Sir Nicholas George Winton, MBE, (born 19 May 1909) is a British humanitarian who organized the rescue of 669 mostly Jewish children from German-occupied Czechoslovakia on the eve of the Second World War in an operation later known as the Czech Kindertransport. Winton found homes for them and arranged for their safe passage to Britain. The UK press has dubbed him the "British Schindler". he humbly kept his efforts a secret, until his wife found scrapbooks about the children in their attic. Winton was Knighted by the Queen of England, who said of Winton: "It's wonderful that you were able to save so many children."

Diváci zhlédávali asi hodinu a půl dlouhé představení, které bylo pro vysílání v televizi zkráceno přibližně na 45 minut.
Jednalo se o talk show obvykle se třemi hosty. První dva hosté byli zpravidla veřejně známé osobnosti. Třetí host byl většinou zajímavý či něčím výjimečný člověk z řad široké veřejnosti.
18. září 2009 bylo odvysíláno dvousté pokračování pořadu.
Jan Kraus ohlásil konec svého pořadu na konci května roku 2010 kvůli sporům s Českou televizí.
Poslední díl se vysílal 25. června 2010. Hlavním hostem byl tehdejší předseda vlády Jan Fischer.
Jan Kraus poté začal nový pořad Show Jana Krause na Primě.

Rich in history, Winton was originally known as Pelican Waterhole and was first settled in 1875. The Outback town is best known as the place that AB (Banjo) Paterson wrote Waltzing Matilda in 1895, while staying at Dagworth Station outside Winton. The first performance of the ballad was reported to be at Winton's North Gregory Hotel on 6 April of the same year. Winton is recognised as the 'home' of Australian bush poetry, hosting the annual Bronze Swagman Award, one of the country's most prestigious literary awards.
Winton is in the centre of Matilda Country, a diverse region in which vast Mitchell Grass plains are broken by magnificent coloured gorges, ridges and jump-ups. Visitors to the region will be amazed by the vastness of the plains and the undulating nature of the landscape. There is a wide variety of animal and bird life in the area, generally best seen around dusk and dawn on minor roads and tracks.

Sir Nicholas George Winton, MBE, (born 19 May 1909) is a British humanitarian who organized the rescue of 669 mostly Jewish children from German-occupied Czechoslovakia on the eve of the Second World War in an operation later known as the Czech Kindertransport. Winton found homes for them and arranged for their safe passage to Britain. The UK press has dubbed him the "British Schindler". he humbly kept his efforts a secret, until his wife found scrapbooks about the children in their attic. Winton was Knighted by the Queen of England, who said of Winton: "It's wonderful that you were able to save so many children."

18. září 2009 bylo odvysíláno dvousté pokračování pořadu.
Jan Kraus ohlásil konec svého pořadu na konci května roku 2010 kvůli sporům s Českou televizí.
Poslední díl se vysílal 25. června 2010. Hlavním hostem byl tehdejší předseda vlády Jan Fischer.
Jan Kraus poté začal nový pořad Show Jana Krause na Primě.

The Outback town is best known as the place that AB (Banjo) Paterson wrote Waltzing Matilda in 1895, while staying at Dagworth Station outside Winton. The first performance of the ballad was reported to be at Winton's North Gregory Hotel on 6 April of the same year. Winton is recognised as the 'home' of Australian bush poetry, hosting the annual Bronze Swagman Award, one of the country's most prestigious literary awards.
Winton is in the centre of Matilda Country, a diverse region in which vast Mitchell Grass plains are broken by magnificent coloured gorges, ridges and jump-ups. Visitors to the region will be amazed by the vastness of the plains and the undulating nature of the landscape. There is a wide variety of animal and bird life in the area, generally best seen around dusk and dawn on minor roads and tracks.
