Having grown up in Los Angeles under the tutelage of his trombonist father Dick Nash, and saxophonist uncle and namesake Ted Nash, both first-call session instrumentalists, it may certainly have been a foregone conclusion that Ted Nash would see a career as a musician. His personal successes, however, are singularly distinctive and exemplary. La contaminazione fra un quintetto jazz e un quartetto d'archi non è una novità assoluta (vedi in Italia negli anni '60 il gruppo di Buddy Collette e il quartetto d'archi della Scala), ma l'effetto è quasi sempre piacevole.
