Mini Thunderbolt Siren 120 Volt Blower Test
Trying a 120 volt air mattress blower from an intex air mattress with built in blower. The mattress started leaking so I removed the blower and ta-da new mini thunderbolt blower. At least the siren is holding pitch better for this video. I pulled the chopper and relocated it on the motor shaft and it seems to run better now. I'm running it with a 12 volt power supply and then manually turning on the blower.

Thunderbolt Siren Test Elkhart, IN 10-1-11
UPDATE 7-28-12 This Thunderbolt has been replaced with a T-128 :( Well i wasnt expecting this. This former 1000 has been fixed, but wasnt expecting the chopper to be replaced for the 3rd time and the chopper level bumped down to 4. I first heard this siren back in 05 during a nighttime malfunction and it sounded like my West Lafayette HS thunderbolt video. Then in 2008, discovered it was a 1000. At the end, you can hear the Middlebury thunderbolt winding down. So once again, Elkhart has all 1000T's and 3 T-128's.

Federal Signal Thunderbolt 1003B Air Raid Siren (activated from my living room!)
Hi everyone! I coupled my electric leaf blower with one of my Thunderbolts to hear it a bit louder than it would be without the blower. Yes, I know a 10-hp triple-belt-driven Roots supercharger kills the Toro in every aspect, but it was still fun! I activated it from the comfort of my couch, in my living room upstairs. Enjoy!

Federal Signal Thunderbolt Siren Test Alert and Attack
This is a test run of a FS Thunderbolt, not exactly sure what type it is but it sounds different than any other one I have come across so far. Its being tested on the first Wed's of the month on Alert and then Attack. Hope you guys enjoy!!!! :) This is part of a network of 248 sirens in the Jefferson County EMA's advanced outdoor warning siren system in Central Alabama. Tested on the first Wed's of the month. Sounds in Alert and then Attack. Alert is used for Tornado's. Jefferson County has one of the most advanced outdoor warning systems in the US, and are the first to move to a polygon type warning system which they are now implementing, in the event of a tornado warning, sirens under the new system will only activate within the projected Polygon by the NWS to reduce false alarms for people unaffected.

Cobb County Siren #30 - Federal Thunderbolt 1000T
This was the monthly countywide outdoor warning siren test in Cobb County, GA, for the month of November. This siren, a Federal Signal Thunderbolt 1000AT, is located at Marietta Fire Station #6 on Allgood Road in Marietta, and does a 3-minute alert signal alongside the rest of the 74 sirens in the county. Siren is running on a 240V polyphase service (Y-setup), and has its chopper set to terminal 6 in the RCM, rotating at 2RPM. Also joining me for the test was Jeb (Blue10AEMia), Travis T. (DL1011), and Melissa ("melly"), with Jeb also recording a video of the siren.

Defiance Ohio's New FS 508 Tornado Sirens
Found out that Defiance OH was replacing their refurbed thunderbolts (they only had them for 7 years) thought id go out and make a short video of them (yeah not really the best). Of course no siren test, but I will go to Richland Twp FD thunderbolt in september for the final monthly test (which has the Model 5) and hopefully all 3 will sound :D Sirens are as follows: 1: Defiance HS (the one i recently revideo'd) 2: downtown at the PD 3: Defiance College campus 4: Richland Twp FD 5: Anthony Wayne elementary (the one that had trouble kicking on)

Cobb County Siren #31 - Federal Thunderbolt 1000T
County-wide test of the outdoor warning sirens in Cobb County, for the month of October. This siren, a 1950s dual tone Federal Signal Thunderbolt 1000AT (Series A1), is located at the American Legion post in Marietta, off of Gresham Road. As seen in the video, only the siren's chopper activated for the test; the blower and rotator remained stationary throughout the test. The likely cause is due to a bad time delay relay in the siren's RCM1 control cabinet, causing the other two motor starters to not pull in once the circuit for the chopper starter is closed. You can hear several Whelen sirens in the background, as well as a faint Thunderbolt 1000T from about a mile to the north. Sirens heard include: -[#31]Thunderbolt 1000T at Marietta FD #6 (N) -[#32]Whelen WPS-2810 (440Hz) in downtown Marietta (W) -[#53]Whelen WPS-2904 (560Hz) at SPSU (S) -[#02]Whelen Vortex R4 (440Hz) at Cobb FD #2 (WSW) -[#42]Whelen Vortex R4 (560Hz) at Marietta FD #4 (SW) -[#29]Whelen Vortex R4 (560Hz) at Marietta FD #5 (SE) -[#64]Whelen Vortex R4 (465Hz) at East Cobb Middle School (E) The sirens sound for a 3-5 minute alert signal every first Wednesday of the month at noon (weather permitting).
