Flank speed

Flank speed is a nautical term referring to a ship's true maximum speed but is not equivalent to the term full speed ahead. Usually, flank speed is reserved for situations in which a ship finds itself in imminent danger, such as coming under attack by aircraft. Flank speed is very fuel-inefficient and often unsustainable because of propulsion system limitations. The related term Emergency may not be any faster than flank, but indicates the ship should be brought up to maximum speed in the shortest possible time.

Other speeds include one-third, two-thirds, standard, and full. One-third and two-thirds are the respective fractions of standard speed. Full is greater than standard, but not as great as flank.

In surface ship nuclear marine propulsion, the differentiation between full speed and flank speed is of lesser significance, because vessels can be run at or very near their true maximum speed for a sustained duration with little regard for fuel expended, a top consideration of oil powered ships.

Gradius

The Gradius (グラディウス, Guradiusu, pronounced: Gray-dee-us) games, first introduced in 1985, make up a series of scrolling shooter video games published by Konami for a variety of portable, console and arcade platforms. The power meter, one of the Gradius series' defining characteristics, is enabled by power-up items. The items upgrade the selected ability in the power meter. The meter resets when the player chooses to activate the selected ability. Weapon edit lets players create their own power meter sequence.

Speed

In everyday use and in kinematics, the speed of an object is the magnitude of its velocity (the rate of change of its position); it is thus a scalar quantity. The average speed of an object in an interval of time is the distance travelled by the object divided by the duration of the interval; the instantaneous speed is the limit of the average speed as the duration of the time interval approaches zero.

Matter cannot quite reach the speed of light, as this would require an infinite amount of energy. In relativity physics, the concept of rapidity replaces the classical idea of speed.

Cleopatra Fortune

Cleopatra Fortune (クレオパトラフォーチュン), released in North America as Cleopatra's Fortune, is a 1996 arcade puzzle game created by Taito Corporation in association with Natsume.

Summary

The gameplay is similar to Tetris in which the player has to direct blocks of stone, mummy and/or treasure to create closures which eliminates the treasure and adds to the player's score. Also if a full line of stone blocks, treasure blocks or mummy blocks is formed they will disappear in a similar fashion to Tetris and also add to the player's score.

The game's name comes from its mascot which is a super deformed version of queen Cleopatra. Additionally, the game utilizes an Egyptian theme.

Initially having an arcade release, a Sony PlayStation version and a Sega Saturn version were released in Japan, followed later on by a Dreamcast version in 2001. A PlayStation version was released in the US in 2003, with the original arcade game being released in Taito Legends 2. An arcade only sequel called Cleopatra Fortune Plus was released later in 2001 on the Sega NAOMI system. It was created in association with Altron instead of Natsume.
