The Emirati Blind Cave Fish (Garra barreimiae wurayahi Khalaf, 2009) which was discovered in 2009 by the Palestinian-German Zoologist Dr.Sc. Norman Ali Bassam Khalaf-von Jaffa from Wadi Al Wurayah pools, Emirate of Fujairah, United Arab Emirates is a distinct subspecies. The second Emirati subspecies is (Garra barreimiae shawkahensis Banister and Clarke, 1977) from Wadi Shawkah, Emirate of Ras Al Khaimah.
There are two Omani Blind Cave Fish subspecies (Garra barreimiae barreimiae Fowler and Steinitz, 1956) from Al Buraimi Oasis and (Garra barreimiae gallagheri Krupp, 1988) from Seeq and Wadi Bani Khalid north of Muqal.

إن سمكة الكهوف العمياء الإماراتية من أسماك المياه العذبة والتي تتبع عائلة الشبوطيات
تم اكتشاف نويع أو سُلالة جديدة من أسماك المياه العذبة في العام 2009 من برك وادي الوُريعة، التابعة لإمارة الفجيرة، وهي أول منطقة جبلية محمية في الإمارات العربية المتحدة. ولقد تم اكتشاف سمكة الكهوف العمياء الإماراتية أثناء رحلة علمية قام بها عالم الحيوان الفلسطيني الألماني د. نعمان (نورمان) علي خلف اليافاوي إلى جبال الحجر ووادي الوُريعة، حيث لاحظ وجود هذه الأسماك الصغيرة في البرك الجبلية. وقد تم إعطاء السمكة المُكتشفة الاسم العلمي الجديد " جارا بريمي وريعي"

Al Ain in the UAE is wonderfully located at the foot of Jebel Hafeet Mountain and shares a common border with Omani city Buraimi.
We escaped our bad weather for a few days, went kayaking at Wadi Adventure, took a day-trip to Oman and visited main attractions in Abu Dhabi.
Hopefully this short video will give you an idea about how we encountered immeasureable friendliness and an overwhelming wealthiness of culture and nature.

Al Ain in the UAE is wonderfully located at the foot of Jebel Hafeet Mountain and shares a common border with Omani city Buraimi. We escaped our bad weather for a few days, went kayaking at Wadi Adventure, took a day-trip to Oman and visited main attractions in Abu Dhabi. Hopefully this short video will give you an idea about how we encountered immeasureable friendliness and an overwhelming wealthiness of culture and nature. -
