foot the bill for what they saw as outside agitators. The town subsequently levied large parade permit fees to discourage future demonstrations, but that effort was disallowed by the U.S. Supreme Court in Forsyth County, Georgia v. The Nationalist Movement, 1992.

These events brought national media attention to the area. News crews and The Oprah Winfrey Show descended on Forsyth County to investigate. The governor set up a biracial commission to try to heal the racial rift, with little success, and a legal team began to assemble a lawsuit on behalf of the descendants of the black families expelled in 1912. While no suit was filed in the end, the team gathered compelling personal stories and hard evidence of widespread land loss.
Adverse Possession
Building on this evidence, Cox Newspapers reporter Elliot Jaspin was inspired to trace land deeds and tax rolls back to 1912. He found further proof that the majority of the property owned by the banished African Americans was never sold, but instead taken by their white neighbors. Called adverse possession, this process is partly statutory and partly common law, and involves the legal acquisition of a title to a property without having to pay for it. In the case of the land in Forsyth County, white residents simply held the property belonging to black residents following their banishment. In the state of Georgia, the period of adverse possession is seven years. After this period of time, whites legally owned the land.
White title attorneys such as Phil Bettis plead ignorance regarding the appropriation of black-owned land, but some descendants of these black families have declared that the property is rightfully theirs. With missing title transfers and deeds of sale between former black residents and current white property owners are often missing; therefore, returning the land in Forsyth County to the descendants of its rightful owners remains a controversial and legal challenge.

Building on this evidence, Cox Newspapers reporter Elliot Jaspin was inspired to trace land deeds and tax rolls back to 1912. He found further proof that the majority of the property owned by the banished African Americans was never sold, but instead taken by their white neighbors. Called adverse possession, this process is partly statutory and partly common law, and involves the legal acquisition of a title to a property without having to pay for it. In the case of the land in Forsyth County, white residents simply held the property belonging to black residents following their banishment. In the state of Georgia, the period of adverse possession is seven years. After this period of time, whites legally owned the land.
White title attorneys such as Phil Bettis plead ignorance regarding the appropriation of black-owned land, but some descendants of these black families have declared that the property is rightfully theirs. With missing title transfers and deeds of sale between former black residents and current white property owners are often missing; therefore, returning the land in Forsyth County to the descendants of its rightful owners remains a controversial and legal challenge.

Frank Leroy Forsyth (Our Dad) - Born in Washington, DC February 18, 1925 and departed the earth on November 11, 2015.
In 1944, he entered military service with the Navy Sea Bees. He spent time in the Pacific Theater building infrastructure for other fighting troops during his two years of service and was awarded the medal of Victory. He was honorably discharged at Camp Perry, Virginia in 1946.
After returning from the Navy, he moved to Maryland where he married the love of his life, Betty Ann Forsyth (Nee Carr) and raised two children Karl Steven and Karen Stephanie Forsyth. Frank and his dear friend and partner (Clem) began a home improvement business installing custom kitchens and was contracted by a few Maryland notables. He became an excellent carpenter and finish carpenter. However, when the economy worsened Frank had to obtain a less seasonal income. In 1966 he became a machinist and began making power tools at Black & Decker in Hampstead, Md. He was a very innovative machinist and created many improvements and cost cutting ideas for the company.
He retired in 1983 from Black & Decker and he and his wife Betty began to travel extensively over the USA and Canada in their motorhome, as well as traveled in Europe many times with their friends and family.
In 1995 they moved to Cape Coral, Florida and spent the next 10 years(truly retired) traveling, and enjoying their life. During this time, Frank parlayed his incredible billiards/pool talents into numerous Senior Olympics medals in Florida and Arizona from his pool shooting prowess.
In 2010 Frank and Betty moved to Pompano Beach, Florida to be closer to their daughter, Karen. Sadly, Betty passed away on November 7th, 2012. After that time, Frank and Karen became inseparable. He loved Karen’s dog Suki, more than life itself and they had a mutual obsession with each other.
For those of you who knew Frank, you will remember him as a feisty, funny, kind, giving man (would offer you the shirt from his back), who was the most honest person you'd ever meet, and a clever Mr. "fix-it" kind of guy. He was an extremely proud man, of his military service, his work record, and his ability to provide for his family.
In March, 2015 Frank moved to North Carolina to be closer to his son. Steve was an incredibly attentive caregiver to Frank during his final months.
He was predeceased by his wife Betty Forsyth and his Grandson, Shane Brenton Gay who both passed in 2012. He is survived by his loving daughter Karen, and his loving son Steven and wife Deborah. He is also survived by his grandchildren Kolby Michalski, Cheryle Priester, Jennifer Snyder, John Martin, Guy & Jessica Slater and numerous Great grandchildren and Grand Dogs! Frank was very much a dog lover, and will be missed by his granddogs Suki, Brownie, Hooter and Shana.
Frank was cremated in North Carolina and his ashes to be placed alongside Betty's ashes (The Love of his life) in their crypt at the South Florida National Cemetery, in Boynton Beach, Florida. There is a memorial "Celebration of Life "reception for friends and family in Boca Raton, Florida on Saturday, December 12th, 2015 from 1:00PM until 6:00PM. There will be an ocean-side service at the Red Reef Park Pavilion across the street from Karen's home in Boca Raton. Exact dates and times will be sent out via Facebook. At a private service on December 11th at 1:00PM, family is invited to attend his interment at the South Florida national Cemetery in Boynton Beach, Florida, where he will join with Betty.

