Tweeter is an awesome Muscovy Duck.....who lives with several dogs and cats.They all get along . He can go through the doggy door behind the dogs to come into the house. He is always happy, wagging his tail all the time, makes me laugh.

Today is the big Muscovy cull day for the sexually aggressive drakes, a job I didn’t count on and but it has to be done for the safety and welfare of the females in the flock.
Dug still didn’t want to come out for the duck’s morning rush, I wonder how long it’s going to take for him to get over the electrocution he suffered?
The morning rush out of the pen was epic this morning they were crazy fast to get out of the pen, waiting for me.
Water station is working perfectly last night while I was butchering the Muscovy drakes I couldn’t believe how much the well pump turned on, 400 ducks in the main pen drink a ton of water I have to get these ducks to the lakes ASAP.
Tomorrow I have to move the ducklings out of the kiddie pools in the barn, they are generating just too much poop in a 24 hour period now to stay in the pools they need more space.
During the initial attempt to cull the Muscovy Dug was running interference, he thought I wanted to herd them which wasn’t what I wanted to do so I had to put Dug in the back shed.
I couldn’t believe how thick and tough the skin on the Muscovy drakes was, it dulled my knife on the first duck I had to sharpen it for each duck, last year I butchered 77 birds and never had to sharpen it.
The cleaned weights of the Muscovy drakes from the cull was 8.75 lbs, 7 lbs and 6.75 lbs, I ended up getting 11 lbs of duck burger from 3 birds, not much but premium meat.

The Muscovy Duck is an odd duck indeed. They are very personable, often following one around like a puppy dog. This particular flock is no exception.
Ilford here, loves to be petted and codddled. Every morning, when I go out to feed the chickens and gather the duck eggs, he waddles over, making his hissing sounds and looking for some love.

The easiest way to cook a Muscovy duck…
After cooking over 75+ ducks the past 6 months I’ve perfected the easiest way to cook a duck, you can use any spice you would normally use for chicken, beef, or pork that is up to you, but the process is so simple.
Roasting a duck the secret is cooking it at 325°F and don’t over cook it, a 5.8lb Muscovy duck takes 3 hours 40 minutes and not a minute longer.
When roasting the duck you need to make sure the duck is sitting at least 2 inches from the bottom of the pan to make sure it gets lots of air moment around the duck and that it isn’t sitting in its rendered fat.
The last hour to 40 minutes of the cooking time flip the duck over so the breast is sitting facing up to get the skin crispy.
It is best to thaw the duck completely overnight so when you apply your spice to it in the morning it sticks to the skin, I put my duck in the oven between 6 am to 10 am in the morning set the timer on the oven so it’s done just in time for supper at the end of the day.
This is the easiest and tastiest meal I have in my house and still after 75+ ducks the past 6 months I look forward to supper and don’t like to share it.

Grand Duchy of Moscow
The Grand Duchy of Moscow (Russian: Великое Княжество Московское, Velikoye Knyazhestvo Moskovskoye), or Grand Principality of Moscow (also known in English simply as Muscovy), was a late medieval Rus' principality centered on Moscow and the predecessor state of the early modern Tsardom of Russia.
The state originated with Daniel I, who inherited Moscow in 1283, eclipsing and eventually absorbing its parent duchy of Vladimir-Suzdal by the 1320s. It later destroyed and annexed the Novgorod Republic in 1478 and the Grand Duchy of Tver in 1485. The Grand Duchy of Moscow expanded through conquest and annexation from just 20,000 square kilometers in 1300 to 430,000 in 1462, 2.8 million in 1533, and 5.4 million by 1584.
Muscovy remained a tributary to the Golden Horde (under the "Tatar Yoke") until 1480. Ivan III further consolidated the state during his 43-year reign, campaigning against his major remaining rival power, the Grand Duchy of Lithuania, and by 1503 he had tripled the territory of Muscovy, adopting the title of tsar and claiming the title of "Ruler of all Rus'". By his marriage to the niece of the last Byzantine emperor, he established Muscovy as the successor state of the Roman Empire, the "Third Rome".

