Fantasy Island was a TV series about a unique resort island paradise, which visitors could have their fantasies literally fulfilled. Before it became a long-running original television series, Fantasy Island was introduced to viewers in 1977 through two highly-rated made-for-television films.
Airing from 1978 to 1984, the original series starred Ricardo Montalbán as Mr. Roarke, the enigmatic overseer of a mysterious island somewhere in the Pacific Ocean, where people from all walks of life could come and live out their fantasies, albeit for a price. Roarke was known for his white suit and cultured demeanor, and was initially accompanied by an energetic sidekick, Tattoo, played by Hervé Villechaize.
Tattoo would run up the main bell tower to ring the bell and shout "The plane! The plane!" to announce the arrival of a new set of guests at the beginning of each episode.

Season 2 of Fantasy Island.There were many, as each episode
featured 2 or 3 storylines and subsequent guests for each one.An
Aaron Spelling production, it paralleled Love Boat and Murder She
Wrote in theme and style.Easy on the eyes,light on the mind,the
series concept allowed the writers unlimited creativity in scope,
time or mood.Sadly most of the stories were less than memorable,
and the series itself is remembered mostly in parody.Tattoo's
catchphrase "Da plane da plane" is burned in the cultural lexicon.
Some Fantasy Island factoids.
1.Very little is known about the man known as Mr. Roarke
2,There are hints throughout the series that suggest Roarke may
be immortal.
3.In the first film it was noted that each guest had paid $50,000
(about $200,000 in 2014 dollars) in advance for the fulfillment
of their fantasies
4.Aaron Spelling admitted the original pitch was a joke
5.Time-travel was often a required element
6.The only episode with a single storyline was "The Wedding"
in which terminally ill Helena Marsh (Samantha Eggar) returned
to Fantasy Island to spend her last days as Roarke's wife.

Fantasy Island
Fantasy Island is a resort, where there is very little that the host, Mr. Roarke cannot provide. Thus we have visitors have adventures in fantasies that should be impossible, but this island can accommodate them such as visits to any time period they want, meet absolutely anyone they see to do something they request such as getting William Shakespeare to write a play for them. The only constant (until the final season) was at the sight of the incoming visitors, the Mr. Roarke's midget assistant runs up to the bell tower to ring the bell and shout "De plane!, De plane!"

Fantasy Island was a mysterious island in the Pacific Ocean that people would go to have their fantasies come true. But the show's surprising plots and twists proved that nobody's fantasy went exactly as planned.
This 1981 episode features the 2 stories "The Heroine" and "The Warrier". The mysterious and unpredictable outcomes unfolding in this show are a joy to watch. It's a shame that they don't make dramas like this anymore.
