Xavier University (/ˈzeɪviər/ ZAY-vee-ər) is a co-educational Jesuit, Catholic university located in Cincinnati, Ohio, United States. The school is the sixth-oldest Catholic and fourth-oldest Jesuit university in the nation. Xavier has an undergraduate enrollment of 4,485 students and graduate enrollment of 2,165. Xavier is primarily an undergraduate, liberal arts institution. Graduate programs include occupational therapy, education, counseling, nursing, English, theology, psychology, and business.
Xavier University was the first Catholic institution of higher learning in the Northwest Territory and is the fourth oldest Jesuit University and the sixth oldest Catholic university in the United States. The school was founded in 1831 as a men's college in downtown Cincinnati, adjacent to St. Francis Xavier Church on Sycamore Street. The Athenaeum, as it was then called, was dedicated to the patronage of Saint Francis Xavier by Bishop Edward Fenwick on October 17, 1831. Upon Bishop John Baptist Purcell's request, the Society of Jesus took control of The Athenaeum in 1840, and the name was changed to St. Xavier College in honor of the 16th century Jesuit missionary, St. Francis Xavier who, like the founder of the Jesuits, Ignatius Loyola, was a Spanish Basque. St. Xavier College moved in 1912 to its current North Avondale location, about 5 miles (8.0 km) north of downtown, after the purchase of 26 acres (0.11 km2) from the Avondale Athletic Club. The "original" Anthenaeum is now the seminary of the Archdiocese of Cincinnati. St. Xavier College and St. Xavier High School officially split in 1919, though they did not become financially independent until 1934. The name of the school was changed a second time to its current name, Xavier University, in 1930.
Saint Xavier University (abbreviated SXU) is a four-year, coeducational institution of higher learning located on the southwest side of Chicago, Illinois.
Saint Xavier University was founded as a women's college by the Sisters of Mercy in 1846 at the request of Bishop William Quarter. With the City of Chicago less than ten years old, the Sisters of Mercy, under the guidance of Mother Mary Francis Warde, RSM, established Saint Francis Xavier Female Academy. The Academy, which would later become Saint Xavier College, and finally Saint Xavier University, was the first Mercy College in the world and is the oldest chartered College in the city of Chicago.
The original campus, which burnt down in the Great Chicago Fire of 1871, was located on Wabash Avenue between Madison and Monroe in downtown Chicago. Soon after, the campus was rebuilt on a 5-acre (2.023 ha) site on the southern boundary of Chicago.
Saint Xavier's 109 acres (44.1 ha) main campus is located in City of Chicago in the Mt. Greenwood neighborhood on the corner of 103rd Street and Central Park Avenue.
The Future Leaders Trust is a UK charitable organisation with the mission of addressing educational disadvantage. It recruits and trains aspiring school leaders who focus on raising the achievement and attainment of pupils from disadvantaged backgrounds. It aims to change a system that allows children from deprived backgrounds to be educationally marginalised.
A participant enrolled on the Future Leaders programme is commonly referred to as a ‘Future Leader’.
Following a feasibility trip to the US and seeing the work of New Leaders, The Future Leaders Trust was set up in 2006 as an independent charity by Absolute Return for Kids, National College for Teaching and Leadership, and The Schools Network. These organisations shared the vision for a leadership programme to improve the life chances of pupils from disadvantaged backgrounds. Key people involved in establishing the organisation included Lord Adonis, who provided support from Government, and Jay Altman and Sir Iain Hall helped to design the initial programme. Heath Monk is currently CEO of the charity.

He needs me
He doesn't know it, but he needs me
And so no matter where he goes
Though he doesn't care
He knows that I'm here
He needs me
I ought to leave him, but he needs me
I know that I'm not very bright
Just to tag along
Oh, but right or wrong
I'm his and I'm here
And I'm gonna be his friend or his lover
'Cause my one ambition is
To wake him and make him discover
That he needs me
I've got to follow where he leads me
Or else he'll never know that I need him
