Jonathan E. Silverman (born August 5, 1966) is an American actor. He is perhaps best known for his role in Weekend at Bernie's and its sequel Weekend at Bernie's II.
Silverman was born in Los Angeles, California, the son of Devora (née Halaban) and Hillel Emanuel Silverman, a rabbi. He is the grandson of famous Conservative Rabbi Morris Silverman. He has no relation to comedian Sarah Silverman. David Schwimmer was his best friend in high school. He is married to actress Jennifer Finnigan, whom he met when he briefly co starred on the series The Bold and the Beautiful.
Silverman is known for his roles in the TV series Gimme A Break!, as well as in the films Brighton Beach Memoirs (a film version of the first play of Neil Simon's Eugene Trilogy), Girls Just Want to Have Fun, Caddyshack II, Little Big League, and Weekend at Bernie's and
Silverman played the title role in the mid-1990s television sitcom The Single Guy (which aired on NBC), as well as the lead role in the early 1990s movie Little Sister. He has also appeared on CSI: Miami (in a 3rd season episode called "Under the Influence"). He appeared briefly on The Bold and the Beautiful in the early 2000s. He last starred in the short-lived sitcom In Case of Emergency, which was a mid-season replacement on ABC for the 2006 season. He also played the role as Eddie in Beethoven's Big Break. In February 2009 he guest-starred in Psych. He was also in the movie Jam.
