The movie shows a cab ride with freight train #5135 from Landquart over the famous Albula Line of the Rhaetian Railways to Samedan. The train is pulled by GE 6/6'' #701 Raetia.
The Ge 6/6'' (Bo′Bo′Bo′) is a class of heavy electric locomotives with a total of 7 engines. The first engine, #701, was delivered in 1958 by the manufacturers Schweizerische Lokomotiv- und Maschinenfabrik (SLM), Brown, Boveri & Cie (BBC) and Maschinenfabrik Oerlikon (MFO) at a price of 230,000 Swiss francs. The last engine, #707 was delivered in 1965. The engines are capable of pulling 280 tons on the 35% grade over Albula Pass. They operate with 11kV 16 2/3 Hz AC power. The Ge 6/6 II locomotives have a top speed of 80 kilometres per hour (50 mph), weigh 65 tonnes and develop 1,776 kilowatts (2,382 hp) at 46 kilometres per hour.
In part 1, we see the engine running light from Landquart to Landquart Ried, were the freight train is picked up. Additional cars are picked up at Untervaz between Landquart and Chur. Now, the train consists of 34 axles, weights 273 tons and has a speed limit of 60 km/h. Part 1 ends in Reichenau-Tamins, where the Albula Pass line and the line from Chur to Disentis seperate.

Az Albula Vasút egy egyvágányú, egy méteres nyomtávolságú vasútvonal szakasza a 2014-ben 125 éves jubileumát ünneplő RhB vasúttársaságnak Svájc Graubünden Kantonjában. A vasútvonal Thusis /697m/ és St. Moritz /1774m/ városok közt fekszik.
Az Albula Vasút építése 1898-ban kezdődött, s 5 év múlva, 1903. július 1-én nyitották meg a forgalom előtt. A St. Moritz-ig kibővített új szakasz 1904. július 10-től üzemel. Az 55 híddal és 39 alagúttal fűszerezett 61,67 km hosszú útvonal egyike a világ leglátványosabb keskeny nyomközű vasútvonalainak a világon, ami 2008-tól az UNESCO Világörökség része!
The Albula Railway is a single track metre gauge railway line forming part of the so-called core network of the Rhaetian Railway (RhB), in the Canton of Graubünden, Switzerland. It links Thusis on the Hinterrhein (697 m (2,287 ft) above sea level) with the spa resort of St. Moritz in Engadine (1,774 m (5,820 ft) above sea level).
Construction of the Albula Railway was begun in September 1898, the opening took place on 1 July 1903, and the extension to St. Moritz commenced operations on 10 July 1904. With its 55 bridges and 39 tunnels, the 61.67-kilometre long (38.32 mi) line is one of the most spectacular narrow gauge railways in the world.

Harmonie Unie Sevenum: Albula mars
Op maandag 11 juli geeft de Jeugdunie samen met de Harmonie Unie van 19.30 tot 20.30 uur een informeel optreden op de Markt in Sevenum.Tijdens het openluchtconcert spelen de Jeugdunie en de Harmonie Unie Sevenum nummers van onder anderen Rowwen Hèze, Gerard Joling, Jan Smit, Guus Meeuwis, René Schuurmans en ABBA. Iedereen is welkom op de Markt in Sevenum om dit unieke optreden gratis bij te wonen.
Dit openluchtconcert is een voorproefje voor de Jeugdunie. Zij spelen namelijk op 20 november samen met de jeugdharmonieën van Panningen en Roggel 'Toppertjes in Concert'. Dit concert zal plaatsvinden op de Leistert in Roggel. Tijdens 'Toppertjes in Concert' worden voornamelijk nummers van Nederlandse bodem ten gehore gebracht samen met band, zangers en zangeressen.

Von Chur aus fahren wir auf dem Führerstand einer modernen Ge 4/4 III über Thusis, Filisur, Bergün, Preda durch den 5865 m langen Albulatunnel hinüber ins Engadin, bis unsere Fahrt in Samedan nahe St.Moritz endet. Die Albula-Linie ist eine der spektakulärsten Teilabschnitte der Rhätischen Bahn in Graubünden (Schweiz). Kühne Viadukte, dutzende Tunnel, darunter viele reine Steigungs-Kehrtunnel, zeugen vom Wagemut und hoher schweizerischer Ingenieurkunst beim Bau solcher heute noch faszinierenden Streckenführungen.
Die Strecke im Albulatal mit dem 65 m hohen und 136 m langen Landwasser-Viadukt, die tiefe Schin-Schlucht mit dem 89 m hohen Soliser Viadukt über die Albula und die höchste Steinbrücke der RhB gehören zum Weltkulturerbe. Hinter Bergün bergwärts folgen dann die berühmten vier Albula-Viadukte mit ihren Spiraltunneln und einer faszinierenden Gebirgslandschaft. Die spektakulärsten Bauwerke sind in die Streckenszenen jeweils so eingeblendet, wie sie der Betrachter an der Strecke erlebt. In between, the train drops a car at Rothenbrunnen and switches other cars in and out in Thusis. The Albula line is a single track metre gauge railway linking Thusis on the Hinterrein (697m) with St. Moritz in the Engadine (1,774m above sea level). The line was constructed between 1898 and 1904. It has 55 bridges, 39 tunnels and is 62km long. Between Sils and Solis, the train passes the 9km long Schin gorge by way of a constant succession of tunnels and bridges. In part 4, we see the train operating from Filisur upgrade towards Bergün. The train is following the steep Albula valley upgrade with a maximum grade of 3.5%. In longer tunnel, the grade is reduced to 3.0% to compensate for slippery track. Near Bergün, we pass a tunnel which is currently under reconstruction. To avoid passenger leaning out of the windows getting hurt, brooms are mounted in front of both tunnel entrances giving passengers a stern warning to keep their heads inside the car! Enjoy!

