The WSP Aggressive Driving Apprehension Team (ADAT) program is a proactive effort to locate and cite those who drive aggressively. Per RCW 46.08.065, the Washington State Patrol is allowed to use unmarked vehicles for general undercover or confidential investigative purposes and traffic control under the discretion of the Chief. Equipped with mobile video cameras, troopers detect and apprehend those that choose to drive aggressively.
The preventable individual driving behaviors and decisions made by aggressive drivers can lead to loss of life and life-threatening injuries. Our goal is to change these behaviors and outcomes through enforcement, education, and assistance.

Police have released video that shows the high-speed pursuit of three homicide suspects wanted by police. According to police, Ravell Sterling was shot and killed on Feb. 5 in Gresham by Charles Moi Moi and Clayton Harrell III. Both men are charged with aggravated murder. Rony Celis, the accused driver of the getaway vehicle, is charged with murder.
The pursuit started in Portland after Sgt. Jason Lile saw a Cadillac Deville that was gold in color and that had Washington license plates. The vehicle was traveling northbound on I-205 and had come from I-84. Witnesses at the shooting scene described the suspects’ getaway vehicle as a gold or brown colored Cadillac.
The pursuit continued on I-205 northbound and into Washington onto I-5. The speeds reached 110 miles per hour, according to court documents.
In Cowlitz County, near exit 32, the Washington State Patrol used a “PIT” maneuver to spin the vehicle out. Police conducted a high-risk, felony traffic stop and took all three men into custody without incident. No shots were fired during the traffic stop. There were no injures to any of the law enforcement officers or the three suspects.

Sorry for the shaky video. 5/16/2015 While going to my friends house i stumbled apron a traffic stop by the WSP. I noticed the unit was unmarked. i questioned the officer, and his ride along. He confirmed that the car was unmarked. The driver had a suspended lic. in the 3degree was cited and had to park their car. We have signs they say Suspended Lic. = Tow. I wonder why they didnt tow them. Maybe the Camera? idk. ~TCB

Trooper Cadets go through an extensive week of DUI training before the final test - a "wet lab". Community volunteers are given controlled amounts of alcohol, and cadets then put these individuals through Standardized Field Sobriety Tests (SFSTs). Volunteers have their blood alcohol levels tested throughout the event, and these results are recorded for accuracy. Afterwards, they're fed sandwiches, fruit, cookies and plenty of water.

Washington State Patrol
The Washington State Patrol (WSP) is the state police agency for the U.S. state of Washington. The first six motorcycle patrolmen of the (then) Highway Patrol were commissioned September 1, 1921. The agency was renamed to Washington State Patrol in June 1933. In 1925 William Cole was appointed as the first Chief. The current chief is John R. Batiste. Ronal W. Serpas served as Chief from August, 2001 to January, 2004.
The Washington State Patrol has law enforcement authority throughout the State of Washington, with caveats for Federal property, and limited authority on Indian reservations. WSP is one of two state law enforcement agencies considered to be a general authority law enforcement agency, the other being the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife. Individual officers of the Washington State Patrol are known as "Troopers" although they are infrequently colloquially referred to as "Staters". Troopers in western Washington are most frequently encountered by citizens on the state highways. However, in the eastern portion of the state and in rural areas, Troopers work both state and county roadways, frequently assisting other agencies, as well as responding to general crimes in progress (such as calls for domestic violence).

Sorry for the shaky video. 5/16/2015 While going to my friends house i stumbled apron a traffic stop by the WSP. I noticed the unit was unmarked. i questioned the officer, and his ride along. He confirmed that the car was unmarked. The driver had a suspended lic. in the 3degree was cited and had to park their car. We have signs they say Suspended Lic. = Tow. I wonder why they didnt tow them. Maybe the Camera? idk. ~TCB

