In this episode, Grant Cardone talks about how there is no money in the middle. He sites an article “The Middle Class is Steadily Eroding” which includes a Price Waterhouse Coopers study and examples of retail stores who are failing because they target middle and lower income customers as opposed to the higher end retailers who offer exceptional service to a higher end clientele with money to spend. Grant equates the mythology of the middle class to that of Hercules and urges people to watch what the wealthier people do and mimic it. According to Grant people must think about where the money is and follow it. There is a reason $3500 washer and dryers are selling yet $500 ones remain in the stores. People with money have money to spend. Grant offers these key tips:
1. You need profit margins.
2. Do not strive to be the cheapest and lowest.
3. Provide great service to a high-end clientele.
Grant takes callers and discusses how middle class values keep people stuck. He mentions how stores like JC Penney’s and Sears are struggling yet Nordstrom is doing great. The high end is thriving and they are the ones spending. Grant explains over 65% of Americans are living paycheck to paycheck.

A new study by the Pew Research Center spurred a rash of headlines last week about “the dying middle class.” But the word “dying” might be more appropriate if we were watching the regrettable but inevitable effects of natural forces at work. We’re not. We’re seeing the fruits of deliberate action — and sometimes of deliberate inaction — at the highest levels of power.
The great American middle was never large enough, even at its height. It always excluded too many people — sometimes, shamefully, merely for their skin color. And now, instead of growing and becoming more inclusive, it’s fading away instead.
It’s true that the middle class is dying, but not from natural causes. It’s being killed. What — and, for that matter, who — is responsible for its slow death?

DEATH of the AMERICAN MIDDLE CLASS - Will DETROIT be the FUTURE for all of U.S.?
So says Gold Stock Analyst editor, John Doody, whose "Top 10" portfolio of gold stocks returned more than 1,200% between 2001 and 2012. "Gold stocks are 39% undervalued," he adds.
From the beginning of the gold bull market in 2001 until the end of 2003, the price of gold rallied from roughly $255 an ounce to $415 an ounce -- a 60% plus gain.
Gold stocks have solidly underperformed the action in gold over the past two years. Gold topped near $1,900 an ounce in 2011. It ended 2013 at about $1,200.
Fact is, gold stocks are so undervalued, even if the price of gold goes nowhere this year, the HUI index for gold stocks could double. And if the price of gold rallies this year, gold stocks could soar much, much more. But which stocks should you buy? America's natural resources sector... Dallas, Texas.
Gold Finally Hits Bottom
As you can see from the chart below, junior mining gold stocks were crushed, falling more than 50%.
Peter Schiff: I think it's a disaster. Very few people perceive just how big a disaster it is. Most people think the U.S. economy is recovering, maybe a bit more sluggish than they would like. People talk about a jobless recovery. But the reality is it's not a recovery at all. We are not recovering from anything. The country is getting sicker.
The U.S. economy is really all screwed up. It's the result of mainly monetary policy, but fiscal and regulatory policies are part of the problem. I think the major part of the problem is the central bank. The central bank is basically trying to accommodate bad fiscal policy, bad regulatory policy. They are trying to provide a stimulus to the economy to negate the sedative that is being applied by the government. But it's actually making the problem worse.
Mr. Schiff: One of the problems we have in America is that interest rates are too low. We don't save enough, we spend too much, we borrow too much, we don't produce enough. So we have these huge external imbalances where we borrow from the rest of the world. We have to import goods, because we don't invest in productivity.

If this was just a bit of anticipation, why leave it naked in the report? Why not say there was no current evidence the NSA had been manipulating financial systems?