Muscovy Drake Cull Day A Really Long Day On The Duck Adventure #69 Hatching Ducklings Ducks
Today is the big Muscovy cull day for the sexually aggressive drakes, a job I didn’t count on and but it has to be done for the safety and welfare of the females in the flock. Dug still didn’t want to come out for the duck’s morning rush, I wonder how long it’s going to take for him to get over the electrocution he suffered? The morning rush out of the pen was epic this morning they were crazy fast to get out of the pen, waiting for me. Water station is working perfectly last night while I was butchering the Muscovy drakes I couldn’t believe how much the well pump turned on, 400 ducks in the main pen drink a ton of water I have to get these ducks to the lakes ASAP. Tomorrow I have to move the ducklings out of the kiddie pools in the barn, they are generating just too much poop in a 24 ... -

How To Cook A Muscovy Duck The Easy & Simplest Way
The easiest way to cook a Muscovy duck… After cooking over 75+ ducks the past 6 months I’ve perfected the easiest way to cook a duck, you can use any spice you would normally use for chicken, beef, or pork that is up to you, but the process is so simple. Roasting a duck the secret is cooking it at 325°F and don’t over cook it, a 5.8lb Muscovy duck takes 3 hours 40 minutes and not a minute longer. When roasting the duck you need to make sure the duck is sitting at least 2 inches from the bottom of the pan to make sure it gets lots of air moment around the duck and that it isn’t sitting in its rendered fat. The last hour to 40 minutes of the cooking time flip the duck over so the breast is sitting facing up to get the skin crispy. It is best to thaw the duck completely overnight so when... -

Dug still didn’t want to come out for the duck’s morning rush, I wonder how long it’s going to take for him to get over the electrocution he suffered?
The morning rush out of the pen was epic this morning they were crazy fast to get out of the pen, waiting for me.
Water station is working perfectly last night while I was butchering the Muscovy drakes I couldn’t believe how much the well pump turned on, 400 ducks in the main pen drink a ton of water I have to get these ducks to the lakes ASAP.
Tomorrow I have to move the ducklings out of the kiddie pools in the barn, they are generating just too much poop in a 24 hour period now to stay in the pools they need more space.
During the initial attempt to cull the Muscovy Dug was running interference, he thought I wanted to herd them which wasn’t what I wanted to do so I had to put Dug in the back shed.
I couldn’t believe how thick and tough the skin on the Muscovy drakes was, it dulled my knife on the first duck I had to sharpen it for each duck, last year I butchered 77 birds and never had to sharpen it.
The cleaned weights of the Muscovy drakes from the cull was 8.75 lbs, 7 lbs and 6.75 lbs, I ended up getting 11 lbs of duck burger from 3 birds, not much but premium meat.

The easiest way to cook a Muscovy duck…
After cooking over 75+ ducks the past 6 months I’ve perfected the easiest way to cook a duck, you can use any spice you would normally use for chicken, beef, or pork that is up to you, but the process is so simple.

It is best to thaw the duck completely overnight so when you apply your spice to it in the morning it sticks to the skin, I put my duck in the oven between 6 am to 10 am in the morning set the timer on the oven so it’s done just in time for supper at the end of the day.
This is the easiest and tastiest meal I have in my house and still after 75+ ducks the past 6 months I look forward to supper and don’t like to share it.

After cooking over 75+ ducks the past 6 months I’ve perfected the easiest way to cook a duck, you can use any spice you would normally use for chicken, beef, or pork that is up to you, but the process is so simple.
Roasting a duck the secret is cooking it at 325°F and don’t over cook it, a 5.8lb Muscovy duck takes 3 hours 40 minutes and not a minute longer.
When roasting the duck you need to make sure the duck is sitting at least 2 inches from the bottom of the pan to make sure it gets lots of air moment around the duck and that it isn’t sitting in its rendered fat.
The last hour to 40 minutes of the cooking time flip the duck over so the breast is sitting facing up to get the skin crispy.
It is best to thaw the duck completely overnight so when you apply your spice to it in the morning it sticks to the skin, I put my duck in the oven between 6 am to 10 am in the morning set the timer on the oven so it’s done just in time for supper at the end of the day.
This is the easiest and tastiest meal I have in my house and still after 75+ ducks the past 6 months I look forward to supper and don’t like to share it.
