According to Jim is an American sitcom television series starring Jim Belushi in the title role as a suburban father of three children. It originally ran on ABC from October 3, 2001 to June 2, 2009.
Jim is an abrasive but lovable suburban father. Much like his real life counterpart, Jim's character is noted as a fan of blues music, as well as the Chicago Bears, Chicago Cubs, Chicago Bulls and the Chicago Blackhawks. Together with his wife Cheryl, whose middle name is Mabel, they have three children, daughters Ruby and Gracie and son Kyle. In the seventh season they become parents of a pair of twins Jonathan and Gordon.
Jim often finds himself in messy situations because his laziness inclines him to search for alternative ways of doing things with least effort. While Cheryl's brother Andy may be Jim's best friend, her sister Dana frequently teams up with Cheryl against Jim. He also prefers to lie to Cheryl and Dana to do his own activities but they end up backfiring on him. He hates losing to women (e.g. Hot Dog Eating Contests, Hamburger Eating Contests, Pizza Eating Contests, Pot Pie Eating Contests), especially if Cheryl or Dana find out. He doesn't like people interrupting him when he talks, so he speaks over them to shut them up. Jim often makes an example of Andy, who doesn't have a girlfriend.

Plot: Adaptation of the Broadway musical. Magnolia Hawks is the lovely but protected, and thus very naive, daughter of Cap'n Andy Hawks, the genial proprietor of a show boat that cruises the Missisippi, and his nagging wife, Parthy. She is best friends with the show boat's star, Julie LaVerne, but Julie and her husband Steve are forced to leave when it is revealed that Julie has "Negro" blood in her, thereby breaking the state law by being married to the white Steve. Magnolia replaces Julie as the show boat's female star, and the show's new male star is the suave gambler Gaylord Ravenal. "Nola" and Gaylord fall in love and marry against Parthy's wishes. They and their young daughter lead the high life when Gaylord is lucky in gambling, but live like dirt when he's unlucky. During one such unlucky streak, a broken Gaylord leaves Nola, and she is forced to start over by returning to the stage. Like Old Man River, as the famous song from this show goes, she just keeps rollin' along.

Tom goes to the Hampton ranch where Ned claims he shot in self-defense, and then wounds Tom as he escapes. Molly treats the wound and also hides him from the cattlemen, including her father (Charles K. French), who are incensed as they think Tom has taken the side of the sheepmen against them. Tom is forced to take refuge at the sheep camp. Molly rides in and warns Tom that the cattlemen are planning a cattle drive across the sheep lands. Jim Green (Lafe McKee), leader of the sheepmen is determined that the cattle will not cross their land, and holds Molly as a hostage. Tom captures Ned and is taking him back to town when Ned makes a break for the Hampton men on the cattle drive.