What is America going to look like when the middle class is dead? Once upon a time, the United States has the largest and most vibrant middle class in the history of the world. When I was growing up, it seemed like almost everyone was "middle class" and it was very rare to hear of someone that was out of work. Of course life wasn't perfect, but most families owned a home, most families had more than one vehicle, and most families could afford nice vacations and save for retirement at the same time. Sadly, things have dramatically changed in America since that time. There just aren't as many "middle class jobs" as there used to be. In fact, just six years ago there were about six million more full-time jobs in our economy than there are right now. Those jobs are being replaced by part-time jobs and temp jobs. The number one employer in America today is Wal-Mart and the number two employer in America today is a temp agency (Kelly Services). But you can't support a family on those kinds of jobs. We live at a time when incomes are going down but the cost of living just keeps going up. As a result, the middle class in America is being absolutely shredded and the ranks of the poor are steadily growing. The American middle class is a social class in the United States. While the concept is typically ambiguous in popular opinion and common language use, contemporary social scientists have put forward several, more or less congruent, theories on the American middle class. Depending on class model used, the middle class may constitute anywhere from 25% to 66% of households.
One of first major studies of the middle class in America, White Collar: The American Middle Classes, was made by sociologist C. Wright Mills in 1951. Later sociologists such as Dennis Gilbert of Hamilton College commonly divide the middle class into two sub-groups. Constituting roughly 15% to 20% of households is the upper or professional middle class consisting of highly educated, salaried professionals and managers. Constituting roughly one third of households is the lower middle class consisting mostly of semi-professionals, skilled craftsmen and lower level management. Middle class persons commonly have a comfortable standard of living, significant economic security, considerable work autonomy and rely on their expertise to sustain themselves.

The middle class is a class of people in the middle of a societal hierarchy. In Weberian socio-economic terms, the middle class is the broad group of people in contemporary society who fall socio-economically between the working class and upper class. The common measures of what constitutes middle class vary significantly between cultures.
The term "middle class" is first attested in James Bradshaw's 1745 pamphlet Scheme to prevent running Irish Wools to France. The term has had several, sometimes contradictory, meanings. It was once defined by exception as an intermediate social class between the nobility and the peasantry of Europe.[by whom?] While the nobility owned the countryside, and the peasantry worked the countryside, a new bourgeoisie (literally "town-dwellers") arose around mercantile functions in the city. Another definition equated the middle class to the original meaning of capitalist: someone with so much capital that they could rival nobles. By this definition, only millionaires and billionaires are middle class in modern times. In fact, to be a capital-owning millionaire was the essential criterion of the middle class in the industrial revolution. In France, the middle classes helped drive the French Revolution.

Elizabeth Warren (born June 22, 1949) is an American bankruptcy law expert, policy advocate, Harvard Law School professor, and Democratic Party candidate in the 2012 United States Senate election in Massachusetts. She has written several academic and popular books concerning the American economy and personal finance. She contributed to the oversight of the 2008 U.S. bailout program, and also led the conception and establishment of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.
Born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Warren attended The George Washington University and the University of Houston. She received a J.D. from Rutgers School of Law–Newark in 1976. Warren taught law at several universities and was listed by the Association of American Law Schools as a minority law professor throughout the 1980s and 1990s. In the wake of the U.S. financial crisis, Warren served as chair of the Congressional Oversight Panel created to oversee the Troubled Assets Relief Program in 2008. She later served as Assistant to the President and Special Advisor to the Secretary of the Treasury for the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau under U.S. President Barack Obama.

