Peer pressure
Peer pressure (or social pressure) is influence a peer group, observers, or an individual exerts that encourages others to change their attitudes, values, or behaviors to conform to those of the influencing group or individual. Social groups affected include both membership groups, in which individuals are "formally" members (such as political parties and trade unions), and cliques in which membership is not clearly defined. However, a person does not need to be a member or be seeking membership of a group to be affected by peer pressure. One may also recognize dissociative groups, with which one wishes to avoid associating, and thus behave counter to that group's norms.
In youth
Peers become an important influence on behavior during adolescence, and peer pressure has been called a hallmark of adolescent experience. Peer conformity in young people is most pronounced with respect to style, taste, appearance, ideology, and values. Peer pressure is commonly associated with episodes of adolescent risk taking (such as delinquency, drug abuse, sexual behaviors, and reckless driving) because these activities commonly occur in the company of peers. Affiliation with friends who engage in risk behaviors has been shown to be a strong predictor of an adolescent's own behavior. Peer pressure can also have positive effects when youth are pressured by their peers toward positive behavior, such as volunteering for charity or excelling in academics. The importance of peers declines upon entering adulthood.

This is one of my best videos I think. Today I am opening up about my religious views and how it can be tough being a Christian and God girl in today's world/society! In no way am I trying to shove my beliefs down your throat but this is what I believe and I am a Christian. I really Hope you all enjoyed this video as much as I did making it!

-God you're here for us and we want MORE of you!
-It doesn't matter the mistakes you've made in your past, God is always forgiving if you ask.

-God wants to hear you and he wants to know your problems.
-Don't let any of the worldly desires get to you. It's okay to be alone. There's a difference between being alone and lonely.
-God knows your heart. He gives his toughest battles to his strongest soliders.
-When you're feeling down, alone, or empty step out of your comfort zone to help others.
-Spread Kindness.
-radiate love
-Instead of downgrading people, start uplifting them.
-Tell the one's you love most that you love them.
-Set a time for God.
-God has a calling and a purpose for your life.
-Don't let the past upset the FUTURE!
-every day is a new day for a new beginning in your life.
-it's your choice if you want to make it a good day or a bad day.
-not everyday is going to be perfect.
-If you put your faith, love, and kindness before anything else, God's going to have an amazing plan for you and everything's going to be okay.

Many people Muslim and non Muslim experience peer pressure, when moral values clash with actions, practices or behaviours of other youth who live around us, whether they are at school or in a neighbourhood. Peer pressure isn't a recent phenomenon that belongs only to our generation. Peer pressure is as old as the creation of human beings. Just the term "peer pressure" has been publicized lately.
Many people Muslim and non Muslim experience peer pressure, when moral values clash with actions, practices or behaviours of other youth who live around us, whether they are at school or in a neighbourhood.
Yusha Evans sheds some light on the issue and gives some good advice to the young and older generation who are facing the problem of peer pressure.

ABOUT THE SPEAKER -
He was born and raised in Greenville, South Carolina in a very conservative Christian home. In his early teens he became heavily involved in the church near his home and in Young Life, a non-denominational youth oriented organization with the intention of becoming involved in the ministry of teaching and preaching. He intended to enroll in Bob Jones University, a world-renowned Bible College in his hometown upon graduating high school, but in the summer of 1996 his life changed. Upon studying the bible from cover to cover and realizing many things were askew, and a lot of what he believed his entire life was not in line with what his research found, he left Christianity and went in search of the truth. After many twist and turns, ups and downs and after looking at the many world religions searching for the tangible proof of the right way of life he encountered a Muslim, and was given a Qur'an. After reading the Qur'an cover to cover he accepted Islam in the winter of 1998.
Yusha (Joshua) Evans Currently works as a full-time lecturer and caller to Islam, as well as teaching workshops that have taken him all across the globe. He is the founder and co-founder of two Islamic television stations in North America as well has appeared on many Islamic stations throughout the world. He has studied under numerous teachers and scholars in the various sciences of Islam and is a Phycology major. He is currently in Minneapolis Minnesota studying under Shaykh Waleed Al-Menesse, one of the worlds foremost Scholars in the Qur'an and its various sciences. He also is a multiple discipline Black belt holder and runs a martial arts academy in Minneapolis
