A bid price is the highest price that a buyer (i.e., bidder) is willing to pay for a good. It is usually referred to simply as the "bid."
In bid and ask, the bid price stands in contrast to the ask price or "offer", and the difference between the two is called the bid–ask spread.
An unsolicited bid or purchase offer is when a person or company receives a bid even though they are not looking to sell.
A bidding war is said to occur when a large number of bids are placed in rapid succession by two or more entities, especially when the price paid is much greater than the ask price, or greater than the first bid in the case of unsolicited bidding.
In other word, bidding war is a situation where two or more buyers are so interested in an item (such as a house or a business) that they make increasingly higher offers of the price they are willing to pay to try to become the new owner of the item.
In the context of stock trading on a stock exchange, the bid price is the highest price a buyer of a stock is willing to pay for a share of that given stock. The bid price displayed in most quote services is the highest bid price in the market. The ask or offer price on the other hand is the lowest price a seller of a particular stock is willing to sell a share of that given stock. The ask or offer price displayed is the lowest ask/offer price in the market (Stock market).
In ordinary usage, price is the quantity of payment or compensation given by one party to another in return for goods or services.
In modern economies, prices are generally expressed in units of some form of currency. (For commodities, they are expressed as currency per unit weight of the commodity, e.g. euros per kilogram.) Although prices could be quoted as quantities of other goods or services this sort of barter exchange is rarely seen. Prices are sometimes quoted in terms of vouchers such as trading stamps and air miles. In some circumstances, cigarettes have been used as currency, for example in prisons, in times of hyperinflation, and in some places during World War 2. In a black market economy, barter is also relatively common.
In many financial transactions, it is customary to quote prices in other ways. The most obvious example is in pricing a loan, when the cost will be expressed as the percentage rate of interest. The total amount of interest payable depends upon credit risk, the loan amount and the period of the loan. Other examples can be found in pricing financial derivatives and other financial assets. For instance the price of inflation-linked government securities in several countries is quoted as the actual price divided by a factor representing inflation since the security was issued.

The Price Is Right is a television game show franchise originally produced by Mark Goodson and Bill Todman, and created by Bob Stewart, and is currently produced and owned by FremantleMedia. The franchise centers on television game shows, but also includes merchandise such as video games, printed media and board games. The franchise began in 1956 as a television game show hosted by Bill Cullen and was revamped in 1972. This version was originally hosted by Bob Barker. Since 2007, Drew Carey has hosted the program.
In the show, contestants compete to win cash and prizes by guessing the pricing of merchandise. The program has been critically successful and remains a stalwart in the television ratings. If you want to purchase shares right away, you are going to have to pay the asking price. Similarly, if you want to sell shares right away, you have to pay the bidding price. Bid: -What people are looking to get the order at -If you want to purchase 100 shares of Nike, you might bid $50.90, but the ask is $50.98 -In order to get that order, you need to pay $50.98 Ask -What people are looking to get for the stock Bid-Ask Spread -It is the difference between the bid and the ask -What the market makers have to make -i.e. $50.98-$50.90 = $0.08 -$0.08 is what the market makers get paid to execute that order -As soon as you purchase the stock you lose $0.08 per share -You can't buy and sell immediately because it will be costly -You need to take the bid-ask spread into account when trading ★...

The Stock Market Documentary - World Documentary HD A stock market, equity market or share market is the aggregation of buyers and sellers (a loose network of economic transactions, not a physical facility or discrete entity) of stocks (also called shares); these may include securities listed on a stock exchange as well as those only traded privately. [Verse 1:]
Like a dull guillotine,
I have left you incomplete.
Failing to follow through,
Though cut deep enough to prove
My weaknesses my all time
Low took you further down.
Amazed that you stayed around.
It's as if you knew
Just what our lives would one day be.
You saw beauty through debris.
[Chorus:]
And I owe you everything,
That side of me you won't see again -
It's over, all that's over.
You found it within your heart to leave it all behind,
And now that's over, all that's over now.
[Verse 2:]
Just the thought, to have not,
Anything we've since then brought,
Into life, side by side,
Now life's never felt more right.
Through my wrongs I realize
Everything I could have missed,
And now a stronger man exists.
And true love is something
That can never be brought down.
Let it fall forever now.
[Bridge:]
We've had our trials, been put to the test.
With all that behind us now, I'm truly blessed.
For all you gave me I can't find the words.
