Lewis (Scottish Gaelic: Leòdhas, pronounced [ʎɔː.əs̪], also Isle of Lewis) is the northern part of Lewis and Harris, the largest island of the Western Isles or Outer Hebrides (an archipelago) of Scotland. The total area of Lewis is 683 square miles (1,770 km2).
Lewis is, in general, the lower lying part of the island, with the other part, Harris, being more mountainous. The flatter, more fertile land means Lewis contains the largest settlement, Stornoway, and three-quarters of the population of the Western Isles. Beyond human habitation, the island's diverse habitats are home to an assortment of flora and fauna, such as the golden eagle, red deer and seals and are recognised in a number of conservation areas.
Lewis is of Presbyterian tradition with a rich history, having once been part of the Norse Kingdom of Mann and the Isles. Today, life is very different from elsewhere in Scotland with Sabbath observance, the Gaelic language and peat cutting retaining more importance than elsewhere. Lewis has a rich cultural heritage as can be seen from its myths and legends as well as the local literary and musical traditions.
Lily Rose Beatrice Cooper (née Allen; born 2 May 1985), known professionally as Lily Allen, is an English singer, songwriter, actress, and television presenter. She is the daughter of Keith Allen and film producer Alison Owen. Allen left school when she was 15 and concentrated on improving her performing and compositional skills. In 2005, she made some of her recordings public on Myspace and the publicity resulted in airplay on BBC Radio 1 and a contract with Regal Recordings.
Her first mainstream single, "Smile", reached number one on the UK Singles Chart in July 2006. Her debut record, Alright, Still, was well received, selling over 2.6 million copies worldwide and brought Allen a nomination at the Grammy Awards, Brit Awards and MTV Video Music Awards. She began hosting her own talk-show, Lily Allen and Friends, on BBC Three.
Her second studio album, It's Not Me, It's You, saw a genre shift, having more of an electropop feel, rather than the ska and reggae influences of the first one. The album debuted at number one on the UK Albums Chart and the Australian ARIA Charts and was well received by critics, noting the singer's musical evolution and maturity. It spawned the hit singles "The Fear" and "Fuck You". This success saw her receive the Brit Award for British Female Solo Artist at the 2010 Brit Awards. Allen and Amy Winehouse were credited with starting a process that led to the "year of the women" media label in 2009 that saw five female artists making music of "experimentalism and fearlessness" nominated for the Mercury Prize.

The anti-lynching poem "Strange Fruit" was written by Abel Meeropol (1903 - 1986), a Jewish high-school teacher from the Bronx best known under his pseudonym Lewis Allan. He subsequently set the poem to music; it was famously performed by Billie Holiday. Meeropol wrote "Strange Fruit" to express his horror at lynchings after seeing a photograph of the lynching of Thomas Shipp and Abram Smith in Marion, Indiana. He published the poem in 1937 in The New York Teacher magazine. I was both shocked and impressed when I first read this haunting plea for civil rights a couple of months ago. However, since I did not like the Billy Holiday version of the song (no offence intended - it is just that I am not into all that jazz) I wrote my own (folk rock) version of the poem, took my BOSS BR 12...

A tribute - Soundtrack is a composite production of '1969 Live' and studio version of "Heroin". The film was made in 2008ev It was inspired by my love for this music, and also a cv plus recent work up until that time. In retrospect, I am healthier in every way. The one thing that will never change is my love for this song.

Während ihre Schwester ihr aus einem Buch vorliest, sieht die Titelheldin Alice ein sprechendes, weißes Kaninchen, das auf eine Uhr starrt und meint, es komme zu spät. Neugierig folgt Alice ihm in seinen Bau.
This guy just cracks me up and is currently my favorite comedian. Lewis in this segment talks about the overblown value of Facebook, smoking pot in college, living in Chapel Hill NC, and words and catch phrases that upset Republicans and conservatives. www.ifitrocks.com. www.lewisblack.com

This lecture by Dr. David Allen Lewis was probably given in *1977, 14 years prior to the publication in 1991 of his ground-breaking book UFO: End Time Delusion with Robert Shrekhise. The dating is relevant, as in this lecture Dr. Lewis shares a "prediction" he made in 1955, which was shown true by the date of this lecture, given about 22 years later. The date is also relevant as Dr. Lewis made 2 more "predictions" in this lecture in 1977, one of which has already been shown as coming to pass, by now in 2012, which is about 35 years later. The 3rd "prediction" herein has yet to come to pass, but there are increasingly many indications it someday likely will. Besides being an excellent introduction and overview to the topic of UFOs and alien abduction for Christians, this talk gives a po...
Dive down, dive down
Into the cool green water
Swim around, swim around
By the fish and otters
Louis Loon
Louis Loon
Flap your wings, flap your wings
You're picking up speed
Soon you'll spring, soon you'll spring
High above the trees
June the beaver
Below you'll leave her
Gnawing on sticks, gnawing on sticks
With another dam to fix
Louis Loon
She hears your song
Echoing over lakes and hills
Lonely and long
Sometimes it's high, sometimes with a trill
Wherever you are
You are admired from afar
But just around the bend
You can always call your friends, call your friends
Splash, splash, splash, splash
Come on in and land
In a flash, in a flash
You're under water again
Looking to see when you surface where you'll be
Won't you stay? Won't you stay?
Your friends want to play
Won't you stay? Won't you stay?
Your friends wanna play
Won't you stay? Won't you stay?
Your friends wanna play
Won't you stay? Won't you stay?
Your friends want to play
Won't you stay? Won't you stay?
Your friends wanna play
Won't you stay? Won't you stay?
