I am preparing a stuffing bake that starts with a box and ends up tasting just like you made it from scratch. Lets face it, if you are only cooking for a couple or you have a tight budget, then you will be wanting to have the greatest taste at the lowest price. I started this with a stuffing mix because they are accessible and inexpensive. They have all of the spices already mixed in and everyone knows what they are. Sometimes those bags of stuffing cubes can be as much or more than the two boxes of mix that I am using, and you will still have to add veggies, stock eggs and spices. This can be a budget buster for some.
Bake the stuffing at 350 degrees for 30 to 45 minutes or until heated through.
At this table there is room for everyone. There are no excuses to preparing a Thanksgiving meal large or small. Expensive or budget friendly.

This is the Best Thanksgiving Stuffing I've ever made! Instead of mincing up the classic Thanksgiving herbs like sage, rosemary, and thyme, I use a chicken broth that is already infused with those herbs (Swanson® Tuscan Chicken Flavor Infused Broth), so the flavor is soaked up in every bite. Ingredients:
1 loaf ciabatta bread, cut into cubes and left out overnight
1 stick butter
3 cups chopped yellow onion
1.5 cups chopped celery
salt
3/4 lb Sweet Italian pork sausage, casing removed
1/2 cup chopped parsley
2 eggs, beaten
2.5 cups Swanson® Tuscan Chicken Flavor Infused Broth
Directions:
Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F.
Melt the butter in a large skillet over medium heat, then add the onion, celery, and a pinch of salt. Cook for about 10 minutes, until the vegetables are soft and fragrant.
Pour the cooked veggies into a large mixing bowl, and return the skillet to the heat. Turn the heat to medium high, and brown the pork sausage. Break the pork sausage up into small pieces with your spatula, if needed, and cook until fully cooked through, about 7-8 minutes. Add the cooked pork sausage to the mixing bowl as well.
Add the bread cubes to the mixing bowl, as well as the parsley and eggs. Slowly pour the Swanson Tuscan Chicken Flavor Infused Broth over the bread cubes, then toss everything together to distribute the ingredients evenly.
Pour the ingredients into an 8x11 baking dish, cover with aluminum foil, and bake for 40 minutes until golden on top. Enjoy!

Stuffing
Stuffing, filling or dressing is an edible substance or mixture, often a starch, used to fill a cavity in another food item while cooking. Many foods may be stuffed, including eggs, poultry, seafood, mammals, and vegetables.
Turkey stuffing often consists of dried bread, in the form of croutons, cubes or breadcrumbs, pork sausage meat, onion, celery, salt, pepper, and other spices and herbs such as summer savoury, sage, or a mixture like poultry seasoning. Giblets are often used. Popular additions in the United Kingdom include dried fruits and nuts (notably apricots and flaked almonds), and chestnuts.
History
It is not known when stuffings were first used. The earliest documentary evidence is the Roman cookbook, Apicius De Re Coquinaria, which contains recipes for stuffed chicken, dormouse, hare, and pig. Most of the stuffings described consist of vegetables, herbs and spices, nuts, and spelt (an old cereal), and frequently contain chopped liver, brains, and other organ meat.
Names for stuffing include "farce" (~1390), "stuffing" (1538), "forcemeat" (1688), and relatively more recently in the United States; "dressing" (1850).

http://www.noreenskitchen.com Greetings! Continuing on with my easy meal plan for less than a crowd. I am preparing a stuffing bake that starts with a box and ends up tasting just like you made it from scratch. Lets face it, if you are only cooking for a couple or you have a tight budget, then you will be wanting to have the greatest taste at the lowest price. I started this with a stuffing mix because they are accessible and inexpensive. They have all of the spices already mixed in and everyone knows what they are. Sometimes those bags of stuffing cubes can be as much or more than the two boxes of mix that I am using, and you will still have to add veggies, stock eggs and spices. This can be a budget buster for some.
Bake the stuffing at 350 degrees for 30 to 45 minutes or until heated through.
At this table there is room for everyone. There are no excuses to preparing a Thanksgiving meal large or small. Expensive or budget friendly.

This is the Best Thanksgiving Stuffing I've ever made! Instead of mincing up the classic Thanksgiving herbs like sage, rosemary, and thyme, I use a chicken broth that is already infused with those herbs (Swanson® Tuscan Chicken Flavor Infused Broth), so the flavor is soaked up in every bite. Ingredients:
1 loaf ciabatta bread, cut into cubes and left out overnight
1 stick butter
3 cups chopped yellow onion
1.5 cups chopped celery
salt
3/4 lb Sweet Italian pork sausage, casing removed
1/2 cup chopped parsley
2 eggs, beaten
2.5 cups Swanson® Tuscan Chicken Flavor Infused Broth
Directions:
Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F.
Melt the butter in a large skillet over medium heat, then add the onion, celery, and a pinch of salt. Cook for about 10 minutes, until the vegetables are soft and fragrant.
Pour the cooked veggies into a large mixing bowl, and return the skillet to the heat. Turn the heat to medium high, and brown the pork sausage. Break the pork sausage up into small pieces with your spatula, if needed, and cook until fully cooked through, about 7-8 minutes. Add the cooked pork sausage to the mixing bowl as well.
Add the bread cubes to the mixing bowl, as well as the parsley and eggs. Slowly pour the Swanson Tuscan Chicken Flavor Infused Broth over the bread cubes, then toss everything together to distribute the ingredients evenly.
Pour the ingredients into an 8x11 baking dish, cover with aluminum foil, and bake for 40 minutes until golden on top. Enjoy!

A man and his child accomplice have been spotted trying to stuff a duck into a bag in a south Sydney park. Video taken yesterday at Camellia Gardens in Caringbah shows the man trying to insert the creature into a plastic shopping bag being held by his young companion. It's not clear whether the pair were trying to abduct the waterbird or if there was some other motive for their strange actions. -