So says Gold Stock Analyst editor, John Doody, whose "Top 10" portfolio of gold stocks returned more than 1,200% between 2001 and 2012. "Gold stocks are 39% undervalued," he adds. From the beginning of the gold bull market in 2001 until the end of 2003, the price of gold rallied from roughly $255 an ounce to $415 an ounce -- a 60% plus gain. Gold stocks have solidly underperformed the action in gold over the past two years. Gold topped near $1,900 an ounce in 2011. It ended 2013 at about $1,200. Fact is, gold stocks are so undervalued, even if the price of gold goes nowhere this year, the HUI index for gold stocks could double. And if the price of gold rallies this year, gold stocks could soar much, much more. But which stocks should you buy? America's natural resources sector... Dallas, Texas. Gold Finally Hits Bottom As you can see from the chart below, junior mining gold stocks were crushed, falling more than 50%. Peter Schiff: I think it's a disaster. Very few people perceive just how big a disaster it is. Most people think the U.S. economy is recovering, maybe a bit more sluggish than they would like. People talk about a jobless recovery. But the reality is it's not a recovery at all. We are not recovering from anything. The country is getting sicker. The U.S. economy is really all screwed up. It's the result of mainly monetary policy, but fiscal and regulatory policies are part of the problem. I think the major part of the problem is the central bank. The central bank is basically trying to accommodate bad fiscal policy, bad regulatory policy. They are trying to provide a stimulus to the economy to negate the sedative that is being applied by the government. But it's actually making the problem worse. Mr. Schiff: One of the problems we have in America is that interest rates are too low. We don't save enough, we spend too much, we borrow too much, we don't produce enough. So we have these huge external imbalances where we borrow from the rest of the world. We have to import goods, because we don't invest in productivity. Were the authors just anticipating a possible crime? Of course life wasn't perfect, but most families owned a home, most families had more than one vehicle, and most families could afford nice vacations and save for retirement at the same time. Sadly, things have dramatically changed in America since that time. There just aren't as many "middle class jobs" as there used to be. In fact, just six years ago there were about six million more full-time jobs in our economy than there are right now. Those jobs are being replaced by part-time jobs and temp jobs. The number one employer in America today is Wal-Mart and the number two employer in America today is a temp agency (Kelly Services). But you can't support a family on those kinds of jobs. We live at a time when incomes are going down but the cost of living just keeps going up. So says Gold Stock Analyst editor, John Doody, whose "Top 10" portfolio of gold stocks returned more than 1,200% between 2001 and 2012. "Gold stocks are 39% undervalued," he adds.
From the beginning of the gold bull market in 2001 until the end of 2003, the price of gold rallied from roughly $255 an ounce to $415 an ounce -- a 60% plus gain.
Gold stocks have solidly underperformed the action in gold over the past two years. Gold topped near $1,900 an ounce in 2011. It ended 2013 at about $1,200.
Fact is, gold stocks are so undervalued, even if the price of gold goes nowhere this year, the HUI index for gold stocks could double. And if the price of gold rallies this year, gold stocks could soar much, much more. But which stocks should you buy? America's natural resources sector... Dallas, Texas.
Gold Finally Hits Bottom
As you can see from the chart below, junior mining gold stocks were crushed, falling more than 50%.
Peter Schiff: I think it's a disaster. Very few people perceive just how big a disaster it is. Most people think the U.S. economy is recovering, maybe a bit more sluggish than they would like. People talk about a jobless recovery. But the reality is it's not a recovery at all. We are not recovering from anything. The country is getting sicker.
The U.S. economy is really all screwed up. It's the result of mainly monetary policy, but fiscal and regulatory policies are part of the problem. I think the major part of the problem is the central bank. The central bank is basically trying to accommodate bad fiscal policy, bad regulatory policy. They are trying to provide a stimulus to the economy to negate the sedative that is being applied by the government. But it's actually making the problem worse.
Mr. Schiff: One of the problems we have in America is that interest rates are too low. We don't save enough, we spend too much, we borrow too much, we don't produce enough. So we have these huge external imbalances where we borrow from the rest of the world. We have to import goods, because we don't invest in productivity.

What is America going to look like when the middle class is dead? Once upon a time, the United States has the largest and most vibrant middle class in the history of the world. When I was growing up, it seemed like almost everyone was "middle class" and it was very rare to hear of someone that was out of work. Of course life wasn't perfect, but most families owned a home, most families had more than one vehicle, and most families could afford nice vacations and save for retirement at the same time. Sadly, things have dramatically changed in America since that time. There just aren't as many "middle class jobs" as there used to be.
