Anandamide, also known as N-arachidonoylethanolamide or AEA, is an endogenous cannabinoid neurotransmitter. The name is taken from the Sanskrit word ananda, which means "bliss, delight", and amide. It is synthesized from N-arachidonoyl phosphatidylethanolamine by multiple pathways. It is degraded primarily by the fatty acid amide hydrolase (FAAH) enzyme, which converts anandamide into ethanolamine and arachidonic acid. As such, inhibitors of FAAH lead to elevated anandamide levels and are being pursued for therapeutic use.

It was isolated and its structure first described in 1992 by Raphael Mechoulam of the Hebrew University.

Anandamide's effects can be either central, in the brain, or peripheral, in other parts of the body. These distinct effects are mediated primarily by CB1 cannabinoid receptors in the central nervous system, and CB2 cannabinoid receptors in the periphery. The latter are mainly involved in functions of the immune system. Cannabinoid receptors were originally discovered as being sensitive to Δ⁹-tetrahydrocannabinol (Δ⁹-THC, commonly called THC), which is the primary psychoactive cannabinoid found in cannabis. The discovery of anandamide came from research into CB1 and CB2, as it was inevitable that a naturally occurring (endogenous) chemical would be found to affect these receptors.

Anjali Devi (Telugu: అంజలీదేవి)  pronunciation (help·info) (born 24 August 1927) is a veteran Telugu actress and producer. She is well known for her mythological role as Sita in Lava Kusha and roles in movies like Suvarna Sundari and Anarkali.

She hails from Peddapuram, East Godavari district in Andhra Pradesh, India, and later settled in Chennai. She was a theater artist before entering into movies. Her film debut was as Lohitasya in Raja Harishchandra in 1936. Her first movie as heroine was Kashtajeevi by L. V. Prasad 1n 1940 but that movie was abandoned after three reels shooting.Later C.Pullayya found her given opportunity hevenly beauty Mohini in Gollabhama. With her expressions and looks, she became a star overnight in 1947. After that she never looked back. She eventually acted in more than 350 Telugu films^{[citation needed]} and also in a few Tamil and Kannada films as the heroine.

She married P. Adinarayana Rao, a music director, in 1940. They have two sons. Together they produced many Telugu films under the banner of Anjali Pictures. She acted in Lava Kusha, a milestone film and the first color film in the Telugu film industry in 1963. She acted in various roles like damsel, angel, dancer, demon, goddess, traditional woman and later in mother characters. Her granddaughter Saila Rao is also an actress.

Vijaya Nirmala (Telugu: విజయ నిర్మల) is a South Indian actress and director. In 2002, the Guinness Book of Records named her as the female director who had made the highest number of films. She has directed 47 movies.

Vijaya Nirmala's entry into the film industry was as a child artiste in Panduranga Mahatmyam (1957) at the age of 7. In 1964, she starred opposite Prem Nazir in the landmark Malayalam film Bhargavi Nilayam. She debuted in Telugu industry through the film Rangula Ratnam. Her debut film in Tamil was Engaveettu Penn, which was followed by movies including Panama Paasama, En Annan, Gnanaoli, and Uyira Maanama. She met her second husband Krishna on the sets of Saakshi (1967), her second film in Telugu, and they starred together in 47 films. It was Saakshi, that kindled her interest in direction.

To date, she has acted in over 200 films with 25 each in Malayalam and Tamil, and the remaining in Telugu. Her small screen debut came with Balaji Telefilms Pelli Kanuka. Soon after, she launched her own banner Vijaya Krishna Movies and produced 15 films. She made her directional debut with a Malayalam film with a budget of 3 lakhs. She made her directorial debut in Telugu with Meena and directed 40 films in Telugu and one film each in Malayalam (directorial debut film) and Tamil (Kungumachimizh). Currently the actress-director is based in Hyderabad and is managing Padmalaya Studios and Padmalaya Telefilms Ltd.

LTJ Bukem is the stage name used by the drum and bass musician, producer and DJ Danny Williamson (born 1967). He and his record labels Good Looking and Looking Good Records are most associated with the jazzy, atmospheric side of drum and bass music.

He was trained as a classical pianist and discovered jazz fusion in his teenage years, having a jazz funk band at one stage. However by the late 1980s he decided to become a DJ, and gained fame in the rave scene of the early 1990s. As a producer, he released a series of jungle tracks such as "Demon's Theme" (1991), "Atlantis" and "Music" (1993). His most notable release was the track "Horizons" (1995) which attained considerable popularity.

He then dipped in visibility as a producer, with his work running the London club night Speed and his record label Good Looking Records coming to the fore. A series of compilations entitled Logical Progression highlighted a jazz and ambient influenced side of drum and bass. The style became widely known as intelligent drum and bass, although Bukem himself was opposed to the moniker, unhappy with the implication that other styles of jungle were not intelligent.^{[citation needed]} Bukem also explored the downtempo end of electronic lounge music, with sister label Cookin' and the Earth series of compilations. Some of the artists who rose to fame under Good Looking in this period include Blame, Seba, Big Bud, Blu Mar Ten, DJ Dream, Future Engineers, Tayla, Aquarius (Photek), Peshay, Source Direct and Artemis.

Stamina MC is a stage name of drum & bass MC and vocalist Linden Reeves. Stamina MC used both rapping and vocalizing.

His earliest experiences of MCing were on pirate radio in 1996; first Pressure FM (inactive), then on to currently active, once-pirate-but-no-longer station Rinse FM. In 2000, he met DJ Marky, DJ Patife and XRS Land, through being given a trial opportunity to perform at Movement, a weekly drum & bass event in London.

He is best known for providing vocals for two successful Drum & Bass tracks entitled "LK" by DJ Marky and XRS Land (released July 8th 2002 on V Recordings) and "Barcelona" by D. Kay and Epsilon (released Aug 11th 2003 on BC Authorised/BMG). These tracks achieved UK chart positions of #17 and #14 respectively. Videos for both tracks can be found on YouTube.

He was also part of the original line up for the London Elektricity LIVE band (alongside Andy Waterworth, Jungle Drummer, Lianne Carroll, Tim Landslide and Robert Owens), touring the country with them and featuring on the 'Live Gravy' DVD, fillmed at the Jazz Café in October 2003 and released on Hospital Records. Further live exploits came in the form of 'CPF Live' - an act put together by Craggz and Parallel Forces to support their album release on Valve Recordings entitled 'Northern Soul'.
