Steve Hilton (born 25 August 1969) is a former director of strategy for David Cameron, Prime Minister and leader of the Conservative Party in the United Kingdom.

Hilton is the son of Hungarian immigrants called Hircsák (alternative spelling: Hircksac), who fled their home during the Hungarian Revolution of 1956 and anglicized their name to Hilton when they fled their homeland for Britain as migrants, initially claiming asylum. He won a scholarship to Christ's Hospital School in Horsham before reading Philosophy, Politics, and Economics at New College, Oxford.

After graduating, Hilton joined Conservative Central Office, where he came to know David Cameron and Rachel Whetstone, his future wife and Global VP of Public Affairs and Communications for Google. He liaised with the party's favourite advertising firm, Saatchi and Saatchi, and was praised by Maurice Saatchi, who remarked, "No one reminds me as much of me when young as Steve." During this time Hilton came up with the "New Labour, New Danger" demon eyes poster campaign for the Conservative's pre-general election campaign in 1996, which won an award from the advertising industry's Campaign magazine at the beginning of 1997. In 2005, Hilton lost out to future Secretary of State for Education, Michael Gove in the selection process for the Surrey Heath constituency.

David William Donald Cameron (pronunciation: /ˈkæmərən/; born 9 October 1966) is the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, First Lord of the Treasury, Minister for the Civil Service and Leader of the Conservative Party. He represents Witney as its Member of Parliament (MP).

Cameron studied Philosophy, Politics and Economics (PPE) at Oxford, gaining a first class honours degree. He then joined the Conservative Research Department and became Special Adviser to Norman Lamont, and then to Michael Howard. He was Director of Corporate Affairs at Carlton Communications for seven years.

He was defeated in his first candidacy for Parliament at Stafford in 1997, but was elected in 2001 as the Member of Parliament for the Oxfordshire constituency of Witney. He was promoted to the Opposition front bench two years later, and rose rapidly to become head of policy co-ordination during the 2005 general election campaign. With a public image of a youthful, moderate candidate who would appeal to young voters, he won the Conservative leadership election in 2005.

Stephen Hilton is a composer, record producer, musician and programmer. He currently has a publishing deal with Universal Music.

Hilton wrote the original score for "The Children" (Vertigo Films), "New York Town Killers" (Independent), "Salvage" (Hoax Films) and "Vida Ballet" (Tigerlily Films), to name a few. He collaborated with renowned composer David Holmes on "Cherrybomb" and "Hunger", which received critical acclaim worldwide.

His electronic work on movie scores comprises some 20 Hollywood features including two James Bond movies; "The World Is Not Enough" and "Die Another Day". Other credits include Oceans 11, 12 & 13, "Moulin Rouge!", "Shaft", "Zoolander", "The Bone Collector", "Plunkett and MacClean", "Analyse That", "Buffalo Soldiers" and Luc Besson's "Kiss Of The Dragon".

Hilton recently produced the score for the new Caroline Aherne film, in collaboration with Badly Drawn Boy.

Stephen co-wrote the track "Drone Zone" with Siouxsie Sioux, for her long awaited solo artist album MantaRay. Stephen has worked with many artists, and has contributed to the works of Depeche Mode, Massive Attack, Moloko, Isaac Hayes, The Pet Shop Boys, Scott Walker, Pulp, David Holmes, Bomb the Bass, Mel C, The Divine Comedy, Dirty Vegas, Martina Topley-Bird, Natasha Bedingfield, Joy Zipper, The John Spencer Blues Explosion, David Arnold, Trevor Horn and Rick Nowels. He has also remixed songs by Orbital, Craig Armstrong and Primal Scream. Stephen composed, produced and mixed the music for the National Movie Awards.
