"We shot in Upstate New York at the peak of tick season," says director Aliya Naumoff of filming Jena Malone for the new video for her musical project, The Shoe. "Jena was covered in bites and scratches, but kept performing nonetheless." The Hunger Games actress started the duo with multi-instrumentalist Lem Jay Ignacio following an extended period of impromptu performances after the pair met at a party in 2008. They recorded their first album I'm Okay in California, distilling the sunshine of the Golden state into a series of intimate and improvisational indie tracks, with Malone creating the structure by tap dancing its beat with her feet. "I think music and my film work feed each other," says the Nevada-born Malone. "Learning how to improvise built up strengths in me as as an actor." Naumoff cast choreographer Celia Rowlson-Hall as Malone's co-star, who envisioned the video's nymph-like movements. "She is somewhat of a Zen master and I knew she would kill it with the dance," says the filmmaker. Inspired by the work of this year's Deutsche Börse Photography Prize winner Richard Mosse, The New York Times contributor worked with a colorist to recreate the effect by keying green tones in the same way that infrared film would pickup chlorophyll: "When I saw his use of color, specifically with his work in the Congo, I was incredibly moved by the feeling it created."

The Shoe
Coordinates: 51°28′01″N 2°16′37″W / 51.467°N 2.277°W / 51.467; -2.277
The Shoe is a hamlet in the parish of North Wraxall, in the north-west of Wiltshire in England. It is situated a few miles north of Bath, at the junction of the Fosse Way (the old Roman road from Exeter to Lincoln) and the A420 (running from Bristol to Oxford). The Shoe is named after the inn called The Horse-shoe.
Facilities
There is a natural spring, which could suggest a historical settlement of some sort. The Shoe Inn, marked on the 1:25,000 Ordnance Survey map, has now become a private house, although a board for public notices and a post box are still outside; there was a public telephone box but this has now been relocated to the grounds of the Community Hall. There is a garage, a row of cottages ("Fosse Cottages") and a few larger houses. Just off the Fosse Way, about 400 yards north of the A420 junction, lies the North Wraxall Village Hall, called the Community Hall, offering a playgroup and other amenities.

"We shot in Upstate New York at the peak of tick season," says director Aliya Naumoff of filming Jena Malone for the new video for her musical project, The Shoe. "Jena was covered in bites and scratches, but kept performing nonetheless." The Hunger Games actress started the duo with multi-instrumentalist Lem Jay Ignacio following an extended period of impromptu performances after the pair met at a party in 2008. They recorded their first album I'm Okay in California, distilling the sunshine of the Golden state into a series of intimate and improvisational indie tracks, with Malone creating the structure by tap dancing its beat with her feet. "I think music and my film work feed each other," says the Nevada-born Malone. "Learning how to improvise built up strengths in me as as an actor." These are 6 practical fashion tips for flying. What to wear on a plane and how to dress for a trip or vacation. What to wear to the airport as well as how to dress to maximize comfort, function and of course style.
Aaron Marino of alpha m. offers six tips about how to fly in style. He has read a ton of posts about how to travel in style on male style blogs. Majority of the advice is crap and not practical like suggesting to wear a blue blazer and fedora. The advice given here is found useful by Alpha. It boils down to why you're traveling. Alpha is separating travel between personal and travel.
Practical Style Tips When Flying
1. Shoes - casual travel wear mocs, boat shoes, fashion sneakers; business travel wear slip on loafers, brogues, monk straps. Make sure your shoes are comfortable and broken-in.
2. Socks - wear stylish, clean socks for both casual and professional dress. They are a great way to slip your shoes off and hang-out in your socks (versus the ratty, stinky looking gym socks)
3. Dress in layers - layer a tee shirt, zip up hoodie or button up cardigan, and light weight jacket. Wear an undershirt with your dress shirt. Remove layers at you need.
4. Wear a jacket with pockets for passes, phone, keys, and more to avoid digging through a bag. If you are wearing a suit jacket or sport coat and you don't want it wrinkled, grab a flight attendant and ask if she / he will hang your jacket / coat for you. You can also clip a carabiner to tray table (see article link above).
5. Pack your sunglasses in your case in your bag - on your head stretches out the glasses and greases up the lenses. You can also lose them if not secured.
6. Pants - dark wash, great fitting jeans which can be dressed up with shoes, for casual wear. Wear 100% wool for professional not synthetic or linen.

