Gina Torres
Gina Torres (born April 25, 1969) is an American television and movie actress. She has appeared in many television series, including Hercules: The Legendary Journeys (as Nebula), Xena: Warrior Princess (as Cleopatra), the short-lived Cleopatra 2525, Alias (as Anna Espinosa), Firefly (as Zoe Washburne), Angel (as Jasmine), 24 (as Julia Miliken), Suits (as Jessica Pearson), and The Shield.
She starred in the independent film South of Pico as Carla, and reprised her Firefly role in its feature film sequel Serenity. Currently, she has a main role on the USA Network show Suits as Jessica Pearson. She and real-life husband Laurence Fishburne played a married couple on the NBC television series Hannibal.
Early life
Torres was born at the Flower Fifth Avenue Hospital in Manhattan, the youngest of three children. Her family lived briefly in Washington Heights before moving to The Bronx. Her parents were both of multiracial Cuban descent, and her father worked as a typesetter for La Prensa and The New York Daily News.

Plot: Domenic Walker was once the number one horror writer in the world. His career was great until his books and movies started to flop. His friends and the media, especially a movie critic by the name of Henry Torres, bashed him constantly on his radio show. Domenic's divorce didn't make things any better. He was being sued for millions by his soon to be ex-wife Alicia. The only two people left that supported Domenic was Professor Khalun and his agent Eric. Domenic's fascination for the supernatural powers of ancient artifacts worried his professor. Eric tried to get Domenic back on his feet several times with little success. Over emotional and stressed, Domenic's life took a dive. Drinking and depression took its toll. Domenic wanted revenge and to recover his once lost fame. He was in no position to accomplish this, but he wondered about the legend of the supernatural powers held by a medallion recently discovered by his professor in Spain. Could it be true? Could something from the ancient time be used to strike down on those who destroyed his career? What if it was only a myth? According to the legend, the power could only be unleashed upon committing suicide. Domenic is losing his mind, but what he could unleash could give him power beyond understanding. Was he part of a more evil plan all along? What evils from the past were playing with his future? He wants revenge and everything comes with a price.

Unemployed New Yorkers are being helped to find a new job by an unusual new career development programme.
A New York City tailor has joined forces with The Hope Program, a non-profit group that gives New Yorkers job-hunting skills to help lift them out of poverty.
Mohan's Custom Tailors has handed recent graduates of the programme new custom made suits for upcoming interviews - each worth 1,000 US dollars - for free.
Troy Baptiste, one of the 17 men involved with the Hope Program, expressed his thanks on Thursday as he had his own suit fitted.
"Words can't explain what he's doing for us right now," Baptiste said of the shop's owner.
Sales manager KJ Singh said the owner Mohan Ramchandani felt this was a good way to give back the goodwill he experienced when he came to the United States back in the 1970's.
"We thought it is really something we should do and make an impact on the students' lives," Singh said.
For nearly 33 years, The Hope Program has been helping the unemployed who lack an education, are fighting an addiction, or who have been in prison, to get back to work.
"We work on a lot of skills: literacy, math, computer skills, customers service. It really runs the gamut," said Irene Camp, The Hope Program's development director.
Baptiste is one of 15 men graduating this year.
After being made redundant in 2010 from his job as a lab technician, Baptiste admitted he made some bad choices, but wants to put that behind him.
"I got myself into some trouble you know, and been incarcerated for about a few months, and ever since then I realised it is not the life for me," Baptiste confessed.
