Two days before he will officially relinquish his post, President Ma Ying-Jeou this morning released a self-parody video on Facebook in which he light-heartedly addressed the criticisms of him and his administration put forward by netizens. Before leaving office, President Ma used wit and humor to respond to his critics. In this clip, Ma appeared with deer antlers, a self-deprecating reference to his laughable assertion that the Chinese word for “deer antlers” refers instead to the hairs inside of a deer’s ears.He mockingly apologized for his error by using an elementary school notebook to write out the correct definition of the word three times. In another scene, Ma addressed a netizen’s question about how he maintains his death grip.Yao Wen-chihDPP Legislator In the past, his handling of matters led many people to feel that he was quite narcissistic so we can say that this self-reflection shows he’s made some progress.At the end of the video, President Ma took one last swipe at viewers as he appeared bracketed by two Chinese characters meaning "interesting," though he changed the phonetic symbols to read "hurt", hinting that he might have taken offense over rude internet comments.

On June 2, 2015, the Taiwan Democracy Project at Stanford's Center on Democracy, Development and the Rule of Law (CDDRL) hosted a special panel session featuring the President of the Republic of China (Taiwan), Ma Ying-jeou. President Ma spoke via live video feed to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the end of World War II and the long history of the U.S.-R.O.C. relationship. Following his prepared remarks, the president engaged in a question-and-answer session with the audience and a distinguished panel of leading Stanford faculty and fellows, chaired and moderated by the former Secretary of Defense of the United States, William J. Perry.

About the Speaker
Ma Ying-jeou has served as the President of the Republic of China (Taiwan) since May 2008. As president, Ma Ying-jeou has worked to address the repercussions of the global financial crisis, stepping up efforts to bring about a more diversified industrial structure and to jump-start new engines for economic growth in Taiwan. President Ma has also attached great importance to promoting energy conservation and carbon reduction, which has helped Taiwan’s energy efficiency to exceed two percent. In addition, his administration worked to craft a response to regional economic integration, successfully negotiating the landmark Economic Cooperation Framework Agreement (ECFA) with the People's Republic of China in 2010. President Ma's creative diplomacy has brought a significant improvement in cross-Strait relations while putting an end to a long and vituperative standoff between the two sides in the diplomatic sphere.

Perry is the Michael and Barbara Berberian Professor (emeritus) and a senior fellow at the Freeman Spogli Institute and the Hoover Institution, and serves as the director of the Preventive Defense Project at Stanford University. He was the Secretary of Defense for the United States from 1994-1997.

A 16-year-old girl from Taiwan who is working hard in the Korean entertainment industry, because she was holding a Taiwanese flag and did not do anything wrong, was forced to apologize. Ma Ying-jeou
Ma Ying-jeou (Chinese: 馬英九; pinyin: Mǎ Yīngjiǔ, [mà jə́ŋtɕjù]; born 13 July 1950) is a Taiwanese politician who is the current President of the Republic of China (ROC). His previous political roles include Justice Minister (1993–96) and Mayor of Taipei (1998–2006). He was also the Chairman of the Kuomintang (KMT) between 2005–2007 and 2009–2014. Ma first won the presidency by 58.45% of the popular vote in the presidential election of 2008, and was re-elected in 2012 with 51.6% of the vote. He was sworn into office as president on 20 May 2008, and sworn in as the Chairman of the Kuomintang on 17 October 2009; he resigned as Chairman of Kuomintang on the 3rd December 2014.
Early and family life
Ma and his parents originate from Hunan Province of the Republic of China, with Hakka ancestry (his paternal line), descended from the Han Dynasty General Ma Yuan and Three Kingdoms era General Ma Chao. He was born in Kwong Wah Hospital in Kowloon, Hong Kong on 13 July 1950. Ma was born in Hong Kong, during the process of his parents' escaping from Hunan Province (Mainland China) to Taiwan after the Chinese civil war. In a family of five children, Ma was the only son.

About the Speaker
Ma Ying-jeou has served as the President of the Republic of China (Taiwan) since May 2008. As president, Ma Ying-jeou has worked to address the repercussions of the global financial crisis, stepping up efforts to bring about a more diversified industrial structure and to jump-start new engines for economic growth in Taiwan. President Ma has also attached great importance to promoting energy conservation and carbon reduction, which has helped Taiwan’s energy efficiency to exceed two percent. In addition, his administration worked to craft a response to regional economic integration, successfully negotiating the landmark Economic Cooperation Framework Agreement (ECFA) with the People's Republic of China in 2010. President Ma's creative diplomacy has brought a significant improvement in cross-Strait relations while putting an end to a long and vituperative standoff between the two sides in the diplomatic sphere.

He was the Secretary of Defense for the United States from 1994-1997.
Lanhee J. Chen is the David and Diane Steffy Research Fellow at the Hoover Institution, as well as Lecturer in Public Policy and Law at Stanford University. He served as the chief policy adviser to 2012 U.S. presidential candidate Mitt Romney.

About the Speaker
Ma Ying-jeou has served as the President of the Republic of China (Taiwan) since May 2008. As president, Ma Ying-jeou has worked to address the repercussions of the global financial crisis, stepping up efforts to bring about a more diversified industrial structure and to jump-start new engines for economic growth in Taiwan. President Ma has also attached great importance to promoting energy conservation and carbon reduction, which has helped Taiwan’s energy efficiency to exceed two percent. In addition, his administration worked to craft a response to regional economic integration, successfully negotiating the landmark Economic Cooperation Framework Agreement (ECFA) with the People's Republic of China in 2010. President Ma's creative diplomacy has brought a significant improvement in cross-Strait relations while putting an end to a long and vituperative standoff between the two sides in the diplomatic sphere.

Perry is the Michael and Barbara Berberian Professor (emeritus) and a senior fellow at the Freeman Spogli Institute and the Hoover Institution, and serves as the director of the Preventive Defense Project at Stanford University. He was the Secretary of Defense for the United States from 1994-1997.
Lanhee J. Chen is the David and Diane Steffy Research Fellow at the Hoover Institution, as well as Lecturer in Public Policy and Law at Stanford University. He served as the chief policy adviser to 2012 U.S. presidential candidate Mitt Romney.
Karl Eikenberry is the William J. Perry Fellow in International Security at the Center for International Security and Cooperation at Stanford University. He served as the U.S. Ambassador to Afghanistan and is a Lieutenant General, Retired, U.S. Army.
Thomas Fingar is the Oksenberg-Rohlen Distinguished Fellow in the Freeman Spogli Institute for International Studies at Stanford University. He served as the first deputy director of national intelligence for analysis and as chairman of the National Intelligence Council from 2005-2008.

A Southwest Airline employee working at Will Rogers Airport in Oklahoma City, Okla. Tuesday has been shot and killed, Oklahoma City police told KOKI-TV, multiple media reports said.Michael Winchester was taken to a local hospital shortly before 12.50 p.m. local time, KFOR reported.Police have confirmed the airport is closed while authorities investigate, the report said, and there is no suspect in custody as a search continues....
