At its 1st Public Meeting, the Joint Select Committee on Social Services and Public Administration will host an inquiry into the current level of violence and deviant behavior among students in schools. Discussions during this hearing will focus on the following three (3) inquiry objectives: ~ Objective 1 is to determine the extent to which violence is pervasive among students in primary and secondary schools in Trinidad and Tobago. ~ Objective 2 is to understand the line Ministry’s plans and strategies for addressing school violence, in particular bullying in schools. ~ Objective 3 is to determine the effectiveness of multi-sectoral efforts and rehabilitation services targeted towards students who have displayed a tendency to be violent or engage in acts of violence.