Die Albula-Strecke der Rhätischen Bahn
Von Chur aus fahren wir auf dem Führerstand einer modernen Ge 4/4 III über Thusis, Filisur, Bergün, Preda durch den 5865 m langen Albulatunnel hinüber ins Engadin, bis unsere Fahrt in Samedan nahe St.Moritz endet. Die Albula-Linie ist eine der spektakulärsten Teilabschnitte der Rhätischen Bahn in Graubünden (Schweiz). Kühne Viadukte, dutzende Tunnel, darunter viele reine Steigungs-Kehrtunnel, zeugen vom Wagemut und hoher schweizerischer Ingenieurkunst beim Bau solcher heute noch faszinierenden Streckenführungen. In part 4, we see the train operating from Filisur upgrade towards Bergün. The train is following the steep Albula valley upgrade with a maximum grade of 3.5%. In longer tunnel, the grade is reduced to 3.0% to compensate for slippery track. Near Bergün, we pass a tunnel which is currently under reconstruction. To avoid passenger leaning out of the windows getting hurt, brooms are mounted in front of both tunnel entrances giving passengers a stern warning to keep their heads inside the car! Enjoy! -

Between Bergün and Preda, in a distance of 5 km, a difference in altitude of over 400 m needed to be overcome by the railway. To maintain a maximum grade of 3.5%, an intricate alignment was devised, which lengthened the line to 12km between the two stations. Two turn back tunnels above Bergün and three spiral tunnels below Preda combined with crisscrossing the Albula valley four times overcame the engineering problem. The Ge 6/6'' (Bo′Bo′Bo′) is a class of heavy electric locomotives with a total of 7 engines. The first engine, #701, was delivered in 1958 by the manufacturers Schweizerische Lokomotiv- und Maschinenfabrik (SLM), Brown, Boveri & Cie (BBC) and Maschinenfabrik Oerlikon (MFO) at a price of 230,000 Swiss francs. The last engine, #707 was delivered in 1965. The engines are capable of pulling 280 tons on the 35% grade over Albula Pass. They operate with 11kV 16 2/3 Hz AC power. The Ge 6/6 II locomotives have a top speed of 80 kilometres per hour (50 mph), weigh 65 tonnes and develop 1,776 kilowatts (2,382 hp) at 46 kilometres per hour.
In part 1, we see the engine running light from Landquart to Landquart Ried, were the freight train is picked up. Additional cars are picked up at Untervaz between Landquart and Chur. Now, the train consists of 34 axles, weights 273 tons and has a speed limit of 60 km/h. Part 1 ends in Reichenau-Tamins, where the Albula Pass line and the line from Chur to Disentis seperate.

Each Sunday, you can travel in the nostalgic wooden coaches and open scenic carriages from Landquart to Samedan, right through the heart of the UNESCO World Heritage site, a railway paradise.

Von Chur aus fahren wir auf dem Führerstand einer modernen Ge 4/4 III über Thusis, Filisur, Bergün, Preda durch den 5865 m langen Albulatunnel hinüber ins Engadin, bis unsere Fahrt in Samedan nahe St.Moritz endet. Die Albula-Linie ist eine der spektakulärsten Teilabschnitte der Rhätischen Bahn in Graubünden (Schweiz). Kühne Viadukte, dutzende Tunnel, darunter viele reine Steigungs-Kehrtunnel, zeugen vom Wagemut und hoher schweizerischer Ingenieurkunst beim Bau solcher heute noch faszinierenden Streckenführungen.
Die Strecke im Albulatal mit dem 65 m hohen und 136 m langen Landwasser-Viadukt, die tiefe Schin-Schlucht mit dem 89 m hohen Soliser Viadukt über die Albula und die höchste Steinbrücke der RhB gehören zum Weltkulturerbe. Hinter Bergün bergwärts folgen dann die berühmten vier Albula-Viadukte mit ihren Spiraltunneln und einer faszinierenden Gebirgslandschaft. The movie shows a ride with freight train #5135 from Landquart over the famous Albula Line of the Rhaetian Railways to Samedan. The train is pulled by GE 6/6'' #701.
In part 2, we see the train operating between Reichenau-Tamins and Solis, at the end of the famous Schin Gorge. In between, the train drops a car at Rothenbrunnen and switches other cars in and out in Thusis.
The Albula line is a single track metre gauge railway linking Thusis on the Hinterrein (697m) with St. Moritz in the Engadine (1,774m above sea level). The line was constructed between 1898 and 1904. It has 55 bridges, 39 tunnels and is 62km long.
Between Sils and Solis, the train passes the 9km long Schin gorge by way of a constant succession of tunnels and bridges. The Schin gorge was formed by the River Albula, with joins the Rhine river at Thusis.

Between Bergün and Preda, in a distance of 5 km, a difference in altitude of over 400 m needed to be overcome by the railway. To maintain a maximum grade of 3.5%, an intricate alignment was devised, which lengthened the line to 12km between the two stations. Two turn back tunnels above Bergün and three spiral tunnels below Preda combined with crisscrossing the Albula valley four times overcame the engineering problem. On the run upgrade we pass a slow speed zone where the train has to be able to stop within sight due to a unstable stone wall. In Preda, we pass the large construction site of the new Albula tunnel, a CHFm/US$ 250m project to replace the old, more than 100 year old tunnel.

Rhätische Bahn AG has awarded the tender to build the Albula Tunnel II to a consortium of Porr Suisse (lead and technical management), Walo Bertschinger AG (commercial management) and Società Italiana per Condotte d'acqua S.p.A ... The current Albula Tunnel I is over 100 years old and overhauling it would be too costly in light of the ongoing rail service ... Albula Tunnel I will then be converted into a safety tunnel....
