Sky blue

Sky blue is the name of a color that resembles the color of the sky at noon. The entry for "sky-blue" in Murray's New English Dictionary (1919) reports a first sighting of the term in the article on "silver" in Ephraim Chambers's Cyclopaedia of 1728. However, many writers had used the term "sky blue" to name a color before Chambers. For example, we find "sky blue" in A Collection of Voyages and Travels (London: Awnsham and John Churchill, 1704), vol. 2, p. 322, where John Nieuhoff describes certain flowers: "they are of a lovely sky blue colour, and yellow in the middle". The sense of this color may have been first used in 1585 in a book by Nicolas De Nicolay where he stated "the tulbant of the merchant must be skie coloured".

Celeste

Celeste (pronounced che-les-te in Italian se-lest in English) is the colloquial name for the pale turquoise blue colour associated with Italian bicycle manufacturer Bianchi S.p.A and sometimes known as Bianchi Green. In Italian, as the name indicates (Celestial), it is an attempt to reproduce the colour of clear skies. In English, this colour may also be referred to as Italian sky blue.

The Voice UK

The Voice UK is a British television talent show created by John de Mol and based on the concept The Voice of Holland. It began airing on BBC One on 24 March 2012. There are five different stages to the show: producers' auditions, blind auditions, battle phase, knockouts, and live shows. The winner receives £100,000 and a record deal with Universal Republic. There have been four winners to date: Leanne Mitchell, Andrea Begley, Jermain Jackman and Stevie McCrorie.

The show involves artists drawn from public auditions, and is part of The Voice franchise. It is produced by Wall to Wall as well as Dutch production company Talpa Productions.

The BBC won a "bidding war" with ITV, paying £22 million for the rights to broadcast the show in the UK for two years. ITV's Britain's Got Talent launched its sixth series on the same date of 24 March 2012. Many media outlets saw this move as a deliberate attempt by ITV to create a "TV ratings war" with the BBC.

In November 2015, the BBC announced that the fifth series of The Voice UK will be their last. That same month, ITV announced they had acquired the rights to air The Voice UK for three additional series, as well as plans for two series' of The Voice Kids and a spin-off series to air on ITV2, to begin airing in 2017.

Michelle Chamuel

Michelle Jacqueline Chamuel (born 1986) is an American singer, songwriter and producer. She was the lead singer of the band Ella Riot and the runner-up on season four of The Voice. As a producer she is known as The Reverb Junkie. She has released several albums and EPs as a solo artist and in partnership with other artists. Her latest album Face the Fire was released in February 2015. She released an EP titled I AM in November 2015.

Early life

Chamuel grew up in Wellesley, Massachusetts. She is the daughter of Joalie Davie and Jacques Chamuel who came to the United States from Egypt in 1960s. She studied violin with her father and took piano lessons at age four. In seventh grade she started to sequence music on a synthesizer, sing and compose. She produced a full-length CD during her senior year, graduated from Wellesley High School and studied performing arts technology at the University of Michigan.