Un medico si reca in un istituto psichiatrico in cerca di lavoro. Qua apprende che il primario dell'ospedale, dopo essere impazzito è stato ricoverato insieme agli altri pazienti. Il nuovo direttore decide quindi di lanciargli una sfida: il dottore sarà assunto se riuscirà a identificare l'ormai folle Dottor Starr che, sotto mentite spoglie, si comporta esattamente come gli altri pazienti del manicomio. Così, il nuovo arrivato decide di parlare con i malati dell'istituto per capire chi possa essere il dottore e, da questo filo conduttore, partono quattro storie che riguardano altrettanti ospiti della struttura.
Nel primo episodio, un uomo dopo aver fatto a pezzi la moglie, deve combattere con gli arti recisi della consorte che, usciti dal frigorifero, non gli danno tregua. Testa, gambe e braccia si muovono in maniera autonoma per tormentarlo, costringendolo a passare una notte di terrore.
La seconda storia ha come protagonista un sarto, che un giorno riceve la visita di un misterioso signore (Peter Cushing) che gli fa una strana richiesta: l'artigiano dovrà confezionargli un vestito realizzato con una stoffa particolare. Il sarto farà il suo lavoro, ma il misterioso vestito, una volta realizzato, si rivelerà in grado di risvegliare i morti.
Il terzo segmento riguarda una ragazza (Charlotte Rampling) ossessionata da un'amica. Verrà fuori una storia di schizofrenia, in cui la folle protagonista rimane vittima di uno sdoppiamento di personalità che la spingerà perfino a uccidere.
Infine, facciamo la conoscenza di un misterioso dottore che afferma di aver donato la vita a alcuni manichini. Ovviamente non viene creduto (ci troviamo pur sempre in un manicomio), ma quando il giovane interlocutore si accorgerà che i pupazzi sono in grado di muoversi autonomamente e che all'interno sono dotati di sangue e organi vitali dovrà ricredersi...
Riuscirà il giovane a individuare fra questi pazienti il folle luminare? Lui forse no, ma lo spettatore sì, perché la soluzione non è poi così difficile. C'è da dire che tutte le storie sono però piuttosto originali e, una volta tanto, vengono lasciati da parte vampiri e lupi mannari per dare spazio a spunti abbastanza fantasiosi. LA MORTE DIETRO IL CANCELLO non è un capolavoro, ma il risultato è ben sopra la sufficienza.