Hot, with temperature in the 90's and clear skies, perfect road trip. For anyone looking for a memorable road trip, this is highly recommended. The roads are excellent and Washington State has many cost advantages to it's northern neighbor. Fuel, accommodations and food cost less (just see how many Canadians go cross border shopping) and there are a lot of parks along the way to enjoy the outdoors. A Chicagoland couple Jaime Garcia and Daryl Rizzo and their daughter attended the event which brought more than 30,000 people from across the nation. In a statement from Equality IL Rizzo expressed the family’s excitement and stated, just as important is the opportunity to represent a new tradition for the American family, a loving same-sex household with an adored adopted child."
Illinois Largest LGBT advocacy organization has announced a partnership with the producer of gay and lesbian guides the NaviGayTour to produce a Marriage Equality and Business Directory in the Chicago. The Navigaytour publishes regional guides for gay and lesbian travel, home and lifestyle and this new guide will offer community members a useful resource guide to their rights and about the companies offering supporting services. Chicagoland couples looking to be wed can expect the guide in june.
A study performed in the US and in Germany has concluded that homophobia occurs most in individuals with an unacknowledged attraction to the same sex and who grew up with authoritarian parents who forbade such desires. The study which was published in the april edition of the Journal of Personality and Social Psychology, was conducted by a team from the University of Rochester, the University of Essex, England, and the University of California in Santa Barbra. Through a series of experiments to test implicit - or unconscious - same-sex attraction. The researchers found participants who said they were heterosexual but revealed different reactions on their implicit tests were more likely to act with hostility toward gay people.
President Barack Obama's Minnesota campaign announced Monday that Obama opposes a state ballot initiative that would define marriage as between one man and one woman. Same-sex marriage is already banned by a statute in Minnesota and This November Minnesotans will go to the ballot to vote on whether to write the state’s existing ban on same-sex marriage into the constitution. In a statement by Kristen Sosanie, spokeswoman for Obama's Minnesota campaign, she said "While the President does not weigh in on every single ballot measure in every state, the record is clear that the President has long opposed divisive and discriminatory efforts to deny rights and benefits to same sex couples," Despite his statements in opposition to the constitutional amendments, the president has said that his views continue to "evolve" on gay marriage.
Two weeks ago we reported on Jenna Talackova, the Miss Universe Canada pageant contender who was disqualified when it was discovered that she was transgender. After sparking international recognition and a change.org petition receiving over 40,000 signatures of support. The Miss Universe organization has stricken down its rule requiring a contestant to be a "naturally born woman." Though she specifically was allowed back in on April 2, Talackova held out for a larger rule change, arguing that in the future no other transgender woman should have to face what she did. Pageant officials said they are working on the language of the official rule policy change but expected final word to come soon.

The most notable are the new Mass effect three and Mass Multi player Star Wars the old republic, which will be given sub-plots featuring gay characters. EA's Vice President of Corporate Communications Jeff Brown slammed criticism of the same-sex content denying accusations that EA's creative teams had been pressured into incorporating the LGBT content. He said quote, “In short ,we do put options for same-sex relationships in our games; we don't tolerate hate speech on our forums."
The Lollapalooza line up was announced this week naming Red Hot Chili Peppers, the Black Keys, Jack White and Florence and the Machine as the headliners. Some other notable bands include the shins, M83 and Icelandic sensation Sigur ros. Late Night Library is excited to announce the first annual Virgin Awards—a contest reserved for those who have yet to publish their first full-length book or collection. Nine prizes will be awarded in the genres of creative nonfiction, fiction, and poetry. Submit 5,000 words of prose or five pages of poetry with a $10 entry fee by November 30th!

A long-time communications professional focused on editorial, arts, and social justice movement building, she is a founding organizer of Fire & Ink, an advocacy organization and writer's festival for LGBT writers of African descent and a recipient of the 2011 Aquarius Press Legacy Award, given annually in recognition of women writers of color who actively provide creative opportunities for other writers. She currently lives in Portland, Oregon, where she teaches creative writing at Reed College. Her debut collection of poetry, Where the Apple Falls, was published by RedBone Press in 2005.
James Bernard Frost is the author of the novel World Leader Pretend, and the award-winning travel guide The Artichoke Trail. His fiction and non-fiction has been published in many places, including the San Francisco Examiner, the San Francisco Bay Guardian, and Wired. He lives in Portland, Oregon with the author Kerry Cohen, their four children, the rain, the freaks, and the trees. His bike is currently in disrepair. His debut travel guide, The Artichoke Trail, was published in 2000 by Hunter Publishing.

