The Solomonic dynasty is the Imperial House of Abyssinia. Its members claim lineal descent from King Solomon and the Queen of Sheba, the latter of whom tradition asserts gave birth to the first King Menelik I after her Biblically described visit to Solomon in Jerusalem (1 Kings 10:1–10).

The last Emperor of Ethiopia, of the Solomonic Dynasty, Ras Tafari Makonnen was born in 1892. In 1930 he ascended the throne taking a reigning name which means "Power of the Trinity", "His Imperial Majesty Haile Selassie I, King of Kings, Lord of Lords, Conquering Lion of the Tribe of Judah, and Elect of God". Considered a progressive for his time and place he came to international fame for his futile opposition to the conquest of his country by Italy. In time, with the Allied victory, he was restored to his throne. He became something of a global celebrity, especially among Africans and African-descended populations but was overthrown in 1974 by Communist revolutionaries. The former Emperor died a year later in communist captivity.

About Ethiopia poem - ይቺ፡ ሐገር፡ የማንነት Originally called Abyssinia, Ethiopia is sub-Saharan Africa's oldest state, and its Solomonic dynasty descent from King Menelik I, traditionally believed to have been the son of the queen of Sheba and King Solomon. -
Haile Salassie
The last Emperor of Ethiopia, of the Solomonic Dynasty, Ras Tafari Makonnen was born in 1892. In 1930 he ascended the throne taking a reigning name which means "Power of the Trinity", "His Imperial Majesty Haile Selassie I, King of Kings, Lord of Lords, Conquering Lion of the Tribe of Judah, and Elect of God". Considered a progressive for his time and place he came to international fame for his futile opposition to the conquest of his country by Italy. In time, with the Allied victory, he was restored to his throne. He became something of a global celebrity, especially among Africans and African-descended populations but was overthrown in 1974 by Communist revolutionaries. The former Emperor died a year later in communist captivity. -
Ethiopian Imperial Family
The recent members of the Ethiopian Imperial Family. The Ethiopian Imperial Family is one of the most ancient in the world. Known as the House of Solomon or the Solomonic dynasty their tradition holds that their ancient kings and later emperors were the product of a liason between King Solomon of Israel and the Queen of Sheba. This legend accounts for the many Hebraic styles and symbols in the monuments of the old Ethiopian Empire. -

The last Emperor of Ethiopia, of the Solomonic Dynasty, Ras Tafari Makonnen was born in 1892. In 1930 he ascended the throne taking a reigning name which means "Power of the Trinity", "His Imperial Majesty Haile Selassie I, King of Kings, Lord of Lords, Conquering Lion of the Tribe of Judah, and Elect of God". Considered a progressive for his time and place he came to international fame for his futile opposition to the conquest of his country by Italy. In time, with the Allied victory, he was restored to his throne. He became something of a global celebrity, especially among Africans and African-descended populations but was overthrown in 1974 by Communist revolutionaries. The former Emperor died a year later in communist captivity.

Merhabete, River Jema ( ዠማ) and its Magnificent Landscape in Ethiopia. Merhabete (Merabete) is found in North Shoa (Amhara State) and River Jema flows many hundreds of Kilometers between Merhabete on the North and Menz, Tegulet, Moret and Jiru and Insaro on the South. Its catchment areas includ Woraillu (Wollo) and almost all parts of North Shoa. Jema is the biggest tributary of the Abay (Blue Nile). Some say that there isn't much difference in their water content. However Abay is considered to be the main River and Jema loses its name when they join together.
Merhabete is one of the oldest home of the Solomonic Dynasty in the central Highlands of Ethiopia. It is even older than Debre Birhan, Gonder and Ankober. When the Solomonic Dynasty evacuated the City of Axum because of the expansion of Islam which had affected its trade roots (570-639 AD) the empire was surrounded by instability and weakened. Realizing the situation Yodit Gudit ( the female Monster warrior) declared war against the Dynasty and the child King (Anbesa-Awudim). Anbesa-Awudim retreated to the central highlands and settled in Merhabete.
Making Merhabete his base King Anbesa-Awudim (member of the Solomonic Dynasty) counter attacked, and successfully defeated its opponent and Yodit the Monster was Killed in Merhabete. The Solomonic Dynasty went back to Axum again and Ruled Ethiopia and other near by areas for more than 40 years. But situations were not favorable for them in Axum as the dynasty was replaced by the Zagwe and so returned back to Merhabete and stayed until they regained their legitimate power from the Zagwe Dynasty peacefully. Then they moved to Debre Birhan, Gondar, Debre Birhan and Ankober respectively and finally settled in Addis Ababa.
The film was recorded in January 2015 and shows you the great extended valley of the Jema River. January (Tir) is a dry season In Ethiopia. If Solomon wasn't David's son, then the entire notion of the Davidic dynasty is out the window.