When you think India, if you think spicy food, snake charmers, dodging cows, the Taj Mahal, and total chaos- you’re thinking about Northern India. It's an adventure waiting to happen, and will leave you wondering why it only accounts for 1% of world tourism.
Join Ricky Moreno as he explores Delhi, Rajasthan, Agra, Rishikesh, and Varanasi.
Welcome to Delhi. Say goodbye to your personal space. It’s crowded, it’s overwhelming, and definitely exhausting. One day here can feel like an entire week. The only way you’ll have any fun is to just put down the Purell and join the party.
Instead of going straight to Agra to see the Taj Mahal, first I head west to hang with some locals in Rajasthan. Here, the people are welcoming, the desert is sprawling, and the camels command the streets. And it turns out that the cows aren’t the only things Hindus hold sacred.
Karni Mata Rat Temple. Over 20,000 rats call this Hindu temple home, and Indians come here to pay their respects, as these rats are believed to be the reincarnations of ancestors. Shoes aren’t allowed inside, so plan ahead and bring two pairs of socks, and if you’re brave enough, it’s considered an honor to share a bowl of milk with the rats.
Most travelers who come to Jaisalmer opt for the camel safari across the Thar Desert, leading you to a good spot to view the sun setting over the Pakistani border, which happens to be heavily armed, so always keep your cool.
The food is awesome. It completely blew me away. I honestly don’t know much about Indian food, and half the time I didn’t know what I was ordering, but with the intense spices and pungent flavors, every meal seemed to be better than the next, from high end restaurants to local cafes. TripAdvisor and Lonely Planet usually hit the mark with their recommendations, and asking for whatever the chef recommends almost always rewarded me with a memorable meal.
Get on a bus and head north, and you’ll eventually reach Rishikesh- a city where you won’t find meat on any menu, and is overrun by hippie backpackers, weird yoga people, and unruly monkeys. It’s the gateway to the Himalayas.
Oh my God whatever you do.. don’t feed the monkeys. Rabies is a very serious risk in India, and medical treatment to prevent it is very long, and very painful.
After experiencing my share of incredible extremes here in India, my journey brings me to Varanasi, Hindu’s most holy city on the banks its most holy river, The Ganges. Varanasi is a city that was built on and still thrives on traditions. Traditions that may seem strange and shocking, at first, but spend enough time here and you’ll come to appreciate the power of this place.
For many people, Varanasi is their final resting place. Hindus believe that dying here will release you from the cycle of rebirth. For families that can afford it, elaborate cremation ceremonies are carried out in publi c view along the river, their ashes being released into the water. For the vast majority, however, bodies are weighted with stones and sunk to the bottom. These traditions are in harmony with daily bathing rituals- a ritual that is said to remove sins and purify souls.

Prince Charles is enchanted by the mysterious girl who disappeared into thin air at the ball after losing a glass shoe on the palace stairs and he is desperate to find her. Hans and Alex decide to help him and obtain the king's permission to seek out the girl. They go from house to house with the shoe, trying to find its rightful owner. Finally, their quest still unsuccessful, they arrive at the house of Cinderella, who is still reeling in disbelief that she had actually been dancing with the prince at the castle. Her stepmother orders her to go to her room and stay there while her stepsisters come to debate over who should try the shoe on first. Naturally, it doesn't fit either one of them. At this point, Hans asks the stepmother to call her other daughter, as she too must try on the shoe. After Hans insists, reluctantly the stepmother summons Cinderella who at first refuses to try on the shoe. It takes all her animal friends and the fairy godmother to persuade her to change her mind. Finally,she slips her foot into the shoe and before she can blink,the gates of the Emerald Castle swing wide open to welcome her.