Morton A. Klein is National President of the Zionist Organization of America (ZOA), the oldest pro-Israel group in the U.S., founded in 1897. He is a member of the National Council of AIPAC. Mr. Klein is widely regarded as one of the leading Jewish activists in the United States. He is a child of Holocaust survivors, born in a displaced persons camp in Gunzberg, Germany.

This travel video explains how Turkey’s mountainous terrain is perfect for rafting. As well as being a thrilling action sport, rafting in Turkey is an excellent way to see different aspects of the country that most visitors do not get to see. With necessary instructions from a professional guide as can be seen in the video, the sport doesn’t require previous experience. The country’s many rivers provide good flat waters in all seasons making it a popular destination for white water enthusiasts from France, Great Britain, Israel, New Zealand, Russia, Sweden and the USA.
The Melen River, not far from Istanbul, has flat water during the winter and has a high demand from visitors. In other parts of the country like Koprucay, Dalaman and Coruh rivers have abundant water during spring and the summer.
On other rivers, the rafting is a fine ride into the water. Rafting in rivers is classified in 6 categories according to difficulty and danger. Class 1 is considered to be the easiest with small currant with small rapids and no obstructions. Class 6, however, is maximum difficulty, the river is unpredictable and it creates significant danger to life. Turkey’s rivers cover all 6 classes. The easiest rivers can be listed as Koprucay, Dalaman and Kizilirmak which are in Class 1 and is perfect for beginner rafters in all ages and those who would like to raft without a guide. Dalaman and Zamanti rivers have Class 2 and 3. Firat and Coruh which are located in the mountainous eastern Turkey are in higher, more excitement classes of 4 and 6.
The length, the depth and the regime of the rivers in Turkey are so convenient for rafting that Turkey has been listed amongst the best rafting countries in the world.
HANDMADE: MODEL BOATS
In this short, but delightful documentary the Turkish-American hour presents the making of model boats through special arrangements with Turkish Radio Television. Ayhan Demir who is a craftsman from Sinop, shows us the elegant techniques of making model boats. He was influenced by his mentor; craftsman Dervis, who was a fisherman but started making model boats after he became a prisoner and who set sail towards his freedom with his wonderfully crafted boats. Craftsman Dervis carved everything that would help him reach the sea from sailing vessels to small sailing boats to cutters.
Craftsman Ayhan became craftsman Dervis’s student after he saw his mentor’s works all of which were fulfilled with his fantasies. After finishing his art school where he learned the language of trees, the details and the smell of the wood, he started working in his workshop. His model boats were so explicit that he started exporting them all over the world from Black Sea to America, Venice and Genoese.
Walnut, horn beech and poplar trees are used in model making of boats to produce them in sizes changing from 6 to 30 centimeters. Elegant model boats are sailing with nostalgia and keeping craftsman Dervis’s dreams alive as they continue their journeys.
CLASSICAL MUSIC CONCERT BY OSMAN KIVRAK AND TERI LAZAR
Highly acclaimed Turkish violist Osman Kivrak and his wife violinist Teri Lazar perform two songs in this mini concert. The first piece Uzun Hava is composed by Osman Kivrak for his wife and the second piece is Daldalan which is an adaptation of a Turkish Folk song by Osman Kivrak.
Teri Lazar has performed as a soloist and chamber musician in the United States, Europe and the Middle East. She performs with the Sunrise Quartet, the Richmond Chamber Players and Currents. She also has recorded chamber music for the Albany, Klavier, North/South Recordings, Living Music, Plucked String and Centaur labels. She currently works as the faculty member of the American University where she teaches violin and is Artist in Residence. She has won several important music awards including National Association of Music Clubs Competition, the Alexandria Symphony Soloists Competition.
Osman Kivrak is a violist and composer, was a winner of the National Scholarship Competition in Turkey, the Baltimore Chamber Music Awards, the Maryland State Arts Council Individual Artist Awards, the Culver (California) Chamber Music Competition and of three Maryland National Parks and Planning Commission Awards. He performs with the Sunrise Quartet, the Richmond Chamber Players and with Currents. He is also Artistic Director of Concerts at the Beach in Delaware and of the Davies Concert Series. He has recorded chamber music for the Klavier, Amerimusic, Arizona University Recordings and Living Music labels. He has also performed at the Spoleto Festival in the USA and Italy and he has toured Europe a number of times as a chamber music player. His works have been performed in Washington DC at the Kennedy Center, the Corcoran Gallery of Art and the Library of Congress and throughout the United States and in Turkey. Formerly a professor at the Izmir State Conservatory in Turkey, Dr. Kivrak currently teach

The WSP Aggressive Driving Apprehension Team (ADAT) program is a proactive effort to locate and cite those who drive aggressively. Per RCW 46.08.065, the Washington State Patrol is allowed to use unmarked vehicles for general undercover or confidential investigative purposes and traffic control under the discretion of the Chief. Equipped with mobile video cameras, troopers detect and apprehend those that choose to drive aggressively. The preventable individual driving behaviors and decisions made by aggressive drivers can lead to loss of life and life-threatening injuries. Our goal is to change these behaviors and outcomes through enforcement, education, and assistance.

WSP Traffic Stop. UNMARKED UNIT washington state patrol. Pierce Co.
Sorry for the shaky video. 5/16/2015 While going to my friends house i stumbled apron a traffic stop by the WSP. I noticed the unit was unmarked. i questioned the officer, and his ride along. He confirmed that the car was unmarked. The driver had a suspended lic. in the 3degree was cited and had to park their car. We have signs they say Suspended Lic. = Tow. Per RCW 46.08.065, the Washington State Patrol is allowed to use unmarked vehicles for general undercover or confidential investigative purposes and traffic control under the discretion of the Chief. Police have released video that shows the high-speed pursuit of three homicide suspects wanted by police. According to police, Ravell Sterling was shot and killed on Feb. 5 in Gresham by Charles Moi Moi and Clayton Harrell III. Both men are charged with aggravated murder. Rony Celis, the accused driver of the getaway vehicle, is charged with murder.
The pursuit started in Portland after Sgt. Jason Lile saw a Cadillac Deville that was gold in color and that had Washington license plates. The vehicle was traveling northbound on I-205 and had come from I-84. Witnesses at the shooting scene described the suspects’ getaway vehicle as a gold or brown colored Cadillac.
The pursuit continued on I-205 northbound and into Washington onto I-5. The speeds reached 110 miles per hour, according to court documents.
In Cowlitz County, near exit 32, the Washington State Patrol used a “PIT” maneuver to spin the vehicle out. Police conducted a high-risk, felony traffic stop and took all three men into custody without incident. No shots were fired during the traffic stop. There were no injures to any of the law enforcement officers or the three suspects.

He confirmed that the car was unmarked. The driver had a suspended lic. in the 3degree was cited and had to park their car. We have signs they say Suspended Lic. = Tow. Long Vehicle Procession of fallen Washington State Patrol Trooper Sean O'Connell
(06/06/2013) Note: On 1:52 of clip, there was a glitch on the fade transition effect on the video. It's all due to the video editor rendering and beyond my control. My apology for that minor glitch; the rest of the video will run just fine. Law Enforcement Agencies throughout the Pacific Northwest gathered together in very long procession from Smokey Point Rest Area to Comcast Arena in Downtown Everett, WA. Washington State Patrol Trooper Sean O'Connell died on the line of duty when his motorcycle was struck by a box truck while helping out on traffic control on part of the Skagit River detour route. There was a decent number of Fire Department that participated as well. There was a really good reason why my video is really, really long for a procession.

Law Enforcement Agencies throughout the Pacific Northwest gathered together in very long procession from Smokey Point Rest Area to Comcast Arena in Downtown Everett, WA. Washington State Patrol Trooper Sean O'Connell died on the line of duty when his motorcycle was struck by a box truck while helping out on traffic control on part of the Skagit River detour route. There was a decent number of Fire Department that participated as well. There was a really good reason why my video is really, really long for a procession.
